There are also typically a number of unseen benefits that may not be predicted but are observed during the change process and can be considered afterward.

Change management involves using certain strategies and practices to create a model by which change can occur within a business or similar organization. The benefits of this primarily comes from how the model is executed and how it helps individuals within a group better deal with change. For example, an employee may be resistant to changes, even those that could be beneficial, simply because of his or her nature. By using a change management model, that employee may be coached more effectively through the process, which in turn can lead to him or her working with others to facilitate change.


A company that effectively manages change can typically benefit by saving money and helping employees remain comfortable. Not only can money often be saved while changing practices simply by virtue of planning out the process, such planning may also help in the long run by helping to predict and prevent problems that might arise. These types of unseen benefits may not be considered at first, but they are just as valuable as other benefits.

In many cases, the benefits of change management can extend to the time following a change as well. Many models are designed to work before, during, and after a period of change. These models can also be cyclical in nature, allowing one process of change to progress toward another, helping a company grow and change through a sequence with which workers can become increasingly comfortable. This type of management can often ultimately result in higher profits for companies and more satisfied workers.
