Using rose oil for hair can help keep the hair moisturized and prevent dehydration. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, so it may help calm a range of scalp conditions and skin problems. Aside from those factors, rose oil has a soft floral scent that many people enjoy. In fact, some studies suggest that they smell of roses may elicit a calming effect when used in aromatherapy formulations.

The primary benefit to using rose oil on hair, is the fact that it hydrates dry hair and promotes health. This is especially beneficial for those with dry, damaged, or brittle hair. Those with naturally curly or course hair may also benefit, since their hair tends to be naturally drier than others. The oil can be applied directly to hair, and should be run through from roots to tips, or it may be added to shampoo and other hair care products.

You can also use rose oil for hair mixed with other ingredients which have similar properties. This may include the oil of various types of roses, avocado, or other oils. Do a little digging and create a hair mask or condition tailored specifically for your hair type.

You can also use rose oil for hair if you have certain scalp conditions. Since rose oil helps to reduce inflammation, it may help relieve discomfort and swelling related to psoriasis, dandruff, and certain other problems. More research is needed to determine exactly how rose oil should be administered in the treatment of these conditions, so talk to your dermatologist if you want advice on using it for this purpose.

The use of rose oil for hair may also relax you when you're having a stressful day. The scent of rose may help promote feelings of calm, especially when used as an essential oil. If you are making your own mixture for this purpose, try to ensure that other strong fragrances aren't mixed in with the rose unless they also promote calmness.

Rose oil is usually pricey, so you should use as little as possible when putting it in your hair. Commercial formulations containing rose oil are often less expensive than essential oil, but you should ensure that any products you try contain enough oil to benefit your hair. You can also make your own rose water at home to enjoy some of the same benefits at no cost if you have your own rose bush.

@simrin-- Rose oil is antiseptic so it also helps with scalp fungal infections and oily scalp. It helps treat dandruff, it can help your hair grow longer. It's also great to tame frizzy hair. My cousin who has crazy curly hair puts some rose oil in her shampoo to keep her curls pretty and shiny.

You can get rose oil online. Sometimes people sell a little rose oil mixed with other oils to make the product cheaper. Rose oil is not cheap, if a product is cheap, it probably isn't completely rose oil.

@simrin-- Yea, I think it will help with your split ends.

I was experiencing a lot of hair loss because of my thyroid problem. Someone suggested rose oil and even though rose oil didn't stop my hair loss completely, it helped slow it down.

I would just message it into my scalp and hair and let it sit in all day. I did this on days I was home, several times a week and I would wash my hair at the end of the day.

I also love the smell of rose oil. It's so relaxing. I used to use coconut oil on my hair and I hated the smell of it. Rose oil is better.

I have heard of rose water as a face toner but I had never heard of rose oil for hair.

Will rose oil help with split ends? And where can I get rose oil?
