The two photographs are resized to be equivalent, and the shapes of the features are converted into geometric shapes and then averaged, with the size adjusted. The colors of each element are also averaged, and a new face appears.

Combining elements of multiple pictures is a simple operation in Photoshop. Simply use the Outline tool to define the edges of the section you want to super impose on the other picture. Next, use the Cut function to remove the desired section and Import it to the other picture and arrange and position it as you like. On pretty much any program, combining two pictures will work the same way, though Photoshop’s “layered” system allows for more customization and is a little more intuitive than most other digital photography editing interfaces.
There are also websites and software programs that allow the user to morph two pictures to make a baby picture. Couples curious about what their baby might look like can use this software to get a peek at a potential newborn. Those that dream of getting with a celebrity can also merge a celebrity's photo with their own to create a what-if child (although this might be considered as some as a little obsessive).
