How Difficult Is It to Change a Tire?

If one of your car's tires goes flat as you're driving, there's a one in five chance you won't know how to replace it with a spare. Most Americans aren't confident in their ability to change a flat, according to a recent survey of 2,000 car owners, which showed that 17 percent of drivers are "somewhat confident," 19 percent are "not very confident," and nearly 22 percent are "clueless" about changing a tire. Generally speaking, older drivers showed more acumen in car maintenance than their millennial counterparts. Conversely, the younger drivers were better at dealing with modern car technology. For example, 59 percent of baby boomers said that they could change their car's oil, whereas only 20 percent of drivers born between 1992 and 1998 said that they could. On the other hand, millennials were much more knowledgeable about using car navigation systems and Bluetooth connections.
