The best natural cure for hemorrhoids is to combine a diet that promotes softer stool with gentle treatments to heal existing hemorrhoids. Eating adequate fiber is the most effective way to stop bleeding from hemorrhoids and prevent future outbreaks. Consuming foods rich in bioflavonoids and supplements such as butcher’s broom, horse chestnut, and triphala can also be helpful. Application of a wipe or cream with witch hazel can help to stop bleeding and treat discomfort related to hemorrhoids.

A typical natural cure for hemorrhoids is to eat a diet high in fiber. Vegetables and whole grains are good choices. Ground flaxseed can be added to food to increase the fiber content. A spoonful of powder added to a full glass of water can also be a significant source of fiber. Eating a high-fiber diet will help to soften stool so there is less strain during bowel movements, which can help to stop bleeding and relieve discomfort associated with hemorrhoids.

There are also supplements that can provide a natural relief for hemorrhoid symptoms. A plant compound known as bioflavonoid can help to decrease discomfort caused by pain and inflammation and bolster the walls of the blood vessels. It can be taken in supplement form or found naturally in citrus fruits. Butcher’s broom and horse chestnut supplements can help to ease symptoms by improving circulation. Triphala is a fruit-based bowel tonic that works to ease constipation.

Topical preparations can also treat symptoms and help to prevent future outbreaks and discomfort. In addition to witch hazel wipes and creams, applying chamomile or calendula to the area can provide relief. These can be applied via an ointment or a compress. Using fingers or a cotton swab to insert a small amount of petroleum jelly slightly into the rectum and spreading it around the anus can provide lubrication to ease elimination.

The three best ways to prevent further outbreaks of hemorrhoids is to eat a high-fiber diet, exercise regularly, and drink adequate water. Individuals who have cured hemorrhoid symptoms with a high-fiber diet will see continued benefits and have less chance of having a re-occurrence of hemorrhoids if they make the diet a permanent routine. At least thirty minutes of moderate activity such as walking or yoga three times a day can help to ease bowel movements and thus prevent further outbreaks. Drinking at least six glasses of water a day will also aid in maintaining healthy, strain-free elimination.

For me, after trying pretty much all the natural solutions, in the end, only surgery really helped. I had the new THD method surgery done half a year ago. It was way not as bad as I had expected. I spent one night in the hospital and I could go home and yes, it did hurt, but when I think about the many times my hemorrhoids were burning, it really wasn't that bad. I'm glad I did it.

But hey, as long as it doesn't get too bad, I think natural solutions can be great. Something that helped me, was cleaning myself with wet toilet paper and a drop of tea tree oil. It burns a bit, but is especially great when your hemorrhoids are inflamed, as it's kind of a disinfectant.

Witch hazel is really great. I saturate a couple cotton balls, and put them in contact with the hemorrhoids for a few minutes after my morning shower. The natural pressure from my butt cheeks holds it in place. It stings just a bit initially, and then blessed relief. After I remove the cotton balls, I use banana peel extract cream in the area. I initially used banana peels, but the cream is much easier and more convenient. I get mine online since I can't find it in drugstores or health food stores. Then I repeat the process before bed. Really controls the hemorrhoids and makes life enjoyable again. Mother Nature to the rescue once again!

Does anyone know if certain exercises or movements helps cure hemorrhoids?

I know that regular exercise helps with bowel movements and prevent constipation to some degree. But I read in a forum that a specific yoga position called the "bridge position" cures hemorrhoids.

I've done yoga several times before and I might have even done this position. But it seems hard to believe that just one position can actually cure hemorrhoids and stop bleeding.

The only natural cure I've tried for my hemorrhoids has been a hot-cold compression with tea bags and an ice cube for the swelling.

@turkay1-- I've been dealing with hemorrhoids for a very long time as well. I've been to the doctor so often with this problem that he's even suggested surgery to me. However, I refused to have surgery and started looking for natural cures.

I cannot emphasize enough how important fiber is in our life. You simply cannot cure hemorrhoids without a regular and easy bowel movement which can only happen by eating enough fiber. So go crazy with vegetables and try to eat some beans or lentils several times a week.

Aside from this, I've been using a great recipe to treat my hemorrhoids naturally. What I do is mix some witch hazel, apple cider vinegar and olive oil

together. I also throw in a crushed garlic clove in there. Then I dip a cotton ball in this mixture and apply it to my hemorrhoid. Sometimes I insert the cotton ball slightly into my rectum (be careful not to insert too deep) and keep it there for 15-20 minutes.

This natural hemorrhoid cure works wonders and it shrinks the hemorrhoid very quickly. It's the best thing I've tried, but like I said don't forget the fiber.

I've heard that applying a piece of banana peel or a sliced raw potato topically helps with the inflammation of hemorrhoids. I have never tried these remedies though.

Something my mother taught me as I've been dealing with hemorrhoids since my teens is to sit in a bath tub full of hot water. I don't know how but this does help the hemorrhoid heal faster. I usually have a bath and then apply some witch hazel which works well for me.

By the way, petroleum jelly isn't really a natural hemorrhoids cure since it's a petroleum by-product. So if you need to lubricate the area, some milk or olive oil can do the job quite well. Including olive oil in meals is also a great way to lubricate from the inside out.
