@allenJo - I think it’s clear in either case that skipping meals to lose weight will do more harm than good.
When you skip meals (fasting) you are depriving yourself of nutrients, and as the article points out, you will speed up protein degradation. Put in layman’s terms, you will lose protein, not fat.
And where will that protein come from? It will come from muscle mass. Fat is the last thing to go; your muscles will waste away first. That’s not an outcome you want, believe me.
The sensible thing to do is to eat a balanced diet, get some protein and make the rest a mix of fruits and vegetables. Lost the weight slowly and you won’t lose the muscle mass.
