There are numerous types of low-fat salad dressings, and many are made with low-fat yogurt, such as yogurt dill salad dressing. Low-fat mayonnaise is also featured in many low-fat salad dressings, including low-fat ranch dressing and super salad dressing. Garlic, vinegar and fruit juice are also used to add flavor to some dressings, and honey is often used to sweeten them.

Dessert salad dressing is made with plain, low-fat yogurt and lemon juice. It also features oranges, bananas and honey, which are blended until smooth. Fruit salad dressing is made with plain low-fat yogurt and is processed in a blender. If also features frozen orange juice concentrate, raisins and apple.

Juice such as lemon and pineapple can also be used to flavor low-fat salad dressings. Creamy, low-calorie salad dressing is made by beating together low-fat cottage cheese, lemon juice and tomato juice. Poppy seed dressing is made with poppy seeds, pineapple juice and yogurt. Avocado dressing is made with ripe avocado, garlic and lemon juice. It also features light mayonnaise, low-fat yogurt and hot sauce.

Low-fat ranch dressing is made with low-fat mayonnaise and low-fat buttermilk. It is seasoned with chives, parsley and dill weed. The dressing also features garlic powder, onion powder and salt and pepper. Super salad dressing is made with light mayonnaise, low-fat plain yogurt and garlic powder. It is seasoned with dill weed, dry onion flakes and balsamic vinegar.


Ketchup and Worcestershire sauce are featured in some low-fat dressings. Low-fat French dressing is made with a combination of ketchup, sugar and wine vinegar. It is flavored with onion, paprika and Worcestershire sauce. Thousand islands dressing is made with reduced-fat mayonnaise, ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. It also features pickle relish and horseradish.

Garlic is used to season many low-fat dressings. Yogurt dill salad dressing features plain, low-fat yogurt, dry mustard and horseradish. It is also seasoned with paprika, garlic and dill weed. Balsamic vinaigrette is made with garlic, Dijon mustard and balsamic vinegar. Light Caesar dressing is made with low-fat buttermilk, garlic and grated Parmesan cheese. It also features an anchovy fillet, cider vinegar and coarsely ground black pepper.

Honey is often used to sweeten low-fat salad dressings while keeping calories and fat to a minimum. Balsamic honey mustard dressing is made with honey, Dijon mustard and balsamic vinegar. Creamy mustard dressing is made with buttermilk, honey and apple cider vinegar.
