Many people turn to hair treatments to remedy situations such as dry hair, itchy scalp, hair loss or split ends. Unfortunately, the hair care treatments also contain harsh chemicals that may do more harm than good. There are many natural hair treatments that can remedy this situation.

Dry hair is one of the most common complaints that people have. This can be genetic, caused by heat styling, or a result of using harsh chemicals. Hot oil treatment is one of the most popular ways to remedy this problem. A person can make his or her own oil treatment by mixing together lavender, carrier oil,and vitamin E oil with lavender flowers and glycerin. The mixture is then covered and warmed in the microwave for 20 seconds.

Natural hair treatments can also be used to treat itchy scalps. One of the most popular home remedies for this problem is a rosemary hot oil treatment. This is easily made by mixing together equal parts of rosemary leaves with soybean oil and heating until it is warm. The mixture is strained to remove all the rosemary leaves and the oil is applied to the hair where it is required to sit for 15 minutes. The hair is then shampooed to remove all the oil residue.

As many people age, they tend to lose their hair. There are many products on the market that claim to stop or reverse hair loss, but often times the side effects are unbearable. There are several natural hair treatments that are said to prevent hair loss, one of which involves conditioning the hair three times a week with coconut milk. Another popular hair treatment involves mixing together hot olive oil, honey and cinnamon powder, massaging the mixture into the scalp and allowing it to sit for 15 minutes.

Split ends are easily repaired using natural hair treatments. A popular remedy for treating split ends involves saturating the hair with a mixture of vitamin E capsules and warm water, then allowing it to sit overnight. Making a protective hair mask is also recommended to eliminate split ends. This can be done by mixing together a combination of mayonnaise, olive oil, egg yolk and mashed avocado. The mixture is massaged into to the bottom one third of the hair and allowed to sit for 30 minutes.

Many people who practice natural hair treatments also follow a balanced diet that includes all the minerals necessary to maintain proper health. A multivitamin can replace minerals not obtained through diet. Depriving the body of minerals such as folic acid can lead to dry brittle hair or hair loss.

I used to put pure mayonnaise on my hair to make it shinier and softer. All my friends were doing it, so I decided to give it a try, even though I hate the smell of mayonnaise.

After washing my hair, I slathered on the white goo and let it soak in for about ten minutes. I did hate sitting there and smelling it, but I really loved the results.

After I rinsed it out and let it dry, I could tell a big difference in the texture of my hair. It felt as soft as if I had used a hot oil treatment, and it had more luster than it usually did.
