A control slip, a ladies undergarment, is a body contouring slip. The firming slip helps the tummy of the wearer to appear flatter and the behind to appear firmer. A control slip is considered a type of body control lingerie.

Control slips come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Regardless of their shape, they produce the same effect, a shapelier body. While offered in distinctly different dimensions, the slip is most commonly made from a combination of nylon and spandex. The reason for this particular combination is that it is durable and able to the withstand the pressure of body weight, and it is able to stretch. This ability to stretch is important so that, while the wearer is afforded a more toned appearance, she still has the ability to move comfortably.

A control slip is often seamless, which creates a smooth and flawless look when worn under any type of clothing. The material is in a tight knot form. This knit weave allows for breathability that would not be available otherwise. Without breathability, a control slip can leave the person wearing it feeling damp and uncomfortable.

Covering the full upper and lower torso or just the lower half, a control slip shapes and slips. While adding a flattering waistline, most slips do not minimize the bust line of the woman wearing them. There are those slips that will minimize the bust line, however, for those who prefer to appear to have a smaller chest.

The control slip can come with a camisole type top that comes slightly below the hips or falls all the way to just above the knees. Some control slips are strapless and are intended for evening gowns and will even include a bra within their contours. Other control slips come up only to the waistline. These slips are worn directly under the area where a bra would comfortably fit, adding an hourglass look to the figure of the person wearing it. There are also styles of the half slip that are intended to sit directly at waist level. Either of these two types of half slips come in a wide array of lengths. Due to the wide variety of different cuts, there is sure to be one to enhance any different type of figure and to flatter any style of dress and person wearing it.
