@ocelot60- That is a great appetizer idea, and one that looks as good as it tastes. Another tip for dressing up a serving tray full of cheese and crackers is to add sliced pickles and olives. These traditional relish tray items go nicely with all types of cheeses, because they add nice, contrasting flavors. They also add color and variety to the serving tray.

I hosted a party last year, and had to come up with a nice appetizer. However, I was on a budget and didn't want to spend a lot of money even though I wanted the appetizer to look and taste great. I found that when it comes to using cheese for an appetizer, you have a lot of options so you don't have to spend a lot of money.

I bought several blocks of different types of cheeses, including Swiss, cheddar, pepper jack, and provolone. I cut them into cubes with a ridged knife to give each piece a pretty look. I also bought a several boxes of fancy crackers. I placed the cheese cubes and cracker varieties on an attractive serving tray. Just like that, I had an expensive-looking appetizer that I didn't have to spend a lot of money on to make.
