What is the best diaper bag?

Hi everyone - What’s the best diaper bag you’ve found? I’m looking for a diaper bag that’s spacious, lightweight, easily cleaned and usable for all kinds of activities (not just baby-related). There are so many different options out ... there and they can be pretty pricey so I want to make sure I’m getting the best one. Any suggestions?Read more

I love the Blissly backpack and use it every day! There are tons of pockets for storing wipes, binkies, snacks, etc, plus insulated pockets for bottles, teething rings, warm food containers. It comes with a changing pad, which is nice. The shoulder straps are comfortable but there are also stroller straps for when you don’t feel like keeping it on your back. My husband and I had a hard time agreeing on a bag because they were either too babyish, too gender-specific or not rugged enough for everyday use. We still use ours everyday because we’re still using diapers but it’s totally possible that we’ll keep using it when we don’t really need a baby backpack anymore. I wish we bought it in gray, though, because the black shows dirt pretty fast.

My wife picked everything out for our kids but I insisted on choosing the baby bag because it was the only thing I knew I’d have to be seen with in public. I bought the Blissly bag. It’s practical and durable but doesn’t really look like a baby bag, which was exactly what I wanted. Fits a ton of stuff, too.

@Christopher McCarthy did you get the Blissly in black or gray?

@Kai Nichols I got the black. We don’t have problems with stains. The exterior and interior wipe down fast and doesn’t show dirt so it pretty much looks like new.

Agree 100% on the Blissly! We bought this to replace another diaper bag we had and what a great purchase. Within a week I’d spilled formula all over the outside (we have the gray) and it cleaned up super fast. Nothing leaked through to the inside, either. It’s also really easy to keep everything organized and easy to find because of the pockets. We’re active parents and spend a lot of time outdoors. We can spend a few hours at the park and bottles/snacks stay at the proper temperature. I also love that I can fit my laptop inside, which is super handy when heading out of town. We have enough gear to pack - with the Blissly I can consolidate work and baby gear in one bag without having to worry about my laptop or phone getting sticky, wet, dirty, etc. I’d buy this again in a heartbeat.

My very favorite thing about this bag is the USB port! My phone and iPad are always running out of juice so I love being able to charge up ... wherever. Watch out for bad zippers, though. The first one I received had zippers that went bad right away.Read more

@Shelby Sangster - I didn’t have zipper problems but the stitching on one of the straps started to come undone after a while. I’m handy ... enough to fix that sort of thing but others might want to be careful for it. Read more

We bought the Mokaloo in gray because we wanted something gender neutral. This bag met our needs. It’s waterproof too, which is nice. ... Only disappointment? The storage pockets are a bit small. Read more

We love Eddie Bauer, but feel I should warn you that this bag is NOT waterproof. The bag looks great but we had to replace it with a waterproof model from another manufacturer pretty quickly after buying it. Now ... we use it as a daypack for hiking and travel. The bag also tends to flop over (that’s how we found out that it’s not waterproof). Just watch out for that!Read more

@Jules Damico, Same thing happened to us. One ruined laptop later, we got another baby bag - waterproof this time.

We’re loyal Eddie Bauer customers and it was important to me to get a baby bag from a brand I know and trust. This bag is great for baby gear and for hiking, travel, etc. There are a few pockets to keep things ... organized, including insulated pockets for bottles. I can fit my keys, wallet and cell phone inside. It’s easy to clean. I did not want a bag that looked like a baby bag.Read more

This was supposed to be the last baby bag I was ever going to buy but it didn’t quite turn out that way. After waiting weeks and weeks for the bag to arrive, it finally came and I was initially ... excited. But after carrying it a few times I wound up going back to my old baby backpack. The pros are the bag’s style, soft leather, insulated pockets, stroller straps. But after 4 kids and a bad back, I need padded shoulder straps!!! The straps dug into my neck and shoulders, so I wound up carrying in my hand...with no top handle that was annoying. I wanted a bag that would get me through toddlerhood and beyond but wound up using my old bag with the padded straps. Also, the leather does stain when exposed to leaky bottles and other wet things. Oh, well. Read more

If you hate synthetic fabrics, definitely get this leather baby bag! I had to wait a few weeks to get it (it was out of stock) but it’s amaaaazing. It totally looks like a bag you’d carry to work or ... the gym. It fits everything I need and is waterproof on the inside. I was initially worried about getting a leather baby bag because I didn’t know if it would be durable enough but it’s turned out okay. I do wish it had a top handle.Read more

I bought the Ruvalino as a gift for my daughter. It was great at first but now it’s ripping at the seams and she’s only had it for a couple of ... months! Too bad - she really liked it otherwise.Read more

I bought this bag as a baby shower gift. So many of the bags nowadays don’t even look like baby bags! I wanted one that was fun ... and functional. I haven’t heard from the new mama (she didn’t register for this bag) but her mom told me she saw her using it.Read more
