What Are the Benefits of Placenta for Hair?

Placenta is a product that has become increasingly popular in the beauty industry. It can be found in various products, such as anti-aging facial cream, but it is most popular in the form of shampoo, conditioner and other types of leave-in hair treatments. Although this product provides many benefits for the hair, it is misunderstood by some people because many fear that the product is made from human placenta. In actuality, it is from the afterbirth of sheep. Using placenta for hair care will repair damaged and dry hair and leave it looking and feeling completely rejuvenated.

One of the biggest complaints that people have with their hair is having to deal with frizz. A great benefit of using placenta for hair is being able to eliminate the frizz factor. Using a placenta hair product on a regular basis will give hair the nutrients it needs to stay moisturized and healthy. This will also get rid of the frizz and poof that tends to happen, especially in longer or curly hairstyles.

Having weak hair or experiencing an abundance of hair breakage is a problem that many men and women deal with on a daily basis. Another benefit of using placenta for hair is that the placenta product, particularly a shampoo, will help to rebuild and strengthen one's hair. When hair is strong, it will hold up better during regular daily maintenance and styling.

When hair becomes damaged, it begins to lose its luster and will eventually become limp and lifeless. Using placenta for hair will provide one's hair with a healthy and natural shine that all hair should naturally have. With regular use, placenta products will also help to make curly and thick hair more manageable when it is being cleaned and styled.

Placenta for hair works wonders on coarse or rough hair types. Everyone's hair contains protein, and when that protein is lost, it causes hair to lose its soft and silky feeling. A lack of protein is what enables hair to become rough and unflattering. When placenta products are added to one's regular hair care process, the proteins are replenished, and the hair becomes as soft to the touch as it was before the damage took place.

Having a dry and itchy scalp is another problem that is solved by the use of a placenta hair care product. The placenta provides the necessary moisture and conditioning that the scalp needs to remain healthy. This will also prevent flare-ups of dandruff that are not only hard to deal with but can become embarrassing.

Hair care products that contain placenta are inexpensive. This makes it easy for a person to use them as part of his or her daily hair care regimen. As long as one uses these products a few times a week, his or her hair will continue to remain strong and healthy.

It amazes me just how gullible people are. So placenta is meat. Think about it. What happens if you put some meat in a bottle of shampoo or cream and leave it on the shelf for a year?

There is no meaningful, if any amount, of placenta in cosmetic products. Hormones from the placenta affecting anything -- sheesh! If you eat some afterbirth, maybe, but using a skin or hair product. Amazing anyone would believe that.

Furthermore, hair is dead. It is dead cells just like your fingernails. Nothing is bringing it back to life. The silicones in the product are what smooths the frizz. Everything else is just marketing.

@feruze-- Be careful with placenta products for hair. I don't deny that placenta can reduce hair loss and improve hair quality. But along with those nutrients and vitamins, placenta also contains hormones like estrogen and progesterone. These hormones can be absorbed into the body through the scalp and hair.

I read in the news that a young girl experienced early puberty (menstruation, breast growth and body hair) because of hair products with placenta.

It's always a good idea to use placenta products with caution and use it less frequently if possible to get the benefits without the side effects. And placenta products should not be used on children.

@ankara-- That's exactly right, placenta contains lots of nutrients, vitamins and minerals like B vitamins, iron and protein that are beneficial for hair. I've been using a placenta hair treatment for the past few months and the condition of my hair has improved a lot. I have less breakage and less hair fall!

I have extremely damaged hair and I'm always looking for new hair products that can make my hair healthier and shinier. I don't think I could ever try a placenta hair product though.

First of all, I don't understand how placenta can benefit hair. As far as I know, this is the organ that develops with the baby and transfers nutrients and oxygen to the baby and removes toxins. Does this mean that placenta is composed of nutrients?

Also, most brands don't clarify where the placenta in their products come from. If the placenta comes from humans, would we know?
