A survey of 287 students showed that Mac users had significantly greater anxiety about computers than PC users. Perhaps it's no surprise that Mac users are more leery — many purchase Macs because they are simpler to use, as opposed to PCs, which allows the user more control over the system. Stress over computers is not limited to Mac owners though — about 40% of Americans suffer from some form of "computer anxiety."

Linux and Windows are stress free compared with Mac! Personally, I think Mac is over priced and has more apps and widgets than a sane human should ever need. |

I'm a user of Mac, Linux, and Windows. I'm deeply curious but also cautious so as not to damage my "babies." But anxious? Not any more. I used to be quite anxious before I knew Mac and Linux. But it was getting a Mac that opened my gates, and I started to have fun with computers. Now, I'll try anything. FYI: as for demographics, I'm a woman aged 51, and of all my computers, five are macs, 1 is a Compaq, 1 a homebuilt, and the other seven are Dells. |
