Women have different body contours than men, so it makes sense to have different types of razors for women. Women's hair is often less coarse than men's hair is. A wide range of both disposable and electric razors for women are available in today's market.

The Gillette Venus razors for women are disposable and have three cushioned blades and a rounded head. The Venus is designed with an easy to hold handle and a travel cap. It is also designed for sensitive skin and many users report no cuts even when shaving in a hurry. Some women like to use shaving gel along with disposable razors when shaving larger areas like their legs.

The Gillete Custom Plus disposable razors for women have a trademarked MoistureRich aloe strip to help prevent skin irritation from shaving. The Custom Plus features a pivoting head for curves around knees. The twin blades are designed to cut hairs closely and the Custom Plus has a trademarked UltraGrip rubberized handle to allow for better control during shaving.

Many electric razors for women have slow motors, while the majority of electric razors for men have fast motors designed to cut through their coarser hair. However, there are some good electric razors for women and a fast motor allows for faster shaving. Pivoting heads help prevent nicks and irritation. Fully submersible razors for women are a must for women who prefer to shave in the shower.

Most electric razors for women have a money back guarantee. Many razor manufacturers allow that it takes time for your skin to get used to a different razor and usually offer at least a month for users to try it. If you try one of the electric razors for women and do not end up liking it you can often send it back and get your money back.

Good electric razors for women cost about $45.00 to $60.00 US Dollars (USD). The Remington Smooth and Silky Shaver is a lady shaver that is designed for nick-free shaving and even has a 24k gold plated hypoallergenic microscreen. The Philips Lady Shave and Care dispenses moisturizer as the razor works. The Philips Lady Shave has a trademarked OptiShave System that lets you adjust the heads to suit the contours of each different body part and it is totally submersible for use in the bath or shower.

SilentIce- I have used Schick razors for women before and have had good experiences with them. I have very sensitive skin and I usually experience very bad razor burn when shaving. Schick razors did not irritate my skin and I experienced no razor burn after shaving. My skin felt pretty smooth after shaving and was not overly dry.

However, make sure that you use a good shaving cream when using a Schick razor. I tried using the razor only with soap and water and it gave me razor burn.

Does anyone have any experience using Schick razors for women? Did they irritate your skin?

anon15820- Venus razors are ideal for the underarm and bikini areas. Venus razors leave the skin feeling smooth and will not irritate the skin. Many traditional razors will irritate the skin, especially the bikini line, but Venus razors have special conditioners built into them and they leave even sensitive skin feeling smooth.
