Prednisone is one of the synthetic corticosteroids that is used to treat cancer, headaches, and a variety of inflammatory diseases. It is an immunosuppressant drug that often causes severe side effects that have prompted some to look for different treatments. Some alternatives include Chinese and other herbs, anti-inflammatory foods, and foods that help to naturally numb the pain. In cases of cancer, the best alternatives for prednisone are foods that naturally contain cancer-fighting agents. If you add some Omega 3 oils to your diet such as found in salmon, that can help with inflammation and your overall general well being. I don't like the taste fish, so take a natural supplement that has the Omega 3 oils in it.

There are times when nothing works as good as the Prednisone does, but by making some changes in your diet, you can often reduce the amount of medication that you have to take.

Migraine headaches have been a part of my life for many years. It seems like I have tried everything I can think of the get rid of these headaches with natural methods. There times when the only thing that helps is steroids, but I have been looking for a natural alternative to prednisone.

I was introduced to essential oils and told that peppermint will often help with headaches. For me, I have found that using a combination of peppermint and wintergreen essential oils rubbed on my temples and the middle of my forehead work very well. The key is to apply as soon as I feel a headache coming on. If I wait too long, the essential oils don't usually work, but it is nice to have a natural remedy that will help.
