As with overall affiliate marketing, this strategy focuses on placing affiliate ads on a relevant website and obtaining traffic to find potential buyers. Just as the name implies, niche affiliate marketing is affiliate marketing slanted toward a niche, or particular area. These articles are written using the appropriate keywords, and the affiliate’s code is added directly to the article or ads are placed around the website. The marketer is paid when someone clicks the affiliate ad and buys a product. While content websites are the most common, game websites and business websites that list the affiliate’s products can also be used.
Regardless of what type of website the marketer creates, making a site relevant to the niche is usually more successful than one that is irrelevant. For example, if the marketer makes a content website with articles about art, but uses ads about cars, this will typically get a very low amount of clicks. That is because the ads do not match the common visitor’s interests.
Most affiliate marketers participate in niche affiliate marketing, because it most often matches how people use the Internet. When someone searches the Internet for a topic, he or she is often looking for similar information on the same topic. By creating a niche affiliate website, the marketer is able to keep that person’s interest for longer and has a higher chance of garnering a commission.
