Whole grain flour is available with oat bran, rye, and wheat germ. This type of flour is typically stored in a refrigerator after it has been opened to keep the wheat germ fresh.

These ingredients are mixed together until the mix has a doughy consistency. Next, the dough is rolled out with a rolling pin and cut with a drinking glass or biscuit cutter. The biscuits are finally baked in an oven for approximately 10 minutes.

Whole grain biscuits are an important part of a healthy carbohydrate diet. People on whole grain diet plans will substitute whole grain breads for white bread. These diets also recommend eating whole grain rice instead of white rice. Complex carbohydrates have added fiber and other health benefits that are not found in regular carbohydrates.

People with wheat allergies should not eat grain biscuits. Many of these biscuits contain wheat germ seeds that may cause an allergic reaction. If a person is on a gluten-free diet because of allergies, he should avoid grain biscuits.
