What Is the Most Popular Dog in the US?

The most popular dog in the United States is the Labrador Retriever, which ranked first in popularity in 2013 for the 22nd consecutive year. @Viranty - I disagree. I just think that people love their dogs a lot, and I'm one of them. Do you own a dog? I own two, and they're great pets to have. As Chmander said, they're lovable, and they truly care for you. In fact, they even have some of the same human emotions that we do. However, I honestly can't stand watching those "dog" movies that are meant to pull at your heartstrings. Have you ever seen Marley and Me? I'd advise you to stay away. During the end, the dog has to be put to sleep, and we even see a shot of his eye closing. It's definitely the saddest movie ever.

Has anyone noticed that dogs are being treated more and more like humans nowadays? I know it's OK for people to love their dogs, but it's really starting to creep me out. Often on Facebook, my friends will posts photos of their dogs dressed up in clothes, along with creepy hash-tags which are borderline obsessive. I just find it a little odd is all. Does anyone else feel the same way?

I'm not surprised that so many people in the US own dogs. I don't own a dog myself, but it's not hard to see why people care for them so much. They love you unconditionally, will treat you like a friend, and are always waiting to greet you when you come home. I love looking at the window and seeing how excited the next door neighbor's dog gets when she comes home. He really cares for her.
