What is Reiki Sobre Reiki?

Reiki Sobre Reiki, also known simply as Reiki, is a healing ritual that involves using the hands to conduct healthy energy. Specifically, practitioners place their hands on or near the areas of the body where a patient indicates feelings of pain or sickness. Reiki Sobre Reiki is believed to be beneficial because healing energy is then passed from the practitioner to the patient through the hands, or the patient’s own natural healing response is triggered to produce the same effect. Used primarily as a form of complementary medical care, Reiki is not used for primary treatment of a serious illness or injury.

Originating in Japan in the 1920s, the first practitioner of Reiki Sobre Reiki was a lay Christian monk by the name of Mikao Usui. Since then, this healing practice has been taught to students using Usui’s original methods and is now studied by contemporary practitioners worldwide. Scientists who study the natural field of energy that surrounds the body, commonly referred to as the biofield, classify Reiki Sobre Reiki as a type of energy medicine similar to Qi, which is an ancient healing tradition widely practiced in Chinese medicine.

Reiki Sobre Reiki is normally performed on a fully clothed patient. Patients are either very gently touched by a practitioner or a practitioner’s hands are positioned in such a way as to hover slightly over a patient’s body as energy fields are channeled to promote healing. Not considered to be a religious practice, Reiki Sobre Reiki does not require any particular belief system on the part of the practitioner or the patient for it to be administered.

Translated, the Japanese word Reiki means “universal life energy” with Sobre Reiki simply offering a Spanish translation literally meaning “on energy.” Two distinct types of Reiki are often practiced. One type, Japanese Reiki, is believed to be closer to the original healing treatment discovered by Mikao Usui, while a second type, Western Reiki, is more commonly taught in the United States. While both types essentially focus on therapeutic touching to promote healing and wellness, Western Reiki primarily differs in the positioning of a practitioner’s hands during a Reiki session.

Reiki Sobre Reiki is believed to be beneficial in healing a variety of conditions. A few of these include headaches, fibromyalgia, stress, fatigue and chronic pain. Reiki Sobre Reiki is also used to promote general wellness even in the absence of a specific ailment.
