If you're doing any kind of aerobic exercise, whether it's walking, running, Zumba, or whatever, you've got to have good shoes. You have to cushion your knees and ankles by wearing good shoes.

I'd advise going to a sporting goods store and talking with the reps about what kind of exercise you're doing, and get them to help you select the best shoes for what you plan to do.

I do mostly walking, so I got shoes that support my heels and arches. Also, you'll need to try on several pairs to find the ones that fit your particular feet the best.

Comfort, comfort, comfort. I don't give a rip whether my workout clothes are "stylish" or not.

A woman definitely needs a good sports bra. Everything she does will be more comfortable if she wears one.

I usually wear a T-shirt and capris. They're short enough to be cool, but long enough so they don't bunch up when I walk. Naturally, these are fairly loose-fitting. I don't do tight workout clothes.
