What Is Electronic Harassment?

Marisa O'Connor

Electronic harassment, not to be confused with cyberstalking, describes any situation where a person or property is being covertly harmed or bothered using an electronic device. Microwaves and electronic surveillance devices are some of the weapons used by electronic harassers. Signal jamming and lasers have also been used on targets of electronic harassment, also known as e-harassment. E-harassment can be incredibly difficult to detect because of its discreet nature.

One method of electronic harassment is made available by the popular microwave oven. All someone needs to do to turn this common household appliance into an electronic weapon is to remove the door and bypass the door interlock switch. When this device is properly rigged and held against the wall of the harassment target, it can cause some severe medical symptoms. Microwave exposure can lead to early Alzheimer's, cancer, as well as heart and blood pressure problems. This type of harassment can also cause headaches, cataracts, and memory loss.

Electronic surveillance is another form of electronic harassment. As technology advances, surveillance devices are getting smaller and more discreet, which is bad news for targets of e-harassment. GPS tracking devices and video or audio recording mechanisms, when used illegally and without the target's consent, can be used for e-harassment. Unfortunately, these devices are very easy to come by in spy novelty shops and online stores and equally difficult to detect when hidden well.

Jamming and other electronic interference devices also constitute e-harassment. GPS device jammers are often used by truckers in order to remain hidden during unauthorized stops, but they can also be used more directly to harm someone. One case of widespread e-harassment was reported when North Korea temporarily disabled GPS signals in a large portion of South Korea, where the U.S. Navy was running drills. Electronic noise generators can also be used to disrupt cell phone and other signals of an e-harassment target.

Lasers have provided yet another avenue of electronic harassment. No matter the cost or technological complexity of the device that produces the laser, this type of harassment can be very dangerous or just annoying. Some of the more juvenile attempts at laser harassment include shining the red dot produced by the laser within the target's view. People have been temporarily blinded by electronic harassers shining the laser into their eyes. Traffic accidents have also been caused by lasers shined in the target's eye while driving.

I find myself constantly looking up "this torture" almost daily. I haven't a clue what people are talking about. It does sound crazy.

That is why this "game" has gone on so long, and has become so popular in the United States. Our stories!!

Then I will read something that is so familiar to me, It mirrors my sick experience. Even though my stalking has ended, I think of it 24/7! I don't want to! How we are after this experience is anyone's

guess, damage to us. It's like a clinical trial, because nobody knows! It's not real, right? We just sit in a circle and make up the most insane situations. It's the in thing, let me tell you! People are cowards, so soldier up, man up, women up. Recognize the consequences of your "play time". Karma's coming. You're a gang because you're zero alone. tough. wow

If you complain about electronic harassment to the police, they just say you are crazy and refer you for psychiatric evaluation. This would suggest it's the government or the police doing it or else it's just a handy method to get you off their backs and stop wasting their time as they claim they don't have the equipment to investigate with.

Doing a professional private bug sweep of your home can be really expensive and there's no guarantee they'll find anything if the equipment being used is either switched off at the time or housed with a neighbor. What we need on the market is an affordable electronic harassment detector which can also record evidence. The device needs to be something you can leave on all night as the harassment I get tends to occur during the night.

What is girdling where electronic harassment is concerned? Are there actual court cases proving electronic harassment has occurred?

This is one of the most sane sites regarding this subject I have come across. Many people have gone over the edge, confusing cyber bullying with sociopathic neighbours. I would like to put out there that it is most likely a sociopath who will entertain himself (no gender bias implied) by monitoring or interfering with a neighbor's daily activities with electronic bullying.

Sociopaths are generally categorized as having a Borderline Personality Disorder, and one of their characteristics is being so completely focused on their victims, they become experts at reading the emotions of victims. Therefore, with the combination of electronic interference and electronic bullying, victims begin to believe it is mind control they are experiencing.

I really want to emphasize that the victims are not mad, but actually being driven mad by what experts call "emotional terrorism" (sociopaths).

If you are, or know someone who believes their neighbours are interfering with their emotional lives to this extent, please have them read about sociopathy and how to cope with such people. In Buddhism, knowledge is the answer. And in this circumstance, I truly believe knowledge will be a great tool for victims.

I have been a victim many times. I will say this: it is worth it to get noise eliminating headphones and twenty feet or more of extension cord. Get used to the idea that 50 percent of people are sociopathic these days and deliberately hurting strangers, and that you are not alone.

May the good people find each other and support each other soon and build an alliance against this new group of antisocial cretins.

After three months of across the board cyber crime, I was frustrated and exhausted trying to keep up with password cracking, effects of malware after my phone and computer were wiped. Despite my shored up security anti malware, she circumvented it.

Don't enable any photo apps. The forensic log noted visits to Photo Booth regularly. Place thick tape over the camera eye on your computer as well as phone. Disable all camera apps if you can. Also, cancel your Skype membership and never leave your computer screen wide open. Use a digit-based iPhone lock. Consider getting a VPN or Anonymous Browsing system. Don't forget to include Internet Protection when placing security software. Include protection for mobile devices.

When writing things you don't want attackers to see, use another computer. Apps are not safe, and can be the port of entry along with camera apps built in. Some use a "keylogger' which remotely record your key activity.

Lastly, it's always possible for the use of Mac "Grab" to do screen shots. Change your passwords, stop using Facebook and suspend you account. Free privacy email accounts encrypted are online. Good luck.
