What Is Aloe Soap?

Aloe soap is soap that includes aloe vera as a main ingredient. It is very popular due to its intense healing and moisturizing properties. Aloe can come in varying concentrations in soap, and can be combined with other ingredients to enhance its skin-soothing properties. It is also known to have a positive effect on many skin conditions. While aloe soap can be purchased in stores, it can also be made at home.

Aloe vera has a reputation for being a healing substance. As a result, many consumers prefer to purchase products made with this ingredient to address skin problems. In addition, ingredients like vitamins, minerals, and alpha-hydroxy acids can be added to the soap for a skin-conditioning and nourishing boost.

Many aloe vera soaps use aloe vera as a base. However, the particular concentration of aloe in the soaps can vary greatly between manufacturers. Some may claim that they make aloe soap, but only add its fragrance or incorporate a small amount of aloe into their soaps. Individuals who want high concentrations of aloe should reference packaging labels for percentages. Products labeled as natural beauty products may have higher concentrations of aloe in their soaps.

It's not uncommon for aloe soap to be made from combined ingredients. Manufacturers often add the ingredients of olive oil or shea butter to aloe soap recipes to enhance the cleaning or moisturizing properties. Olive oil, for example, can be used in aloe soaps that are marketed as being able to moisturize the skin, while shea butter can be added as an ingredient to soften the skin. These two ingredients are also versatile in that they can be applied to all skin types, making the resulting aloe vera soap one that can be used by many people in the same household.

The types of skin conditions that aloe vera may help to remedy are numerous. Dry skin, psoriasis, burns, and abrasions are but a few of the problems that can be alleviated with the use of aloe vera products. With its relatively low cost and common availability, aloe vera products, like soap, can be handy tools to help ease the pain and discomfort associated with abnormal skin conditions.

Aloe soap can also be made at home. If beauty enthusiasts choose to do this, they can gather all-natural ingredients and follow an appropriate soap recipe. A benefit of making aloe soap at home is that it can usually be made from all-natural ingredients. These can spare the user from contact with dangerous chemicals that manufacturers add to beauty products, like parabens.

I use a hand soap with aloe and vitamin E. I actually picked it up randomly at the store once because it was on sale. I was pleasantly surprised with the scent and moisturizing effects. I realized that I don't need to apply hand lotion as frequently when I use hand soap with aloe. So I've stuck with the product and have been using it for about a year now. I just hope they never stop making it.

@stoneMason-- I agree with you. I use a glycerin aloe soap that's all natural and it's great. The glycerin is vegetable based and there is a lot of aloe in it. I have sensitive and dry skin and this is about the only soap I can use without experiencing extreme dryness and itching afterward.

It does cost a bit more and runs out more quickly than regular soap. But it's worth it in my view. I can see how this may be unaffordable for some people though. Even regular soap is better off with aloe because the aloe may offset the drying and irritating effects of harsh ingredients and perfumes in soap.

Although aloe itself is an amazing ingredient that has numerous benefits, all aloe soaps aren't natural or beneficial. Aloe vera has become very popular in recent years. This has lead some large soap brands to also use it as an ingredient. But the amount of aloe in these mass produced soaps are very little. Majority of the ingredients are still unnatural and harsh.

So if anyone is going to use aloe soap, the best soap is definitely a 100% organic one. And aloe should be one of the first ingredients in the ingredients list. The closer an ingredient is to the beginning of the list, the more of it there is in the product.
