My favorite is the Snuggle-Pedic - it has a breathable bamboo cover like you're looking for, along with shredded memory foam as a core. My husband and I both sleep on these pillows (me on my back, my husband on his side) and this pillow works for both of us. I know you can take out some of the filling in case the loft is too high, which is a great option, but neither of us have had to do that.

We like them so much we’ve started to buy them as gifts for our family and friends. We’ve gotten very positive feedback, especially from my brother-in-law who says it helped him stop snoring.

Has anyone tried taking some of the filling out of this pillow? What’s the shredded memory foam like?

It’s gel-infused memory foam which breathes really well and prevents you from getting too hot at night. I sleep on my back and it was a bit high for me, so I eventually took out a little bit of the filling. It was really easy, you just unzip the inner and outer pillowcases.

It didn’t make the pillow lumpy or misshapen, just a little lower so that angle of my head was more comfortable. No more waking up with a stiff neck!

I removed about three handfuls of filling because I like to sleep on my stomach, so it was too high at first. Super easy and they give you a little bag to put the memory foam pieces in. Now I really love this pillow -- it’s stopped me tossing and turning so much during the night! I’m also having fewer migraines, which is a nice change, to say the least.

If you’re looking for a bamboo pillow, the Snuggle Pedic shredded memory foam pillow is basically magic. It comes rolled up in a little box, and then expands to its full size over the next couple hours. The gel-infused memory foam is amazing. The bamboo cover is also lovely and cool and ridiculously soft. I have sensitive skin but this pillow is hypoallergenic and felt like heaven.

Totally agree. I’ve gone through a few different pillows to help with my neck pain, including previous Snuggle Pedic pillows, but this one is really a step up from anything else. The bamboo fabric always stays cool, and the pillow molds easily to your head, so there’s no pressure on your neck.

I can understand why some people have trouble spending more to get a better pillow, but I actually think the Snuggle Pedic is pretty reasonable, compared to a lot of other memory foam pillows. I’ve been very impressed with the quality. Everything seems really well made about it, including the cover, which is super breathable and makes it feel like I’m sleeping on a cloud.

That’s what I was hoping for when I bought it, but I have to fluff my Sweetnight Bamboo Pillow constantly or it goes flat and kind of hard.

It also took a lot longer than I expected for the chemical smell from the memory foam to go away.

You could try the Malouf pillow. It looked comfortable in all the photos I saw online, and the ‘Zoned Dough’ concept is cool so I picked one up recently. Hmm ... I had the opposite issue. Mine kept going flat! I had to keep flipping it over to get some of the height back.

That’s a shame to hear … I’ve had good luck with my Malouf pillow. It’s really different from any other pillow I’ve tried. It’s soft and squishy ... in the center so my head rests comfortably, but the edges are a bit firmer and my neck is alway supported. For my body shape, it works just right.
