Everyone knows about the substance of laws that are passed. But many of us don't realize that courts also pass decisions about procedures as well.
The article has done a good job of pointing out how lack of knowledge about procedural law can cause someone to lose a case.
That's why procedural law also needs to be taught heavily in law schools. I think most schools do, but some do concentrate more on substantive law.
As for those who don't feel they need a lawyer, they might want to think about that decision again! Procedural law is important!
