What is Kangen Water?

Kangen water is one of many brand names for so-called alkaline waters promoted as a healthier form of water with significant anti-oxidant properties. It's generally presented as the result of an electrolysis process which separates ordinary water (H20) into two separate entities. One half of the separated water becomes an acidic HO molecule, while the other becomes an alkaline OH molecule. The producers of Kangen water bottle the alkaline OH water for drinking purposes, while the acidic HO molecule is used for topical applications.

The name kangen is Japanese for "return to the origin," which helps to explain the philosophy behind its promotion as a health food. According to one theory, the human body needs both acids and alkalis to properly process foods, make repairs and generally remain in good working order. Ingesting too many acidic foods and beverages, most notably carbonated soft drinks, can lower the body's natural pH levels to dangerously acidic levels. Kangen water, or other alkaline or ionized waters, could help restore a the body's proper pH level and perhaps even become more alkaline, which would be a positive development, in theory.

Kangen water is one among many brands of alkaline water, which is believed to have antioxidant properties.
Kangen water is one among many brands of alkaline water, which is believed to have antioxidant properties.

Kangen water and other ionized or alkaline water products are also said to have smaller molecules, which means they are more readily absorbed by the body. Ordinary tap water or unprocessed bottled waters have larger water molecules which tend to pass through the body without reaching individual cells. Without proper re-hydration, these cells can suffer from a form of cellular dehydration and either die too soon or fail to function efficiently. Kangen water is believed to have the ability to rehydrate these cells before they essentially dry out.

While the science behind ionized or alkaline water is fairly solid, the main concern with Kangen water appears to be one of marketing. Kangen water is primarily sold through a multi-level marketing strategy, also known as an MLM. This means the marketer who actually sells the Kangen water company's deionizing machine to a customer must pass along part of the total profit to his or her manager, district supervisor, regional manager and so on. Under the Kangen water MLM system, there can be as much as an 8 way division of profits per sale, which means the price of the actual deionizing machine which creates Kangen water can be exceptionally high when compared to similar devices.

Kangen water can help restore the body's natural pH levels.
Kangen water can help restore the body's natural pH levels.

There are other deionizing systems which are said to produce the same or even better results than the Kangen water electrolysis system. Even orange juice produces the same level of negative ions as Kangen water. The idea of consuming more alkaline water for overall health benefits appears to have some merit, but it may not be strictly necessary to invest over $1,000 US Dollars (USD) in a water deionization machine when less expensive alternatives are available.

Los Angeles tap water contains added fluoride which is toxic. The Kangen machine does not remove it. Kangen water still contains this industrial waste additive.

I just had a seminar about Kangen water. I was curious if it's a scam or not so I goggled it until I found this article. Two days ago, I jogged after a year of doing it. When a woke up the next morning, I had pain all over my leg and I thought I got injured.

During this seminar, while listening they let us drink water as much as we want. After the seminar, I noticed, I couldn't feel the pain anymore. so I became more curious.

But I still don't believe it 100 percent. The person who invited me, offered me to give free supply of Kangen water for two weeks. I have acid reflux, so let's see if it works.

If it works, I won't still be able to buy it because the machine is very expensive!

I love Kangen Water and my body works now – finally, after 61 years. My skin is clear, my intestines work, sleep well every night, I don't get sick with UTI infections, and other infections, colds, I smell good and have lots of energy! That's because I actually drink the water! That's how it works!

Here's my analogy:

Someone once told me to try chocolate cake because it tastes good. I didn't believe them. So, I got on the internet and read an article about chocolate cake, then I read another and another and so on. I researched it, read about it and heard of thousands of people who had actually tasted it! But all the experts said it didn't taste good. Oh! I didn't know what to do because there was so much information on the internet that said 'taste it' then 'don't taste it' I was skeptical about tasting it, because I was stubborn and I wanted proof first. After reading all the articles though, I knew that millions of people loved the taste, but I was still not convinced that it tasted good.

Then I tasted the chocolate cake. The people who said it tasted good were right! It does tastes good! Just try the water. It works!

Kangen water is just a brand name for the alkaline water made using Enagic's Kangen water machine.

adrian91706

Great article, well said but a little down on the MLM idea when business is all build on pyramids regardless.

Kangen machines are built to last. whereas others are made in Korea. I think if I were taking a long trip, I would take a Toyota over a Kia any day. For my health benefits, my acid reflux is gone, (no meds), my blood pressure is normal (no meds, down 60 pounds) and there have been so many other changes in my life. I paid close to $4 thousand for mine. It was paid off in 18 months and I have free water as long as the machine lasts. They are built to last a very long time, as long as one keeps the maintenance up. So keep buying that cheap bottle water in the store and if you tally up the cost, you will see just how more money you're paying for water that has no health benefits. Kangen rocks! Good health has no price tag.

anon949794

There was a misunderstanding. The machine does not reduce the size of water molecule, period. It reduces the size of clusters of water molecules.

However, the Kangen machine is not the only one that can do that; many good water filters do that too.

anon939614

There is no possibility in this condensed matter universe that you can drink water that will change your body's pH. There may be a number of other universes in which this may or may not be of some benefit to certain not terrestrial species. Any truly WiseGeek will recognize this irrefutable truth. Normal blood pH is 7.4 +/-0.05 and is mostly regulated by respiration.

lq295

All up line managers get a piece of what you do, and a direct sales company is no different. Your manager gets paid for what your do, his manager gets paid for what you do and the CEO and president get paid for what you do. Most people don't understand this.

anon347518

This was a well written post. I'm actually a distributor of the Kangen water machines. I'm not here to tell you my story or try to sell you anything, but I did do some research on the subject because MLMs seem to get a bad rap.

If you're a large company like Aquafina (Coca-Cola, basically) you will spend million of dollars on advertisements and getting your product sponsored by celebs and what not. The mark ups for products that aren't MLM are usually around 300 percent. And the bottled water industry is probably more. If you can create educated, motivated sellers, then it is still profitable for the company.

The problem is, is the distributors can sometimes use aggressive marketing techniques to push products. The product is solid, but sometimes when people push to hard to sell it turns others off to the idea. Anyway, I love my machine, I've personally seen results in my own health and I wish all the rest of you healthy lives, however you choose to achieve that!

anon345116

@RichardBravo: Well written post and you provided the facts well. I'm a free thinker, myself. Anyone who wants a good explanation on how this works, read RichardBravo's post.

anon339756

Every person who purchases a Kangen filter becomes a salesperson, which means their personal experiences using the water are biased. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

anon335000

The only way Kangen water could be alkaline is to have a base dissolved into it. Calcium would work. Pure water has a neutral PH. Also, the idea that you can change the 'size' of a water molecule is so bogus it defies description.

anon332127

If you purchase a used Kangen water machine, how do you get the filters, pre filtration system and supplies that you need for the machine.

anon324071

Have you ever received more responses on any other concept? Drinking water with Fibromyalgia is a bit of a worry! Rest assured I'm starting to believe alkaline water is worth further investigation and definitely something I'll add to my home. Seriously, thanks so much for writing your posts!

anon319785

@RichardBravo: You really hit the nail on the head with all of your comments. I loved reading them all. I hope you don't mind that I borrowed one and posted it to my social media page.

I am noticing a trend reading these. The naysayers haven't tried Kangen Water for themselves. They are just more interested in spreading their negativity with no interest in learning about Kangen Water. And it's probably not only on here; I'll bet they are walking around and poisoning their home and work environments with their attitudes too.

I am currently on my second week and experiencing headaches. Why am I still drinking it? Because I know that it is a sign that it is detoxing my system and it will be short-term. Who wants to live and walk around with sickness in their bodies?

Anyway, no, I am not a distributor, but I do get the water for free.

anon310170

I bought a Tyent. The machine only worked a year and a half. I returned it, and they replaced it, but a year and half later that one failed, and they won't honor their warranty. They tried to say I hadn't paid in full. I submitted proof I'd paid in full, but they made up something other excuse.

Bottom line: they are ignoring me and the FTC, which reviewed my documentation and concur I'm entitled a refund. Ionizer yes, but steer clear of Tyent. Not reputable.

anon305867

How does one sell back the kangen machine if you do not need it anymore?

anon305140

I am lucky to have been able to try this water. My boyfriend has a machine so I'm drinking it.

As I type this, I have a really bad flu. I just got it yesterday. I have been having a fever, throwing up, and feeling so sore and crampy.

I have been drinking this water like crazy, like a couple gallons, and I feel better. I admit, you have to drink a lot, but this water is amazing. Also, whenever I have a hangover, one cup of this water cures me. It is truly amazing and if you don't believe it, well I feel sorry for you because you are missing out.

anon296152

I feel many of the users here are being misled. Kangen does not make cancer go away like a elixir.Kangen does not heal a person from a terminal illness. Kangen does not take away 10-30 years of your being a heavy alcoholic, a smoker or a victim of genetic illness.

What kangen does is to slowly detox your body, provide you with more antioxidants and cleanse your organs that are toxic.

You can't possibly drink fresh orange juice or top grade green tea every single time on a daily basis. Calculate that, and you will realize you str spending crazy money on it just to attain that negative ORP level. But you can invest in a kangen system that provides seven solid titanium coated platinum plates and can last you between 15 and 30 years.

You will experience some side effects for the first two weeks after drinking it, and that's normal. I had the nauseated sensation, dizziness and worse still, dark yellow pee for one whole week, regardless of how much kangen water I drank and I peed every 30 minutes with only 1.5 litres a day when I started 9.5 straight.

I changed to drinking 8.5 instead for a good two weeks and I do not have the side effects anymore. First of all, never have the mentality that it cures immediately, because that's simply not right.

You can choose from among five levels of pH to drink, so choose accordingly. I highly recommend drinking the 8.5 pH for a fresh start and after two weeks, jump to 9.0 pH for two weeks and then go for the 9.5 pH when you are comfortable. The side effects will be less severe when your body is adjusting to the water.

Many tell me that it's way too expensive, for a medical grade device used in thousands of restaurants and hundreds of hospitals in Japan.

But looking at it, you'll find this machine is made only in Japan, and not in some other country just to cut down the costs of manufacturing, and it's the long standing brand name that has been in the world market for over 30 decades, with hundreds and thousands of true reported testimonials.

Naturopaths and nutritionists talk about this, so what is there not to believe? Just give it a try.

josephlau

Kangen water is really amazing. The water apparatus such as the SD Series, SD501 (one of them) is actually certified as a medical device, and none of the similar products have ever been certified! So amazing is this medical device that the saying is true, "Change your water...change your life!" and revolutionize your lifestyle with this kangen water. I have personally experience kangen water to do wonders for my health! You can enjoy this health too.

anon270795

I purchased a Tyent 4 years ago. Love my machine, the water is clean and tastes wonderful. For those who believe it's a scam, just put tap water and ionized water in cups and test the pH. There's a huge difference.

I am satisfied I'm doing what's best for me and my family. I don't want to drink acidic water, plus it filters out the chlorine.

I drink the water all the time, and continue to have a proper pH balance.

anon270198

I feel there needs to be more studies done on this water.

anon270197

I drink this water, and have had some good results. However, there are things that begin to happen after I started drinking the water that have me questioning my choice to drink it.

I have fibromyalgia and it has not helped my pain. I had hardly been to the doctor in over five years. One month after drinking this water, I had to have my gallbladder taken out, started having acid reflux, a number of UTIs and broke out into severe hives and rashes. This was all because I was going through the change of life and the water seemed to enhance the symptoms. Each time I stopped drinking the water, the systems diminished. It does give you energy, and hydrates you.

I am not that trusting of this water but after reading, reading, and reading about what is mixed into some of the bottle water that we drink, I will stick with this water. It tastes better, and is very clean. The best results come from cooking with the water, making drinks from it and using the 2.5 which takes the sting out of a burn almost immediately.

anon263637

So-called "ionized water" is a total scam. For the real story about this subject look, up snake oil on tap. Most egregious are the misrepresentations of the work of Otto Warburg.

anon260742

I am one who doesn't run with scams, but when you talk about Kangen water, it is no way, no how a scam! I am a true witness that this water works and is good for you. I have been drinking the water for almost four years.

I can't drink regular water anymore. I know the difference. No colds, sickness or even infections, etc.

No lie. This water is really good for the health. Try it. Trust me. I am a true witness to kangen water.

anon253573

I have read the comments.

“I was hoping for an unbiased opinion about the nature of ionization and whether or not the body could achieve the same effect with something other the this type of water.”

Answer: Yes, you can do so if you can eat a lot of your food raw (70 percent) naturally grown under the sun without any chemicals and not on poor farmers' lands. To be healthy, we need to have bigger intake of natural rich with enzymes and trace elements vegetables, grains, a little protein, which also should be grown free run under the sun and not modified! Our blood pH mist be around 7.35.

Modern processed garbage that the industry calls food gives us a highly acidic environment in our bodies. It goes on and on for decades and then the body starts acting like an old car without proper maintenance; it breaks down.

Medical and pharmaceutical industries lead us everybody can see where. Every decade, the health of the population on average is getting dramatically worse. Just read the stats.

There is actually a lot of information, but they hide it in professional websites and magazines away from the public. They cannot make you be healthy!

Will anybody nowadays argue with this? They only can help in some urgent cases, granted, but then they treat you to death.

So, you can read for the beginning Shinya "The Enzyme Factor", but actually there are a lot of books and information in that regard. You can do research on raw food, enzymes and balance health. Unfortunately, most of the information in English has no free access.

I will buy this machine soon because I see it as a way to help to balance my body pH at least a little bit. I would prefer to eat naturally grown healthy food, but who can afford it today?

I do not mean the so called "organic" gimmick which is not much better. For example I bought eggs in a store yesterday and they taste fishy! What does that mean? It means that poor chickens were fed some kind of crap made from fish leftovers. Chicken cannibals. These meats and eggs are not healthy and it's the same story with other stuff.. Processed food and junk food industry are even worse, and yeah, they call McDonald's a restaurant!

“Also, is there truth to the claim that cancer cannot grow in an alkaline environment?”

Answer: It is not the whole truth. There should be a much longer explanation. There are cancers that start growing in very acidic inflammatory environment (most cancers), but some of them have grown in an alkaline (some skin cancers for example).

One who believes that "trained medical professionals" know better can go and be the medical industry's next client. Freedom of choice! Yeah!

anon249715

Acid equals bad. Alkaline equals good.

Why are some of you people actually debating this from the side of science and medicine? Have you already forgotten history? How many mistakes did modern medicine make in the last 10/20/50/100 years, huh? And how about science? I mean, a few hundred years ago the earth was flat and the sun revolved around it.

Are you going to say that medicine and science are bulletproof now, even though endless medications are getting recalled all the time and science keeps changing its tune every couple of years?

So hey, please stop arguing that science and medicine are on your side when they are also wrong a lot of the time.

Kangen water makes alkaline water. Alkaline is good for your body, and acid is bad for your body. How much simpler can it be?

So what's so bad about Kangen water? Well, $4,500 for a home unit!

anon248474

What credentials do you have to write such an article on ph water? If you do any research first, you will find doctors disagree with you highly. Do you have more wisdom and insight than a trained professional who went to eight years of school? Water is the cause of many different illnesses. If not, why is there a disclaimer on all water reports to seek your physician's advice before drinking the water?

You should be ashamed of yourself for misleading people with your bottled up anger because you had a bad experience in whatever area.

anon246555

@suspidous20: You should not drink this water 30 minutes to one hour before and after you take your prescription meds and not to stop your meds. We let the doctors decide if there will be any change in meds or dosage.

Their machine makes acidic water and not acid.

The author should study this subject carefully first before writing such article. The author doesn't know the difference between MLM and direct selling, or anything about marketing/costing.

dhartrum

I am not a doctor, nurse, chemist, biologist, scientist, or emt. I have very little background in research and I am very open to looking at an unbiased and certified report about the product that is being debated with such passion.

It is difficult to form an opinion with such varying opinions and statements of fact? I was hoping for an unbiased opinion about the nature of ionization and whether or not the body could achieve the same effect with something other the this type of water.

Also, is there truth to the claim that cancer cannot grow in an alkaline environment?

anon244104

Those of you who are saying those negative comments have never tried it. There is no way you would still think that. Try it. If you still believe that, then more power to you. But, there is no way to deny it once you've used it. It's amazing! And, I am not a distributor. I have no gain in saying this. It's simply the truth!

anon235204

Skeptical at first, but now a believer.

1. My teeth don't itch any longer.

2. I can see through walls.

3. I can read people's thoughts.

4. My step-mother likes me now.

5. People will believe anything if they're told enough lies!

anon214965

Well, I'm not too convinced about the health benefits of it, but I love to experiment wit the different pH when I am cooking. Water is pretty much tasteless, but the more acidic or basic it is, it affects how food turns out.

For example, to make ramen noodles from scratch, or good pretzel dough I need water that is pH 9 to 9.5 to get the glutens to start breaking down, but I don't want to add chemicals to change that or the flavor of the noodles would uffer. I can't get kansui water here, so kangen water will have to do

anon212609

Pseudo science. Junk science. Load of crap. Marketing is so amazing.

shayla

I love Kangen water. Only Enagic machines can make Kangen water. I was on seven different medications for over 25 years and now taking only one occasionally since drinking Kangen water for one year. The Enagic web site tells the truth about their amazing Japanese medical devices. The Enagic Company does not compare themselves to any other Ionizer because they are superior, the others are inferior and therefore are always comparing themselves to Enagic by price or other misleading info.

My advice: You get what you pay for. Although Enagic has ionizers from $1280 to $5980, the least expensive one is still of superior quality to other ionizers, and this will be common knowledge one day.

Just a note: Enagic has a direct sales, patented eight point structure, not MLM. However, the importance is the message of Kangen water going out to the masses. Thanks for reading. Samples are free so get yourself hydrated with Kangen water!

anon205960

My name is Janette and I live in San Antonio Texas. I suffer with Fibromyalgia and arthritis. The arthritis is very bad in my pelvis, spine legs and feet. Mostly my knees bother me. For three days I drank the Kangen water then my right knee swelled up very bad and was extremely painful. The woman who sold my son the machine said it was because of the arthritis medicine that has built up in it and needs to be released.

Well, I stopped it for one day and tried a lower dosage for the next two days like she recommended. Nothing is helping. I am going to have to go see a doctor about this. The saleslady said she hears this kind of thing a lot. Five days after starting this water, (which left my mouth dry and I did not crave more like others said it did), I also still have pain all through my body from the fibro. I am believing that it is all in the mind.

I am worse off after drinking the stuff. I have stopped completely now. You really could be damaging yourself in the long run. I told my son to take it back and if he must have one, buy a used one please. I hate to see him getting cheated. He, unfortunately, is a fool where his money is concerned and buys into all kinds of schemes. I have to go and put my painful legs up now.

anon204699

Here's the whole scoop. Alkaline water is not God's way. Foods, particularly vegetables, fruits, nuts, spices and herbs grown in mineral-rich soil are God's way. Good soil should consist of 45 percent minerals, not NPK chemicals. There are 14 main minerals (not chemically 3)and many trace minerals that are necessary for plants to manufacture the vitamins/antioxidants and other nutrients required by the body for proper nutrition, longevity and prevention of degenerative diseases. These minerals are necessary co-factors of enzyme activity which is the catalyst for most all bodily functions.

As our minerals have been depleted in our soils, it is now necessary to supplement our plants and bodies with them for proper nutrition. The ocean is the perfect source with all 92 minerals and trace elements present in their proper natural balance. Minerals, not alkaline water, are God's answer to buffer and balance the acids present in our bodies. If God wanted us to have "alkaline" water he would have provided it.

anon204657

Since I've not even able to afford a machine, I have been getting the water from whatever distributors I can and to be honest I start to feel 'withdrawals' after a few days of not having it.

The positives are that it gives me energy. The downside is I sort of feel a bit bloated sometimes, they're not kidding when they say don't take meds with this water because I think it does intensify what you consume with it, so if I eat any junky food with it I really feel it!

anon204272

Kangen water has been good for my running routine -- no lactic acid pain and no aching joints. Compared to the way I used to feel after running, it’s pretty amazing. It also clears up eczema between my fingers, guaranteed, as long as I keep drinking the water. Same with running: if I don’t drink the water, I do feel aches pretty quickly after stopping and my muscles get sore from running. The only things I don’t like about the machine, apart from the cost, is it takes a lot of maintenance to keep it in good working order (I should be cleaning it once a week -- I don’t -- and I also have a ceramic sediment filter that I need to clean every two weeks -- I don’t) and it really seems to make my eyes watery, to the point where I have to squint sometimes and they actually sting. Not sure if it’s related but it seems like my eyes are suffering due to being over hydrated. Has anyone else heard of this or experienced this? Maybe I’m just getting old and need my eyes tested.

I’ve never heard anyone telling anybody to stop taking their meds but I wouldn’t be surprised. It’s MLM and there are people who get really into the selling part without doing their research or maybe they don’t really pay attention when they hear things like “Kangen water can help the body to self regulate and some people who have high blood pressure can see dramatic results and can eventually come off of their blood pressure medication.” That said, most people I’ve met who are drinking and selling Kangen water are just happy-clappers who want the whole world to be drinking Kangen. I don’t really care about educating other people on the benefits of Kangen because how other people live is none of my business, so I have never sold a machine, but if anyone asks me, I’ll tell them about my experience.

anon200238

I love this water! It has changed our lives and the lives of everyone we know that is drinking it. This technology is a blessing. Let those that will, drink it and have healthier lives. For the rest, that's your choice. What do you have to lose? Give it an honest try for at least 30 days. The longer you drink it the better.

anon200235

The bottle says don't drink the alkaline water for 30 minutes before or after taking medication.

anon198404

Kangen Water is a load of horse crap.

anon195155

Alkaline ionized water has helped me lose over 30 pounds and feel amazing! I have been drinking the alkaline water for three years now and from the very beginning, I noticed a huge difference in the way I felt and looked! Everyone around me kept making comments about how my face looked thinner and my eyes looked brighter.

I have always been a big water drinker and never big on sodas, but I am telling you: as soon as I changed my water to alkaline ionized, my whole life changed! Thanks to All Things Alkaline affordable ionizers, I feel better than ever!

anon192370

I love the water and share it with tons of family and friends. They all love it!

anon186920

"I don't care what college courses you have taken." First, that's crap spouted by people who haven't gone to college. Second, the guy was stating observable fact: The body regulates pH tightly, and when a person's pH does go out of whack, they get *acutely* sick *very* quickly. As in, moribund in a matter of seconds. Not chronic. Water won't fix it. That's speaking as an EMT who has seen it, not just read about it in books.

And where did this micro-clustered molecules crap come from? Surely that would have to come from college types (or shysters masquerading as college types but whatever). How come one college guy is 'meh, that's just book-smarts' and the other gets, 'Wow! Micro-clustered molecules?'

For what it's worth, I had access to one of these machines a while back. I set it to pH2, let it run through for a while, filled a glass and threw in some baking soda. Nothing happened.

anon181067

Read "Eat Right For Your [Blood] Type." Some of us are more acidic than others and prone to certain illnesses, but simple adjustments to the diet can create a positive effect, and it's natural: food. I suspect folks feel better because they've stopped drinking soda.

anon178171

Now i went to the kangen water information day and like the demonstration. What strikes me is that the people present all talked about their experiences: they felt better, their hair grew, cancers were cured, etc. and bottled water is bad. This was all demonstrated by a colorful chart and an experiment by adding chemicals to the various waters, sodas, etc.

It sounds too good to be true, almost a miracle! People felt better by drinking water! Then i tasted the kangen drinking water which tastes smooth. Now I drink a lot of filtered water already, work out and eat no processed food, do not eat out more than once a week, preferably japanese, thai or vietnamese and followed health classes at Duke University, so i will not be surprised if it does not do much for me. I'll give it a shot, but the machine is way too expensive to even consider buying!

According to the sales people, this product has been on the market for 37 years! Now all these years looking into living healthier no one, not even my father, who was a doctor, has told me about Kangen water and that it was good for me. Now i am researching and checking it with my friends from Japan, Duke University and others.

My grandfather told me if it's too good to be true and expensive, do not buy it! I am cynical and have not yet read any scientific proof about the claims the sales people made. Yes I am cynical and do not believe the stories of others. If this kangen machine is so good, why have i not read about them in consumers report, aarp, etc.? However i will do more research to find out more and let you know.

For now i drink lots of filtered water, work out, do not smoke and do not eat fried or processed foods, more fish and follow the Duke University fitness and diet program as best as i can.

anon175560

You know the first couple times I smoked crack I felt a little better too. I just talked to a neighbor that lives in a 3000$ mobile home who just paid 4K for this thing to save his dog's life. The dog is still alive two weeks after the vet said his time would run out. But, I asked him if he had gone back to the vet (no way).

It's so sad, the dog is 15, he is going to die, but do you crush the man and tell him he is just a fool. I'd like to crush the person that sold a desperate man, who loves his dog, a terrible lie. Please don't be so stupid. Just drink plenty of water, and don't put so much junk in your system. How many of these enthusiasts are at the bottom of the distribution pole. It's water, move to Zepherhills Fl and the good stuff comes right from the faucet, you even get to flush with it.

MLM? MLM! So what. MLM is the biz of the century. Any product can go on MLM. Just as long as you know there's cheaper units of ionizers that produces alkaline water, it's your choice. MLM is for those who thought of doing a business and gaining from it while introducing and recommending good stuff to people.

I've been drinking Kangen water for six months. I've lost 35 pounds, have more energy and I didn't have to take allergy medications last fall nor so far this spring.

Of course I haven't drunk any carbonated beverages since then either, and I don't miss them. I think most of you drink so much soda that it would take you forever to feel better.

missditty

When I first heard of Kangen water, I was a total skeptic. A neighbor started giving me the water and explaining the product to me. After a lot of what I thought was due diligence, I finally became convinced that there was a lot of value to the water.

I went into partnership and bought the SD501 with a woman friend. Because only one person can occupy a position in the Enagic structure, we signed up under my friend's name and set up a separate partnership agreement between the two of us.

I was very enthusiastic and shared the water with a lot of friends, and did demos and attended demos by others, went to the lunches and seminars. However, I found it difficult to make sales. The pitch that Enagic people give you is that you don't need to do sales, you just need to share the water. In fact, you must be a skilled closer in order to sell something as overpriced as the SD501.

Once you become a distributor, you are encouraged to offer a variety of ways to finance a machine. One way we were encouraged to sell was to convince the prospect to refinance their house, which always made me extremely uncomfortable.

Enagic does offer a payment plan, but we were asked to offer that only as a last resort. The reason it was a last resort is because the sales commission on the Enagic plan is paid only when the last payment is made, and folks would invariably choose a 16-month payment plan. This means that you could be good at sales and maybe sell 10, 20, 40 or more, but most of the commissions would not reach your pocket until 16 months later.

Along the way, I started to question a few things. There was all kinds of information that using alkaline water was terrific for your plants! Then, I'd hear that it was the acidic water that was what was best for plants!

The truth is that each plant has a different ph, and you must research that before you start thinking that you can just dump alkaline or acidic water on a plant.

Also, Kangen enthusiasts urge you to give the alkaline water to your pets. I gave my cats alkaline water diligently for over a year. At one point, my male cat became gravely ill and had to have emergency surgery. He had built up many, many kidney stones which had completely blocked his urethra until he couldn't pee.

I looked up the proper cat ph level only after the surgery. A cat's proper ph level is acidic, at 6.0 or 6.5. Alkalinity in a cat can produce kidney stones. I truly regret blindly following the Kangen enthusiasts' advice to give alkaline water to my cats.

Some $1,500 later, I can report that my cat is fine and I will never endanger his life again with alkaline water. Add that $1,500 to the cost of the machine, the cost of seminars, the cost of gas to run to different demos to support your fellow distributors.

I read one of the comments above by a person whose aunt developed a serious problem because of over-alkalinity. I urge you all to understand that it is not a good idea to blindly advocate alkaline water as a miracle for plants, pets and people -- we are not all built the same way.

At one point, an Enagic video was released by Enagic attorneys. Distributors were instructed not to make any health claims. The only claim we were legally able to make is that Kangen water would hydrate. Which is what water does. By the letter of law, the only thing that Kangen water does is hydrate.

At one point, my upline distributor called me and asked if I would give her one of my credit card numbers so that she could fix her water heater. This woman had reached a 4a level, which meant she had made a number of sales. I was astounded and refused to give her my credit card number.

One thing I found odd about that request is that if the system is so lucrative, why didn't she have the money to fix her heater? Why didn't this woman go to her uplines to ask for money? Theoretically, her uplines should be doing very well financially. Why ask a downline for a credit card number?

Someone on this forum asked about why you can't take medication with alkaline water, only the neutral clean water? Distributors are taught that the alkaline water can cause the medication to enter your system too quickly. That sounded reasonable to me, and I spouted that information back to potential buyers.

However, I came across information by a chemist that alkaline water can interact with medications and create dangerous by-products. I encourage readers to do their own research and come to their own conclusions.

I think a lot of people experience better health with Kangen water because they are simply drinking more water, and are more aware of the necessity. I do think Kangen water can help with acid reflux, and some colon conditions, but I would add this story as a word of caution: I read a story by a Kangen enthusiast who had been drinking Kangen water for ten years. He stated that eventually the alkaline water had changed his stomach's ability to digest food and that he developed acid reflux because he had used alkaline water for so long. I can't verify the validity of that. I just suggest that you do your own research and keep in mind that perhaps long-term use of alkaline water isn't necessary or advised.

As I gradually developed more and more questions and reservations about Enagic and Kangen water, I had a discussion with my partner about wanting to withdraw. My partner had another Enagic distributor, Miss X, who was sniffing around. Miss X said that if no sales had been made within a year, that my partner could change uplines. That turned out to be a business proposition that wasn't true, and led to a very confusing and uncomfortable dissolution of the partnership I had.

In order for my friend to go under Miss X, she had to purchase another machine. The position in the Enagic system that my friend and I had shared was closed. I am still waiting for final payment of my share of the joint SD501 unit.

I did make one sale during this experience. I expressed concern that the commission on this sale would be forfeited if the position my partner and I shared was closed. Miss X's upline told me that was not true and that I wasn't seeing the forest for the trees.

In fact, the information this upline gave me was incorrect, and the commission was forfeited.

My long-winded point is that some Enagic distributors don't bother with fact, whether it be on the business end or the health claims end.

Lastly, craigslist and Ebay are cluttered with used SD501's. You can get a used SD501 for under $2,000. If you are undecided about buying a unit, consider this as an alternative to putting out over $4,000; with tax and handling fees, the total cost is close to $4,500.

I would just pose this one last question: if the Enagic machines are the miracle that is claimed, why are so many ending up on craigslist or Ebay?

1) You can't "hydrate" water as Kangen claims.

2) The company is a multi-level ('pyramid') scheme

3) First we have all the folks who believe in cider vinegar as a cure (quite acidic), and now we want to believe in alkaline water. Neither has any scientific study backing their claims, only snake oil testimonials. Placebo effect in action!

4) You have every right to buy this filter if you wish, and you are entirely responsible if you suffer harm as a result. Throw away your medicines at your own risk, and don't whine if you get hurt. "Ignorance is a capital offense"

5) As a physician with 30 years experience, I've seen these products come and go, generally after harming quite a few people, both financially and medically.

6) "Never ask a barber if you need a haircut" - never rely on a Kangen salesperson's pitch. Instead, investigate unbiased sources that aren't trying to make money off of you.

I never got the name kangen, but my co-worker used to bring a cooler jug to the site all the time and razz me about drinking coffee, (I like this guy aside from him being a bit of a hippie). he badgered me into drinking this so-called ionized water. (I was a major skeptic). It did taste better than average bottled or tap water, but I didn't pay it much credit though.

After several days I began to wait for him to give me a cup at breaks and lunch. Now that's just preference talking (I liked the taste), but the fact that I had loads more steam and could now run hard for longer made me think.

After working with this guy for eight months I can honestly say I felt great! better than ever before actually. now I still drink coffee and I always drank lots of water (I work in the sun and heat) but it was apparent this water was above average and had done more than hydrate me.

Through that winter my kids and wife took ill on several occasions and I did not (and I am the most exposed to mass groups of people). I have not been so lucky thus far, my co-worker went back to Cali. and calls to chat now and again and I just wish I had more of his water. it's not psychological. It's real.

High end scientists have been guilty of so many things in the past, including suppression (a good thing that never gets out) withholding, (they know well it's not good for you but are financially bound (agreed to for casholla) to keep it secret) at the expense of you and me and our children.

This water is good stuff, and if I ever find out how to make it/one I'll spread it around the net so thick you'll be able to cut it with a butter knife. Then we can all judge for ourselves (for free) if it is good for you and if it was free. we could all be healthier. that's good, right? --RJStiggs

In 2005 my mom was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. Being on meds she ballooned up like crazy. They were steroids for her muscles. She found this water, and she's not needed to take her meds since then. Believe it's a scam if you wish. I believe otherwise.

I thought and experienced the exact same thing as anon 205. I out work all my subs in their 20s and 30s. Been drinking the water for 18 months. Now I don't even see them in second place; energy and focus out the roof. It's not magic and it's not the water only. it's the charge on the minerals in the water. Simple and effective.

Thanks Kangen and Enagic.

anon167684

Total marketing woo-woo. I've been drinking filtered water nearly exclusively for decades, no special Kangen, alkali, ionized, or crystal magic involved, just plain filtered water, and I get the flu every five or six years and never go to a doctor (no need).

I'm not overweight, my health is fine for my age, I use no pharmaceuticals, and don't exercise, but I can out work any of my peers and plenty of much younger folk (I'm 56).

The secret is water, just water. It's the elixir of life. Stay hydrated with water and no electronic "magic" is needed for it to do its work inside us.

bmw57

To - anon164478: Nobody cares about how much you know or what chemistry background you have. Consider buying a machine before you make any general inferences about something you have never experienced. The process of ionization has not been disputed by reputable sources. You also neglect micro-clustering, which in tap water is about 14-15 molecules, and in kangen it occurs at about 5-6 molecules, which allows it to penetrate at a cellular level, breaking down harmful agents in your system.

anon166516

Kangen water truly is amazing. I've been drinking it for two years now, and have never felt better. Anon9931, get a life and stop bashing Kangen water.

anon166503

Anybody who denies Alkali water its credit is either a person who hasn't tried it, or if they did, they were drinking alcohol and soda and a bunch of other crap. I have been drinking Kangen water since October of 2010. I have not been sick all winter. I haven't had a cold, flu, fever, nothing. Is it placebo? Yeah right, placebo would not keep me sick free especially since my sister who slacked on the drinking for a day or two ended up having the flu.

I felt the flu coming on one day and I just drank the hell out of the water. Guess what? It never came. Placebo? Yeah right. Tell that to my sister who stopped drinking it and caught the swine flu. Which by the way I didn't get. My health is a lot better since this water. You can feel the silkiness of the water because of the micro-clustered molecules. You feel absorption within 10 minutes. If you haven't tried an ionizer, then shut up. I don't care what college courses you have taken. Unless you have tried this water for a good three months -- and only this water.

People are always trying to discredit stuff to prove how intelligent they are. When in reality you look dumb to me. Forget you and your degree.

anon165495

So, for all the advocates of this: anybody here ever heard of something called the placebo effect? I suggest you look it up. This water is nothing more than another snake oil scam.

Anyone with a basic knowledge of chemistry, biology and physics could tell you that. 'Smaller molecules'. Sorry but what utter, utter bunkum.

anon164478

How many of you that claim this water is amazing have taken a basic chemistry or physiology class? As a biochemist, I've taken plenty of both.

Your body controls your blood pH through various processes that do not involve outside chemical influence, other than oxygen and CO2. If your blood was as acidic as this company claims, we would all be dead. Your body does this for you, so why dish out thousands for something that is going to have no effect on your blood pH?

This company is full of advertisers and MDs, and let me tell you, just because someone is an MD does not make them an expert on the topic. It means they are good at memorizing information. Most of them have spent hardly any time in an actual research laboratory. This can be seen by their lack of references for all of their claims. And if they did provide references you have to be careful to read the papers to determine if "good" science is being done.

I recommend you don't buy into this scam. Instead eat healthy, drink plenty of water, around pH 7.0, and get exercise. That's the best equation for a healthy body.

anon162780

This is the best water in the world!

i am amazed by how big of a difference I felt beforehand, and it even has a taste that would make you want to drink more and more of it.

all that i can basically say is that this water, kangen water, has drastically changed my entire life/lifestyle.

anon162170

i don't know about the rest, but i read about Tony Robbins, alkalize your diet or something like that. search for it.

To make it short, i wanted to try that expensive machine but to fork out $4G? No way, so i searched and found portable water alkalizer, (i wonder what alkazets does?) so i got it for a few days. I wanted to drink the water right away and drank lots of it, but got a headache (After reading the manual, I know I should have not done that) but after a few days, my energy went through the roof, but I don't know how.

for my skin, i don't know about that (haha). i compare this alkaline water to Neosporin. It helps healing, so to speak. who knows what alkaline water really does, but for me, it works for some parts. i don't know for others. it's totally up to you.

another thing, i use it for brushing. Try it to figure out what i mean, but we're not all the same. You may like it or you may not, but whatever works for you. Stick with it (check with your dentist after a while ).

anon161539

Some of the posts about this water are just hilarious, people who know absolutely nothing about it claiming it does nothing. This water is a miracle. It can help cure very deadly diseases such as cancer, e-coli and others. Also, this is the only medically approved PH balancing water system with a high-antioxidant level.

anon160324

Something just occurred to me: sickness and death are natural parts of life. To say that becoming more healthy means returning to a more natural state would thus imply not the eradication of disease entirely but limiting it to a "normal" amount, right?

If the expectation of using this product, or any other product like this, is to live an unnaturally long time and without any sort of illness, is not only unrealistic but an unnatural lifestyle. The lifespan of humans has risen exponentially over the past couple of centuries. We easily reach ages of eighties and nineties on a regular basis.

Nature uses disease and death to control our numbers and, by proxy, resources for everything that lives on this planet. We will never eradicate disease entirely and I don't think it's a healthy goal to aspire to.

anon160173

what a scam. people like this should not be allowed to claim such bunk. are we wo stupid that we can't see through the crap. When you start messing with the fragile balance of the body, you better be close to an ICU, because that is sure to be where you will end up. it is called metabolic alkalosis and will cause death if not treated.

anon160170

funny how all you people are touting this crazy water. this overpriced piece of equipment just put my 88 year old Aunt into metabolic alkalosis, that they may not be able to reverse without dialysis. Too bad people listen to these scams.

anon157544

Kangen does not produce biological effects. Your body does that job. Kangen water is only a tool (one of the best tools) utilized by your body to heal itself. Wake up. The individual who wrote this article is either badly advised, confused or ignorant of solid science methodology.

anon154198

No one in the water ionizer industry really knows how Kangen water produces the biological effects experienced by users. Yet to maintain credibility with consumers they have to concoct some kind of plausible scientific explanation for how it works. The fact that claims about Kangen water being ionized or alkaline are baloney makes it easy for skeptics to debunk the whole thing and cry scam.

The real science about how Kangen water works has been kept hidden by governments for the last sixty years because this is seen as disruptive technology. I mean the world would become a crowded place if everyone lived to 120 and birthrates remained the same.

Also, what would happen to the enormous investment in conventional medicine once most of it becomes redundant overnight? Then there is the problem of two thirds of the medical profession having to find alternative employment.

The phenomenon present in Kangen water that produces the wide range of biological effects has been extensively studied in classified labs. What they discovered in the 1950s is something astounding that will have profound importance for the future of mankind and that is no one has to die - at least not for a very long time. They now have technology that can extend the human lifespan indefinitely.

Here are some notes on how Kangen water really works. Forget about water being ionized or alkaline. What is really going on is the platinum coating on the electrodes of the electrolysis cell is acting as a catalyst to stimulate the production of minute electric arcs on the positive electrodes.

This is the same technique that is used to produce the so called 'cold fusion'. I could go into more details here but suffice to say that these electric arcs charge the water with magnetic energy. This is a magnetic, rather than electric phenomenon.

Incidentally, I am not convinced that there are no potential health risks that could arise from platinum leaching into the water.

waterwise

A little irritated that I just spent a good 10 minutes writing a review and it disappeared when I had to sign up.

The cliff notes version:

I don't drink cola. My beverages of choice are milk and water: three glasses of milk a day (one with each meal) and about 8-10 glasses of water. I keep tap water in the fridge in reused bottles. My husband swapped our tap water with Kangen water without telling me.

I got severe headaches and had to use the restroom several times an hour. This happened for several days and then quit. I got compliments on how nice my skin was (I have no beauty routine. I wash my face with body wash in the shower). I have energy saps during my mensrtual cycle and the week leading up to it. No sap in energy.

Other things happened, too. The one I distinctly noticed was one day I had to leave the house without eating breakfast and when I returned home, it was so hot that I just grabbed the bottle of water from the fridge and guzzled. I waited for the empty stomach, cold water slosh of pain. It didn't happen. I joked with my husband that I thought they added something to the water supply.

He confessed that he'd been switching the water for two weeks. I read up on what I could. I also did a test with several waters and pool supply pH test kits. The Kangen water was the only one on the alkaline side. I talked to my doctor and he told me that the headaches and bathroom trips were signs of detoxification.

I feel that those that call this placebo effect are either A: people who have never used the water or B: people that tried it for a day, but didn't stop drinking cola or sports drinks.

It takes over 30 glasses of Kangen water to undo the damage of one can of cola. It also takes several weeks on any new plan to see true results. I haven't lost any pounds but I'm two sizes smaller in six weeks with no changes to my lifestyle. I never drink cola and I eat food that I grow myself or bake myself. I don't do prepackaged meals. So if I can see a benefit from this water, it's real.

Think about something. Other countries have put a ban on many brands of bottled water and colas. There is a reason for this and it has to do with health.

In Japan you pay your doctor to stay well. If you get ill, you stop paying until you are well again. The Japanese have some of the healthiest and longest living individuals on the planet. One in 5 homes in Japan drink Kangen water. They have some of the lowest cancer, diabetes and heart disease cases in the world. The US has an average of 1-3 people that drink cola daily and the highest obesity, heart disease, cancer and diabetes rate in the world.

anon151607

Kangen water is similar to an MLM, called Direct Selling - but it is not an MLM - there are no levels which is the 'L' from MLM. MLM has a terrible name because the father of MLMs, Amway, used and abused the business model. But actually, aside from those abusive companies who have scammed countless people and charge $50 for materials, this is actually a very good way to market a product.

Someone above mentioned that we should go buy our stuff in 'shops'. Like Best Buy and Circuit City? That way, we can pay advertisers and tv companies 1/4 of the cost of the product? Because that's exactly what you're doing! With this product and others like it, the money stays with the people - word of mouth advertising.

It's brilliant: so much so that Congress has incentivized home based businesses through huge tax write offs. Why? Because they know that this is the economy of the future, and that if we lose our big dinosaur job, we'll have a fallback plan. And trust me, those old dinosaurs are dying off one at a time.

In the future, many Americans will be private contractors, able to be nimble, quick and competitive, while working from home with their family. That's where I'll be in a few short months, thanks to Enagic and Juice Plus. Oh, and the best part is, I'm guiding people back to health and wellness, whereas you who buy products in your 'shops' are subsidizing Coca Cola and the rest of the sickness industry. Cheers.

anon151220

Guys, this is an MLM.

O.K., let’s ignore the oxidation-reduction potential, anti aging stuff. Let’s ignore the alkaline is the saviour, acid is the killer claims. Let’s forget for a second that our blood is an acid-based equilibrium reaction that is buffered to prevent pH change, and that an excess of either one applies stress to this reaction.

It’s an MLM for god’s sake. An MLM. Do you know what that is? Do you know that products that are worth something do not get distributed using an MLM strategy? Alkaline water has been around commercially for what, like 50-60 years? I’m not really sure, but it’s been a long time. Over the years, companies kept coming up with better sounding ionizers, more plates, more platinum and platinum is shiny and expensive! But it didn’t stick. The same ionizers get sold for prices varying by the thousands of dollars. And when all is said and done, I can build a water ionizer myself, in my own room or backyard, using materials I pick up at the local Home Depot. And it will cost me the price of an ipod shuffle.

So please, do yourselves a favor, and buy an ipod shuffle. As far as I’m concerned, music will probably do just as well, if not better than your ionizer, and it won’t hit your wallet so hard, either. If you are interested in a more expensive miracle, they do have those nice ipod touches. They even have a shiny stainless steel plating on the back, not to mention the touchscreen! Who knows, there might even be a water ionizing app.

The only people I have ever seen commending Kangen water, or any ionized water by that matter, are those who have no idea what they are talking about in terms of general chemistry or multi level marketing. When they speak -- and oh boy do they speak, trying to pass on their product for an extra buck -- I can barely bear to listen to their words. I believe it’s comparable to the words of a religiously misled person. Pity? Yes, I feel it, but I suppose it’s nice to see people happy in what they see as being a miracle. I still wish they didn’t shell out $4k for it though. Good on you, Mr. Oshiro. The U.S. sure makes for an easy market, and I bet you enjoy blowing your hard-earned dough down at the nightclubs, don’t ya?

Oh. I haven’t tried it? Yes, actually, I have. Probably the funniest moment was when I unknowingly selected the acidic tomato as the tastier one, and when performing the same test on the person who introduced Kangen water to us, they did the same! And the pH measurement of our tap water was neutral, to their disappointment.

Well, I guess I’ll give it another shot when I get cancer, back problems, headaches, allergies, unruly kids, or a leaky radiator.

anon149924

A placebo is simply faith. Faith works. Faith is all any creative or entrepreneur has to begin with. It is by somebody's faith or placebo that jobs are created, cars are invented, planes are invented, homes are designed. Faith, placebo.

However, Kangen water is simply based in simple faith in the science that good water is better than bad water.

Dehydration is the cause of so many health issues. Your body is 75 percent water. The earth is 2\3 water. Faith or placebo in the science of good verse bad water is just faith in better than worse. Even skeptical people have faith or placebo. It is just faith in a negative form.

anon148532

Just have to say: It appears as though Kangen water is being mysteriously linked to everything from dietary issues, to lost weight, to more energy, to healing cancer and even raising the dead.

Anyone who is not familiar with the "placebo effect" is not likely to be a good candidate for even discussing this. (Especially if you tried it and liked it.)

The kind of reported benefits from Kangen water are typical to placebo effect type treatments. (Including magnets, crystals, etc.) I'd love to see how many of the Kangen water fans also use other "alternative" medicines.

Also, just because a person expresses skepticism in this does not mean they are linked to a multi-corporate conspiracy to keep people sick.

Hate to tell you this, but sickness has been around a whole hell of a lot longer than "dirty water."

The water is not to blame and is not the solution. Sorry.

Medicinally, the water is incapable to producing a lot of the reported health changes. All in all, I'm raising a flag.

It's placebo. Nothing else. Hell, if it works for you, go ahead. Enjoy your placebo.

Don't bash the rest of the world though for not "joining the ranks". Respectfully, The Rad.

anon145864

I have to tell you I thought it would be the biggest load of crap ever, but I had to try it anyway.

I have to take diuretics because of another health problem, and although I drink a lot of water I ache constantly and feel fluey. They started selling alkali water here at the hospital where I work so i thought I would try it. I have to say, I don't ache when I drink it. I don't know why I really don't, and to be honest i am a real cynic about all of this stuff. I guess i will just keep drinking and see.

anon144127

I bought a machine Nov 8, and the water has given me energy, I lost 10 pounds, never bloated. The only ones who say it is a scam and a waste of money are people who do not have this machine at home. It works. I have a machine and tried it for two months and it works. My skepticism is over!

Best health product I have ever purchased for my small family of three!

anon140946

People, I really do not understand this arguing. Long before my post someone explained MLM. So even if Kangen is a good product it's sale is cheating. Buy a product what is available in a shop.

anon139782

The only people disputing Kangen water are the people linked to major drug corporations and hospitals. They are bashing it because they will lose a lot of money when people are healthy and are not going to hospitals and buying their drugs. Kangen machines are used in medical medical facilities in Japan. Look that up, skeptics!

anon139691

Have the patience to uncover some key facts and any rational person will have to admit that Kangen water is a scam. What terrifies me is that people are so willing to stick up for Kangen water. We live in an age where education is more important than ever, and these people simply don’t have the right type of education to read these false claims with the requisite skepticism. They all say the same things, that is they use the same loopholes in an argument. They all want you to “just try it.”

I guess I’m not going to, because they’d never listen if I actually did, and I’m afraid it will give me diarrhea. I guess I would try it if all you people were aware of it, and someone independent firm was looking at the results and publishing them. Then this testing would be effective,

I could convince people not to buy the enagic machine. But in this type of written argument it is just a loophole thrown in to the argument to end meaningful discussion. This type of tactic only makes the intelligent more wary. I have, however, decided to get my hands on some of the water, and I will document the results, as I have eczema on my feet. I went to a dermatologist about it, and he prescribed me some cortisone cream, which works quite well. My eczema is much less severe than it was, even though I use the cream much less than prescribed. I will mist Kangen water on it for a month, and I will record the results online.

What made me confident that Kangen water is outright fraud was this article on Dr. Mirkin’s website. I’ve heard his show on the radio, and I knew he had a good reputation.

Please face the facts. I know it’s hard. We are all good people on this forum and we will help you achieve justice. But it’s time to really look in the mirror and ask yourself what the hell gives you the right to give other people such vivid health advice when you know that you don’t really know if kangen water works?

You might say, “But I’ve tried it!” to which I would say, “Have your own results been verified other than anyone than yourself?” or, “Can you provide direct evidence that Kangen eater is responsible for this result, as opposed to the placebo effect?”

We all know you can’t, because otherwise, Kangen water would be on the cover of Time magazine instead of Mark Zuckerberg because it would be a major revolution. This is what we all want it to be -- a savior. The sorry and sobering fact of the matter is that it isn’t anything more than a money making scheme, a false prophet.

Is that so hard to believe? Shouldn’t it be harder to believe that this water cures, according to which distributor is selling it at that moment, everything? What is it about you that makes you willing to believe something so hard to believe?

There are so many health scams out there, or are people not aware of that? Are these Kangen water people the same people who are giving money to the Nigerian king? I was just reading online that internet scams are a huge part of the Nigerian economy, and that it is suspected that the elites in the government are cashing in, which is why it’s not cracked down on. Every fifth car ad or apartment listing in online list is some sort of scam. I don’t think it’s at all rational, based on the broad history of health related scamming, to dismiss entirely that Kangen water is a scam.

I don’t think that anyone could rationally say that Enagic has taken the proper steps to affirm that this machine does anything in particular. A deep scouring of their website finds no mention of any study, nor does it find any direct claims about what it’s machine does.

So what is so earth-shattering about the premise that the machine is a scam? Nothing at all. It would be nothing we haven’t seen before. In fact, we’ve seen it a lot. Snake oil hucksters used to do the county fair circuit selling all kinds of scam tonics, and they relied heavily on personal testimonials and especially misleading demonstrations.

What is so earth-shattering about the premise that it isn’t a scam? Everything! It cures cancer? That is the greatest human achievement ever! Diabetes too? And if I mist it on it will cure eczema? It’s a miracle!

If it were real, every municipality would be interested in buying a Kangen water machine to make all tap water kangenized. Just imagine how many tax dollars could be saved as people are spared months of chemotherapy and a lifetime of insulin injections.

This is what really terrifies me, that people really can’t understand that, if it were real, it would be on Time Magazine’s cover, and your municipality would want kangen water coming out of everyone’s tap. Its reality would be much more apparent and it’s refutations much less persuasive. Throwing out nothing but testimonials when we should see hard data is a major red flag. So are visual demonstrations. These, in fact, are the age old tactics of the huckster.

The most telling indication is the way that Kangen water has been marketed by Enagic. Enagic has made no direct claims about what Kangen water does! That bears repeating: Enagic won’t make any direct claims about what Kangen water does, nor how it does it! Why? Because it would be illegal to claim that Kangen water is effective because there is no direct proof of this. Notice that only distributors make these claims, distributors with no credentials and who are not subject to any sort of legal scrutiny.

It is worth noting that it is a crime to market a product that you have made an untrue claim about. In this way Enagic makes a criminal out of every enagic distributor. This bears repeating as well: Every Enagic rep who makes direct claims about the effectiveness of Kangen water is a criminal, even if Kangen water works, because they can’t prove it.

I’m so desperate to convince even one Enagic rep to give it up, I’ll gladly submit to a battery of tests in a public and neutral setting anytime, anywhere. I’m desperate because my old friend got involved in this, and she posted something about it on facebook. I looked into it, then tried to talk her out of it, but she wouldn’t listen. Then she un-friended me from facebook.

I don’t want to come across as looking down on anyone, I’ve been scammed in the past, and I think most people have been in some way deceived in their lives, and have had their pride hurt as a consequence of the realization of being taken in. There are people who know lots about this sort of thing. There are chemists at the universities who will respond to e-mails, there are family doctors who give sound advice. You must ask them before you invest in Kangen water. It’s only rational to seek independent advice from an expert before you invest 4000 dollars. I humbly ask you to undertake this independent inquiry before spending so much money.

For the sake of our economy, for the sake of our children, take some reasoned and thorough steps ensure that you are not being preyed upon. These types of pyramid schemes have ruined entire countries; they are no joke.

Experts like Thomas Wheeler, a retired professor of biochemistry at the University of Louisville who was quoted in the article saying that not only is it unlikely that the water remains alkaline or acidic, but also that it cannot have an impact on the body because: “The body goes to great lengths to maintain its pH, and there isn’t much you can eat or drink that will change that.” Woolston also points out that a person in search of alkalinity could just “pop a couple of Tums”. MacIntosh adds, “If this is in fact alkaline water, it’s simply replacing one water with another.”

Upon contacting the Kyowa Hospital, one of the hospitals featured in the television special, Dr. Koji Kusaka, who is hospital staff said Kyowa no longer uses the technology, “Perhaps it was a temporary trend. I think I remember watching those TV commercials; it is a commercialization, this technology. Our government does not authorize this technology, or profit from it” Dr. Kusaka admits that the general population has water ionizers, but he cannot confirm whether it is as prevalent as suggested. Regarding the medical effect, Dr. Kusaka says, “Maybe it has some affect, but the difference is ignorable… the effect might be there.

John MacIntosh is an ND, a registered massage therapist (RMT) and the owner of the Natural Pain Therapy Centre in Toronto, “I’ve seen other technologies like this, like footbath machines. They’re claiming that they take [bad] substances out of the body. To tell you the truth, if we’re talking about water electrolysis, and breaking molecules – you can break the H2O into two components. If you apply enough electrical energy to water molecules you can break them.” But here is where his skepticism comes in, “Now the problem is as soon as you turn the power off, the molecules recombine, the negatives will recombine [with the positives] and you’ll end up with plain water again.” He says that even if the two waters were separated, that the atoms tend to recombine anyway, “Really it’s the kind of claim that goes against basic chemistry.”

Waste $4000 and try it if you want to. It's a scam, folks!

I have been watching the Enagic company since its early years when they first arrived here in the US -- before they even had any pieces of marketing in English (they didn’t for the first three years). And I have an in depth perception of what’s good, what’s bad, what’s downright crazy, and whether or not the Enagic opportunity is a scam.

anon135406

does kangen water have heavy metals in it? and can you please point me to the research that shows if it does or does not. thanks

anon133948

Anything with this much controversy must be something,or it wouldn't even create a buzz. For all the people who don't believe or are skeptical, just drink the water and see for yourself -- very simple.

I have a store in Studio City ca. We give it away for free. I did not believe in the water and I had the machine on my counter for almost a year. My husband wanted me to drink it but I only wanted my soda. I won't even tell you the results we have seen. You have to see for yourself. Just drink the water.

anon133250

My family has been drinking Kangen water since September 2009. We began by getting it from someone who had a machine since I couldn't afford the machine I wanted at the time (501 SD). Within three weeks, we noticed incredible differences. we all noticed (my mom, husband and myself) achiness was gone or significantly better. my husband had developed a diabetic ulcer in early January 2009 and when his toe (right above the ulcer) was broken, it led to rapid infection and resulted in an amputation of his fourth toe. He was lucky. We were not drinking the water at this point.

Once his surgery site was healed, he was fitted for orthotics. but of course they take several weeks to get and in that time, he developed a pressure sore which turned into another diabetic ulcer on the outside of his foot under his pinky toe. It stayed the size of a dime and the doctors were trying so many treatments to get it to heal. He was in a boot, I cleaned and treated to sore two or three times per day (therapeutic honey, silver oxide, blah blah blah). the treatments lasted over four months.

In September, when we started just drinking the Kangen water. I was telling the lady that we were getting it from about his foot and she said "you really should soak it in the acidic water and see what happens." We were initially apprehensive as we were told to strictly keep it dry. he spent from January to September not even putting his foot in the shower, only to be cleaned by me daily. However, after all the recommended treatments were not working and we were done with doctors telling us what to do that they really didn't even know what to do.

They wanted to do another foot surgery to shave his bone down in that spot to have less pressure to keep this sore going. My husband was fearful knowing what he went through with the last surgery. So, we got a gallon of acidic (2.5 pH) water from this woman and began that evening soaking his foot for about 20 minutes in it. Then we let it completely dry, placed sterile dry gauze on it and wrapped it with that stretch wrap. we did that morning and night. After three treatments (so less than two days later) my husband went to the wound clinic for his weekly checkup. After removing his sock, the nurse asked what he had done to his foot. My husband was confused, but did confess to the soaking in the acidic water. She was shocked because she said (before even taking the wrap off) that all of his toenail fungus was gone and his general health of his foot looked really good. When she removed the bandage she was further amazed and after measuring the wound, it was half the size it was less than a week prior.

After one more visit, she said they no longer needed to see him unless he had further issues. His surgeon who wanted to do the second surgery, was also amazed and of course, canceled the surgery. In three weeks, the sore was completely healed and you could hardly tell where it was.

Since then, we have continued to drink the Kangen (9.5 pH) water, but did not continue to soak his feet. He has had no further problems until last week when he developed a blood blister under his big toe on that same foot as his orthotics have felt a little "off" lately. The blister was about the size of a 50 cent piece. We started soaking it as soon as he told me about it and the day after we soaked it, the blister got a tiny hole in it, and we drained all the pus, blood and fluid out of it. He went to the wound clinic, got the dead skin cut off on Monday, three days after starting treatment. When cleaning it out, they took a sample and it turns out he has MRSA, which is pretty common in diabetic foot ulcers. Luckily I believe since we starting treatment so quickly, the large sore has stayed surface deep, but he is now on a special antibiotic and they expect full recovery and today (Thursday) at the follow-up from his first visit, the nurses said it looks remarkably better than it did on Monday of this week. I see new skin tissue growing over it. It's quite amazing.

I also have always washed all my fruits and veggies in the strong Kangen water and they actually taste way better than using a fruit wash or just tap water. we even did a taste test with the same strawberries, rinsing them in the regular tap water and then soaking for five minutes in strong Kangen water. our friends picked out the Kangen ones with one bite.

So you ask or say: is Kangen Water a hoax / Kangen water is a scam? I think not. I have watched its wonders before my eyes, have felt its effects and will defend its validity with my life. I will never be without the machine (Oh yeah, I got one used for a great price, replaced the filter) and we are planning on getting the travel model so we always have it with us to drink. think what you want, but unless you have been through what I have, don't tell me it isn't real. Kami D. Everett, WA

anon132833

Any sensible person who takes the time to look at the actual science behind these claims would realize that this whole thing is a hoax.

A basic understanding of chemistry and human anatomy is all that is needed to debunk these claims.

The human body is an amazing creation which is capable of self correcting (it's what keeps us alive). Stop putting preservatives into your body, and it will heal itself, without forking over thousands of dollars for a "miracle machine".

I have friends who have purchased a Kangen system ($4000 worth). I feel sorry for them. They didn't really have that kind of money to waste, but someone talked them into buying it.

If you are considering buying a Kangen system, do your homework before you buy! A couple of hours of study can keep you from wasting a lot of money.

anon132307

This water is saving your life, and you know this after only three days? You don't sound brainwashed at all!

earth84angel

For those of you griping about the price tag I have a question to ask you. How much money did you spend on fast food this year? Guess what? My life is worth the price and that's why I am saving up my money and getting one.

As of now, my next door neighbor is currently me supplying me with this water. Ever heard of acidosis? Well, it sucks and causes a slew of health problems. Three days and my muscles and bones are no longer hurting. Thanks Kangen water for saving my life, because that's exactly what it's doing.

anon126267

I'd never drop the money for one of these things but my roommate did. He's convinced that it'll cure cancer and improve longevity. He even gives the stuff to his dog. I can only comment on my personal experience. I don't feel more youthful, I'm not losing weight but I haven't had heartburn in 3 months. That is all.

anon125912

Health benefits or not, the water tastes so damn good and refreshing. I'm not a big water drinker but this water has me going back for more.

anon124327

You probably got Type 2 diabetes because you had a sugar laden diet. I would imagine that if you replaced all of the "soda pop" with tap water you would have achieved the same results.

Nice try. There is no actual science backing up this scam machine, and please don't start spewing the pseudo science arguments that Enagic puts out as misinformation.

You don't have to try the "magic water" to know it is a scam. You do have to get scammed in order to make fraudulent claims about the effects of it.

anon123865

It's amazing how many people will make comments based on other people's comments -- and consider it fact without doing their own research.

I just watch a couple of videos posted by an individual claiming that the Enagic machines are actually dangerous, but he was actually mis- or partially- quoting from the actual Enagic user's manual, and not telling the whole story.

I will simply state this, as for my own experience: before I started drinking the Kangen water produced by an Enagic SD501, I was on three different prescription medications for high blood pressure, plus 4 shots a day of two different types of insulin as well as two pills per day for type II diabetes, and after about four months of drinking this water and making no changes to my diet except for cutting the soda pop out, I was no longer needing any of those meds. That was two years ago, and I'm in the best health I've enjoyed in almost 20 years!

I did not buy a machine until I had experienced these results, and I will not sell a machine to anyone else unless and until they've tried the water and gotten good results for themselves!

You can do all the research you want, and you can discuss (read: argue) with people face to face or online in forums like this, but unless and until you've actually tried the water for yourself -- I mean honestly tried it -- for at least six weeks, you don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to claiming it's a scam or can't possibly work.

anon122705

If it's MLM you can bet it's a scam!

anon122087

@159: No there isn't. If you knew what "chelate" means, you would know why it is not something that water (alkaline or otherwise can do). Chelation therapy is well established for heavy metal poisoning.

If it were that simple to cure autism, do you not think that someone would have put your theory to the test by now? There is no cure for autism.

The only people who will tell you that "magic water" can cure autism are liars preying on vulnerable people who are desperate for just such a "miracle" cure. It is unspeakable!

anon121925

Alkaline water cures autism? It's said that autism is caused by too much aluminum in the body, if the alkaline water can chelate it and other metals out of the body, there is a possibility of it curing autism.

I'm going to try the cheaper way of getting alkaline water by adding mineral stones for gravity pot water filters into my jug water filter.

anon118466

Yeah, that's exactly what I do when I hear about a good product: run the other way and start bashing it.

No, when someone sees their loved ones getting scammed by water selling con-artists, that is when people start bashing a multi-level marketing scam. No one has to put together rallies and meetings to apply high pressure sales tactics on products that are actually good -- only scams do that.

It really is sad that so many fall into this brainwashing trap! Once they've invested the money they will defend it to their last breath because they don't want to admit that they are fools.

deshonp82

Kangen Water is the best and it is changing my life. This is the real deal here. Almost feel super human lol.

anon117481

To all who think it's fake and a scam, think again. I have the machine and I absolutely love it!

anon116754

Bottom line: when anything good comes out most people will not spend the time required to investigate and just start to mouth off negative things about it instead.

anon114836

Well, this is my second day of drinking the 8.5 and I've had the runs! Apparently, it's cleaning out my system and getting rid of oil/fats. Makes me feel lighter at least. My partner's also been very gaseous.

anon114485

I just spent a month (Aug 2010) reviewing all the 'evidence' I could find that allegedly supports claims that drinking alkaline water has health benefits. In short, I could find none.

anon114205

Wow! Just had a business associate give me the Kangen sales pitch. Can't believe people fall for this nonsense. The people on here who are proponents sound like brainwashed fools.

I try to be open minded but these claims fly in the face of logic. Someone even went as low as to claim that this water cured their son's autism (they should be ashamed of themselves)! I'm not selling any machine, which is their usual discourse for detractors, and have no other interest in this other than seeing the reaction of my business associate after seeing him in a later meeting and informing him that it was a scam.

He was already brainwashed(or embarrassed by the money he spent and suggesting it to others) and was enraged by my comment. I was relieved to find out that a dozen others at my company had the same when they came to the same conclusion and gave him the same advice.

Some people just want to believe, no matter how ridiculous the claims.

anon114184

@147: Are you suggesting that textbooks from 2010 say any different? I'd like to see that.

anon113327

If you guys dig a bit deeper you'll see that it is all a scam! Contrary to some of the comments made about Japanese approval as a medical device, that is a load crap. In fact, the company is being investigated for fraudulent MLM in Japan.

There is a lot of information you can explore and judge it for yourself.

anon110834

I would agree this water may offer more to the body than normal water, but after hearing the sales pitch, it's a mind over matter thing. You drink the water and you believe it's made other people feel better, so in turn, you start to feel better.

anon109520

@145: No the drinking water never receives the salt water solution that is used to make the strong acidic water. In fact, the machine will not make drinking water until it goes through an automatic cleaning. If you have extremely soft water you may want to use the calcium cartridge to increase conductivity. And yes, your body needs calcium.

@146: It's refreshing for some one to use common sense rather than facts of chemistry from 1978 text books.

anon109317

It's been argued here that the water clusters cannot be made smaller. I have this to say about that. These machines are basically the very same thing that backyard inventors across the country have been working on since the early 70's when Stan Myers started off the kick about using water and electrolysis to supplement fuel economy in gasoline engines by bleeding off some of the hydrogen and piping it into the fuel manifold for the engine to burn, therefore getting better mileage.

With that said, after bleeding off some of the hydrogen from the h2o, wouldn't that make the water clusters smaller? I mean when you subtract anything from something you end up with less -- at least that's what my common sense dictates to me.

anon108814

Does the drinking water of the kangen machine go through the same filters as the cleaning water? Do any of the added solutions to make the water most acidic get into the drinking water at all? The chemical solutions scare me.

anon108643

I think PT Barnum was being generous with his famous "One born every minute" comment. Seems like there are thousands of suckers born every minute, and tens of thousands more to take them to the cleaners.

Now, this doesn't mean that I don't care about people complaining about their special maladies, but I do think that money spent on a few sessions with a competent psychotherapist is a much better investment than spending it on a magic water machine. Cheaper too.

anon108431

My goodness, what a pile of nonsense. The claims made about this magic water defy the laws of chemistry and physics. If any of this were true, it would be a paradigm shift in our understanding of the nature of matter. Anyone who could prove it would win a Nobel prize. Other people would find myriad applications for it in chemistry, biochemistry and would be making a profit from it.

If there was the remotest shred of truth to this, the scientific community would be over it like a rash. Research scientists aren't remotely interested in maintaining a conspiracy of silence or a status quo; they are all out to make a name for themselves, to find something new, to show that everyone else has been wrong.

For anyone who is seriously contemplating spending thousands of their hard earned dollars on one of these snake oil machines, someone is trying to convince you that magic water (yes *magic water*) which is completely unknown to science will cure you of all ills.

There have been many cures for all ills proposed over the years, also known as universal panaceas and elixirs. Without fail, they are a pile of doodoo!

anon107685

I have never seen this site until today. I have met people who have sold this water and tasted it many times, yet have never been able to afford the move to it.

Now today, the logic of trading how much I spend on bottled water for my extended family for Kangen is a great revelation. Now science and experience within the human body are two very separate subjects and you all just know you are right, but the truth is, the ph miracle is real, kangen rocks, imitations are just that, MLM is the greatest business model available today.

The bilderberg group is building a highway and a work camp near you and the FDA, big pharma, big agra and the new world order are going to take hold of all our lives sooner than you want to know.

So, make peace with each other, love your wellness water, spend what you like on it, do your homework and play nice, for God's sake!

And by the way, after 30 years of doing surgery, hospice care, watching wealthy and poor individuals try everything out there to save their life or that of a loved one. there are many basic things that will change your health destiny and this water is one of them. the old saying "you get what you pay for" does apply, right here, right now.

anon107283

I have read enough pointing of fingers by people who think they are so smart because they have some knowledge of chemistry.

If you want the truth, find the article written by Ray Kurzweil. It is titled "Ray Kurzweil Scientist Talks about Alkaline Water." Do your research people. Have you seen how many awards and how much recognition Enagic has received/earned? Who makes the only machine in it's category that is a recognized medical device in Japan or anywhere else.

Which company can prove they are using surgical grade metals in their plates instead of food grade with all its impurities. There is so much science behind K. water. I have seen miracles with people and animals that are drinking it. I don't know of anyone drinking another company's alkaline water who is having the same type of results.

It is unfortunate that there are so many people with nothing better to do, so they slander the leading company in this arena. And this because they are usually promoting a machine from another company which cost about $100 to make and they sell for around $2000.

Would you rather have a machine in the medical device category (in Japan) that had a production cost of $1400 (with a 185 percent markup-retail $3980) or a machine in the kitchen appliance category that had a production cost of about $100 and a 1900 percent markup at $2000?

Shame on all of you for slandering Enagic. I recommend that you all start using your real full names and contact information. Recommended reading "The water puzzle and the hexagonal key" by Dr. Mu Shik Jhon, "The Enzyme Factor" By Dr. Hiromi Shinya. --Dr. D

anon95226, does "Hydrogen Sticks" really generates a negative ORP?

anon106202

Bently @ 136: Even if tap water had sufficient ion content to make it conductive (which it doesn't) you still haven't come up with even a remotely plausible reason as to how you can make water alkaline by electrolysis.

@137: 1) You are exactly right. The cluster theory of water is absolute bunk. Water molecules are in dynamic equilibrium, constantly forming and reforming hydrogen bonds. Anyone who has seen a proton NMR will know that protons in water resonate in a narrow frequency band showing a normal distribution - i.e. they are all in substantially the same chemical environment. Water clusters do not exist. Water does not have memory. There is no such thing as hexagonal water.

2) Hydrogen peroxide can be split in two, e.g. by heat, but it produces two OH radicals, not two OH- ions. You can't take a neutral molecule and suddenly turn it into two negative ions.

As for what would happen, the answer is not much. The radicals will undergo a series of exchange reactions with water (with no overall change), but will eventually recombine to form a peroxide molecule again.

anon105794

I am not in favor or against this water, but I read some posts and I have some questions. Maybe someone who knows a lot about chemistry can answer them.

1 – Someone says it is impossible to “shrink” water molecules. I agree, but I think the guys that support the usefulness of this water do not say the molecules shrink, but that clusters are smaller. I have read that regular water forms clusters of a number of molecules, but that some procedures can get clusters having fewer molecules. As far as I know, the bonds among molecules of water are constantly breaking down and forming again in less than a second by hydrogen bonds. Is the theory of clusters recognized by the conventional science?

I guess that in order to form clusters the water molecules should stop moving (only possible at 0 degrees centigrade or below) because in liquid water the clusters would be broken immediately. So how can we drink water with clusters if they can not exist in liquid state?

2- Hydrogen peroxide is composed by H2 O2, it is “oxygenated water.” Then I have doubts about what happens if I add some of this chemical to a glass of water? All water molecules are H20, balanced in same number of positive ions H (acidic) and negative ions HO (hydroxyl). so the pH is 7.0. If some chemical or electrolytic procedure could split each molecule of peroxide in two halves, each one would be one OH with one negative charge, so these new OH ‘s added to the water would make the number of OH’s to exceed the number of H’s, right? therefore the water would be alkaline, above 7.0 without any bicarbonate added, no minerals or metals Na or Ca. The problem of alkaline water with bicarbonate is that if you drink it for some time it forms stones in the kidney, so why not to try to make it using peroxide?

Does anyone know if it is possible to split easily the molecules of peroxide in two radicals OH?

anon105311

James - DPhil chemistry,

Chemists always want to add the word pure to the discussion. No one is claiming to pass 230 w of electricity through “pure” water.

This is being done to filtered tap water. The filter is designed to allow needed minerals to remain in the water stream and allow conductivity.

In most areas of the country, there are 12 to 40 “grains” of hardness or mineral content in tap water. In areas with extremely soft water or little mineral content in the tap water, a calcium enhancer cartridge is available to provide suitable conductivity.

Bentley L, High School 1984

anon104707

anon102874: No, what you are saying is still alchemy bullcrap. Water cannot be alkaline unless you put something in it to make it alkaline - pure water is neutral. It doesn't matter how much titanium you wave in its general direction. What you are claiming defies the laws of science in a big way.

Big claims like that require big explanations - you have none. Just hyperbole.

anon104295

What makes me question "who" writes some of the articles on Kangen water, and when they say oh, its a MLM and it will cost more than "other" products on the market. This is simply not true.

If you do your research you will find all of Enagics products are much higher quality and are priced much cheaper than any other product on the market Example: the Enagic sunus costs $1280 and has a production cost of $425. It has $240 of medical grade titanium and platinum, and a total mark up of three times compared to similar machines on the market (from Korea, Taiwan, China) that sell for $2000 and cost $300 to produce and have very small amounts of "food grade" titanium and platinum ($120) and are marked up seven times.

And another trick I see on the internet is "they" say buy our machine for half the price of Enagics top seller and best machine (sd501) that costs $4000. They try to trick people into thinking that their $2000 machine is the same? For only $2000, it's cheaper (this is a very big lie) this $2000.

The machine is not even the quality of Enagics sinus for ($1280.) Now The sd501 cost $1400 to produce and has over $1000 of medical grade metals and is marked up less than three times.

If these "other" sellers made a product like the sd501 it would cost them $3000 in production costs and they would have to sell it for $10,000! That won't happen.

Enagic can sell their products for a better price with much better quality because they build every machine from start to finish under one roof, which means no middlemen, no advertising, no shipping, sold by word of mouth marketing or direct marketing, not MlM.

This is why their products are better quality at a fair price. Another way to look at is Enagic has 35 percent for manufacturing and 65 percent for marketing/profit compared to "other" sellers who spend 15 percent in manufacturing and 85 percent in marketing/profit. Who's telling stories?

anon102874

@anon102776: Unfortunately, as many people before you have tried to argue, your comments on the "salt" requirement are false. Your information is simply incorrect.

The saline solution is *only* used to produce the strong Kangen or acid waters.

There is no solution in the Kangen water settings between 8-9.5 or the filtered 7.0 water. Those pH levels are achieved strictly through the use of the titanium plates and electricity.

anon102821

For those looking for scientific peer reviewed evidence you can research for electrolyzed reduced water there are over 100 articles that I have found.

daphager785

You cannot get Kangen water from those cheaper machines. Sure, you could pay a whole lot less, but the fact is they don't make Kangen water. There is a difference between alkaline or ionized water and Kangen water. You won't get the same health benefits from simple alkaline water -- you need Kangen water.

Kangen water is made with a technology that the Japanese came up with. You just can't get Kangen water from any other source. People, you cannot buy this in stores!

anon102776

Alchemy bullcrap was right - none of the supposed science in this article makes even the slightest bit of sense.

There is no such thing as "pure" alkaline water. Water is alkaline when it contains an excess of OH- ions, it is acid when it contains an excess of H+ ions.

If there is an excess of OH- ions there has to be something to balance the charge - usually this would be something like a sodium ion (Na+) (hence sodium hydroxide - NaOH). If there is an excess of H+ ions there again has to be something to balance the charge, such as chlorine (Cl-) (hence hydrochloric acid).

If your OH- ions are balanced by H+ ions, you have neutral pH (no excess of either). What's more, H+ and OH- have such a massive attraction for each other that they instantly recombine to form a water molecule.

If you've found a way to take pure water and make it contain only hydroxide (OH-) ions and no balancing positive ions, then the scientific world would be beating a path to your door as you've found a way to overcome the fundamental forces that make all matter hold together. If not, you don't have alkaline water unless you put something else in it.

Secondly, if you attempt to electrolyse water you don't product H+ and OH- anyway, you produce hydrogen and oxygen gases. This is a redox reaction - hydrogen in a water molecule has a +1 oxidation state oxygen has a -2 oxidation state. In electrolysis of water electrons are removed from one electrode oxidising the oxygen component of water to oxygen gas (O2 oxidation state 0) and supplied to the other electrode to reduce the hydrogen component to form hydrogen gas (H2, oxidation state 0).

Ps there's a flaw too - it only works if the water is full of salt - water is an insulator - it doesn't conduct electricity. The salt (comprising negative and positive ions as charge carriers) is required to complete the circuit between the two electrodes.

Even if your chemistry is bad, maybe you are better at electronics.

Now I've never come across this water, so I can't say for sure whether it has any effect or none, but what I can tell you quite categorically is that the way it is said to work is scientifically impossible. Utter drivel. That alone should make you suspicious. Why are these people lying to you to sell these things? If it works, explain it in a way that doesn't defy the laws of science and nature.

@ amypollick: Thanks for your thoughts. I did some research for you that's not my words, but from the top leading Dr Shinya, chief of Beth Israel Health Clinic in NY.

Here is someone who has gone through diabetic problems and was significantly helped through this product. We can all be cautious before we try something, but why not try something that "can" help you? That "can" change your life, more so than not? Life is full of risks, and some are more logical than others. Like buying an automobile or a computer. But we are talking about water, and this is an essential need, and not worth arguing about.

If you would like some more information about Kangen Water, I would recommend the book "The Enzyme Factor" and "The Microbe Factor" by Dr Shinya. I am still reading the first one.

@anon95074 - said: {Water in it's natural form seems like the very definition of perfection. How can you improve water?}

Excellent question. And that is one of the core elements in the discussion of how this technology works. If people start at the beginning and "read" then they would see that Kangen water is based on the idea of restructuring water to an "original state" or "source water," hence the name Kangen; which means "return to the origin."

The entire conversation is based on the journey water makes from its source, high in the mountains, and as it travels to sea levels (and us) the transformation it undergoes while exposed to the elements and the environment.

So yes, in essence, it can be "improved."

Consider this: Why is it so easy for people to accept the concept of global warming?

In effect we're talking about the same thing. We, humans and the environment we have affected and the naturally occurring environment that water travels through on its way to our drinking sources, have altered its "original" state by the time it gets to us.

The Kangen generators merely restructure the water to the state in which it arrived on earth in its purest form. Yes, at one time this would not have been necessary. But things have changed.

Look at farming. Do you think you get the same level of "natural organic" nutrients in your food today as you would have 200 years ago?

If you do, then you should do some research on the global farming epidemic of soil depletion. How do farmers deal with the issue? Fertilizer and artificial soil supplementation.

The same concept applies to Kangen water. But instead of "artificial" chemicals they use electricity to restructure the water and create the higher pH levels that are found in source waters in the high mountains. Make sense?

One more thing for readers to consider is the work of Masaru Emoto; featured in the film 'What the Bleep Do We Know." In the sequence they displayed photographs where Masaru supposedly captured the altered state of water molecules that were exposed to different emotions just prior to being frozen.

Now, the "scientific" community has balked at his work. But consider too, that the same "community" insisted the world was flat. That the universe revolved around the earth. And that man could never travel to space. This "community of experts" has long held themselves in empirical "god like" righteousness and infallible truth - within "their" circle.

Step out of their circle and you are labeled a heretic, a quack -- a blasphemer of science.

Come up with an alternative, and you're "just in it for the money."

Yet pharmaceutical companies can dish up experimental "drugs, get FDA approval (the inner circle at work) and dish it out like candy with out any balking form the public or the "scientific community." Even though right in the commercials that pimp them out they clearly give you a laundry list of deadly or debilitating "side effects."

But hey, come up with something that seeks to create a better life on all levels for people and it just has to be "snake oil!" Sheeple are so naive. And they wonder why things are the way they are.

They've bought their tickets to the show, put on the "free" t shirts, pulled up a front row seat and are shoveling the crap in down their own throats by the bucket load. No matter though, really.

There will always be those who think for themselves and make a conscious life for themselves and those who refuse to be unplugged and would rather stay lost in the dream world of the Matrix.

Good luck with that copper top! ~RB

I am a Chemical Engineer with a master's degree from Cornell University. It is a fact that water, with its unique hydrogen bond angle of 108 degrees possesses many unique characteristics because of this property.

The polarity of water, responsible for many of its amazing solvency attributes, also makes it prone to agglomeration, and thus as the "cluster" size increases, it loses some of its absorbency relative to the size of cellular walls that it must penetrate to properly nourish the body.

It stands to reason, then, that high energy fields, such as are present in an electrolysis unit, destroy the hydrogen bonding present in "standing" water, and thus allow the water molecules to more readily pass through the barriers presented by body tissues.

Thus I speak in favor of improved nutritional penetration of Kangen water, and its value to the human body. The work of Dr Otto Warburg, regarding cancer and oxygen levels in the body, for which he won a Nobel Prize in 1931, also goes without dispute as far as I know. Therefore, saying essentially that "water is water", as has been suggested by anon93158, carries no scientific or logical weight in my opinion.

Seems to me that all life on planet Earth sprang from water and needs water to survive. Water in it's natural form seems like the very definition of perfection. How can you improve water?

@bmw57: Normally, I stay out of these kinds of discussions. I don't have any strong feelings for or against kangen water. If that's how people want to spend their money, fine. No skin off my nose. I'm not even saying the stuff doesn't work, but that claim about normalizing blood sugar and insulin levels gives me pause.

My doctor, who is considered to be one of the best endocrinologists in the state, has among the best diabetic patient outcomes in the state and is up on research and treatment of diabetes, has never said a word to me about kangen water, or anything like it. He's not averse to alternative medicine, and is pretty much open to anything that will help his patients lead a better life.

In fact, he started out specializing in nephrology, but got burned out with treating so many patients at the end of the line, especially those who could have avoided kidney damage with earlier, appropriate care and treatment of their condition. So, he went back to school and specialized in endocrinology. A doctor normally does not do that unless he or she is dedicated to helping patients live longer, healthier lives.

I'm not saying it's impossible for kangen water to help in this area, but I would really like to see more research results on a wider spectrum before implying that this water is a cure for diabetes. Big pharma may be powerful, but I just don't think they're powerful enough to completely silence a potential cure for diabetes, considering how common it has become. I think doctors who cared even a bit about their patients would be advising their patients to buy these machines, that the investment would be worth it.

I just feel care needs to be exercised when making claims about what is medically beneficial, particularly when discussing a chronic, progressive disease like diabetes.

for the person who said the water tasted horrible and left them with cotton mouth, that means that your body was detoxing. those are classic traits. you needed to drink a lesser level of kangen, like the 8.0 and work up to the high level 9.5 gradually so that your body wasn't in shock. i'm betting you were drinking the 9.5 when you experienced those side effects.

anon91323

So, what happens to this alkaline water when it enters the stomach, with its environmental pH of 2? Oh yeah, it undergoes an neutralization reaction and the balance of the alkaline OH- ions are turned back into regular water with plenty of acidic H30+ ions left to keep the pH of the stomach quite acidic with all kinds of "bad" positive/acidic water in the stomach.

Also, just purifying/distilling your water will reduce the Oxidation Reduction Potential of the water from a more positive number to a less positive or even negative ORP because you are removing minerals, better known as metals in the chemical world.

For all of you who took basic chemistry, you should remember that metals tend to lose their electrons, making the ORP for metals positive and if you remove those metals the ORP goes down because there is less oxidation potential in the water and the ORP of water by itself is -0.83 so by just making your water pure you can make the ORP negative.

OK. Smaller water molecules? So, now we are shinking molecules that are made up of a consistent type and number of atoms. How can you make H2O smaller than H2O? I'll wait for the alchemists to answer that one. And don't try and tell me that the water molecule is smaller because it is an HO or an OH because those are not water.

The first is the empirical formula for hydrogen peroxide - not water - and the second is not water either - it is an ion called hydroxide.

Just my two cents, as a doctor, a specialist in human metabolism, and a chemistry and biology professor.

P.S. Now the next 12 posts will tell me that I am closed-mined, ill-informed, and if I would only do the research I would see the "facts" of ionized water.

To those people I say, "Spend a decade in school, acquiring more than 250 combined graduate level hours in chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, and pathology, and then you can tell me that I am ill-informed and need to do more research than I already have done and still do."

PS: For all of those readers in other countries, my bit on America was kind of based on a conversation I had just had with someone else. So I apologize for excluding anyone.

The same principles apply to you no matter where you live. And in fact, Enagic and the opportunities in network marketing and direct selling are available all over the world.

So the conversation absolutely applies to you - to all of us!

OK then, there it is. Cheers! ~RB

OK, this is "crucial" for people to understand about the water generated in the Enagic machines.

1. The water cannot just be bottled like a common bottle of water. Because it is not a common bottle of water. The primary factors that contribute to the waters benefits are

a) pH

b) ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential)

Both of these characteristics gradually decrease as the water sits for an extended period of time. Which is why the machines are manufactured as for home convenience. It can be bottled for short term storage of up to 72 hours or so. But the water is at its highest beneficial state for consumption, meaning optimal pH and ORP values, when it is fresh.

2. You don't have to "pay more" to try the water. Just find a Kangen distributor in your area. It's common practice by most people I know in the business to give water away freely to people who ask for it. Of course at some point, you'll need to get your own machine once you experience the benefits yourself. These people are paying the water bill and upkeep of the machine remember (filters, solution for acid water, etc.).

But even then, the company has monthly payment plans available for people that aren't in a position to pay for a unit upfront.

The machines are ultra high quality and made of expensive materials such as platinum and titanium and high end electronics.

Remember folks, this isn't some discount stereo you get from StuffMart - this is a high grade medical device. Not to mention, the sales reps need to be paid - absolutely. Would you keep going to work if they stopped paying you? More on that in a minute.

So Enagic does their best to provide a solution for "everyone" to have access to the water. Three, six, 10 and 16 month payment options plus a very reasonable finance fee of between $30-$160 based on the pay option you choose.

So even with the 16-month pay plan you're looking at $225 per month and $3600 total for the leading model, the SD501.

Oh, one more note: when people take the pay plan, the rep who sold it has to wait until the customer finishes their payments to get paid, aside from an initial $50 upfront payment for making the sale. And guess what - Enagic reps do this all day. Still think it's all about the money?

Now you tell me how that represents a company with a total disregard for making this available to as many people as possible? You tell me how that paints a picture of a company or distributors that only care about making money and have no interest in helping people?

I know people who spend more than that on cigarettes every month!

That's the cost of a latte and a muffin every day. Are you telling me you don't know anyone who spends that much on "luxury" items every day? And yes, a $2 muffin and a $5-$7 coffee is a luxury item when you get down to brass tacks. So really, it's just a matter of individual priorities.

Yeah, you never hear the "competition" or naysayers talk about that, do you? That's because it isn't in their best interests to give you a "complete" picture. Enagic isn't some money grubbing water baron out to steal from the poor.

And here's something else I really want to get off my chest here. There's something very important that "everyone" who seems to be so apprehensive or flat out opponents of this whole idea, and that is this: We all know that times are hard for a lot of people and in many different ways. And most know just as well, that this country (America) was built on free enterprise and the pioneering spirit of entrepreneurs. It is what has made this country the land of milk and honey for millions of people since the inception of its history.

Now with that in mind and as a frame for the conversation, why would any reasonably intelligent person take a position that would deny an opportunity as every entrepreneurial minded person before them, the same opportunity, to better their lives and make something more for themselves?

So what if the Kangen machine costs $4000 and people are buying them? (and they are by the way -- in droves) What does that have to do with you?

If "you would never pay that much" for something, then what does the conversation have to do with you at all? You probably wouldn't or couldn't pay for a $10,000 luxury cruise either, right?

Now tell me: do you walk around harbors arguing with passengers boarding cruise ships that they are being scammed? Do you hang out in front of travel agencies telling people they could get a "discount vacation" if they visit the Stuff Mart down the street?

At the end of the day it wouldn't matter if the machine was $20,000. This is free enterprise and the people involved with selling the machines aren't out scamming people, selling snake oil. They're capitalizing on the foundational, inherent principles that every American citizen has the right to: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

What does it have to do with you if they find happiness in a $4000 glass of water that betters their quality of life, puts money in their bank account and gives them an opportunity to help anyone else they choose to bring along by teaching them to do the same, so they no longer have to be slaves to the 9-5 rat race any longer?

Quite frankly my dear, if you have a problem with that, maybe you're living in the wrong country. And if you don't live here, well then the conversation has even less to do with you - so why do you care?

Seriously, people: these arguments are getting old. When are people going to wake up and realize "the man," "big brother," "the government," is not on your side? You're being taken for a ride. And the *only* way you're ever going to get ahead is to take control of your own life and your wealth creation.

And the only real way for the average working Joe to do that, the only way that has ever existed is by starting a small or home based business. And that is what Enagic and the entire mlm, network marketing, referral marketing and direct selling industries afford: a way for the "common" to rise above it all and experience the good life that is typically reserved and locked behind closed doors of the "elite" in society.

If you can't wrap your mind around that and do something about it - for you, well then I'm afraid your mundane life will continue to revolve around these feeble arguments on the internet, while the rest of us go on to do great things for ourselves, our families and humanity. Good luck with that. ~RB

The government fluoridates our water. Why not process for more alkalinity?

anon90699

I have stared a company that "bottles" the kangen water and sells them at local grocers, etc.

My company has purchased 65 kangen devices, and we expect to add more as demand increases. There is no need to have this unit in your home when you can simply purchase bottles at the store. I've been approached by several, very large distribution companies already. And, did you know that SoMe is looking into this as well. If they move forward, it will probably kill my business. I've a close eye on them.

anon90380

My question is this: f this water is so great and cures illness and improves energy and yada, yada, yada, then why wouldn't somebody just bottle it and sell it on a shelf?

I already pay two dollars for a liter of water anyway, and would pay more to try this new miracle water. Now it seems to me that bottling it would be more profitable for a company as well if their product actually did what they claim. Not only that, one would be more inclined to buy a $4,000 dollar water machine if the proof was evident before purchase rather than going on testimonials and claims from salesmen.

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Just my opinion

RichardBravo

*Quote:

"If Kangen water was so great, why do you have to purchase the machine though an MLM company instead of being able to just go to Walmart and buy one?"

Response: Because this isn't a "wal-mart" product. This is a high end medical device. When was the last time you associated high quality "designer" products with a discount mega store? Do you see Lamborghinis sitting in the lot at your corner used car lot? No, you don't. These water generators are in a class far beyond WallyWorld.

As for the mlm component, while I am personally a huge advocate for the business model, Enagic is not an mlm company. The machines are distributed via the "Direct Selling" distribution model. Commissions are earned one time per sale with the purchase of a machine. Unlike mlm where there is typically an "autoship" or recurring monthly order to generate residual income.

What Enagic does have in place is a multi-tiered payout in which several distributors benefit from the sale of a machine. But that payout and the number of people who benefit is limited. In order for anyone to make money, another machine must be sold.

Quote: "Also, if the health benefits are so high, why aren't governments stepping in and implementing it into the water delivery infrastructure to ensure everybody has access to low acidic water? That probably would be a more cost effective approach."

Response: You're kidding, right? When was the last time the federal government did anything "cost effective?" I won't get into that conversation, though. I think that's enough said.

Nothing good comes from the government "stepping in" on a free market. I think we've all seen proof of that with the bailout fiasco.

Ultimately it comes down to this: There will always be two sides to this conversation.

a) Those who are entrepreneurs and live a life of abundance, prosperity and optimism, taking charge of their own lives and working hard to achieve their dreams and goals in life that take the Enagic business in hand and make something better for themselves and their family.

There are also those who who have the courage to step up and try the water for themselves instead of relying on fear mongering naysayers whose life mission it is to propagate negativity, disinformation and fear in the lives of naive people.

and b) Everyone else. Especially those who thrive on belittling others and things they do not understand in order to make themselves look better and feel better about their product, service or whatever it is they are trying to spread.

Marketers who compare themselves to Enagic and do so by attempting to discredit the Kangen machines do so out of desperation as they slowly lose market share to superior a product. It is an age old dilemma in the advertising world which has been seen many many times before.

Consumer warning: Pay very close attention to practically every "review" site you see on the market. If you look closely you will find that almost every one is a front for an ionizer distributor.

While these other ionizer manufacturers may not have an "mlm" or direct sales model in place, do not for one second think that the people promoting their machines are not getting paid.

Apparently "getting paid less" is enough of an argument for these deceptive marketers to launch smear campaigns against Enagic. Never mind the fact that they themselves engage in deceptive practices to make consumers "trust" them as so called "unbiased authorities."

At the same time, look at actual Enagic distributor websites. You will find that they very rarely "compare" themselves to "discount products." And that is because Enagic water generators stand on their own merit. End of argument - there is no comparison.

So ask yourself this as a smart consumer: Do you think a Mercedes sales person's commission is higher than that of a Toyota sales person? Does that make Mercedes a bad car? Does that make Mercedes a bad company because their cars cost more?

Think about it.

I drink 64 ounces of water daily on any given day (usually tap water, and a third of the time spring water from the store). I have terrible problems with my gums, weight, and not healing well. For all those who say that if you just drink the daily recommended water daily you will see those same effects from a kangen water machine are sadly mistaken.

Also for those who say that kangen water is no different than regular water, you haven't done your research. To make water microclustered it has to be electrolysed, thereby making it actually absorbable by the cells of the body. The only way regular water could get that to happen to it is if it were struck by lightning and then drinking the water right afterwards in the same vicinity as it was hit. Beyond that you would be hard pressed to find regular water with better receptivity to the body.

For those who say that they will only believe it when it gets peer reviewed and has scientific research to back it up. A) The FDA has board members that are tied to the medical industry -- often times board members/ceos from a pharmaceutical and/or so called anti cancer organization and also ex FDA board members will later sit on the boards of these companies and organizations.

This is all to say that I think that any ionized water machine you can get, do it. If you can afford the expensive ones go ahead. I cannot, but I have found a batch ionizer online for about $159, so that is what I am going to do when I get a little bit of money.

If just drinking regular water was a cure in itself than I should be one of the healthiest people on my block.

I've been using the Kangen water for only two days and have noticed some dramatic changes in various areas of my health. I have a degree in biology-chemistry and am a natural skeptic, but so far, I am impressed by how I feel.

I also noticed, while doing some research that there are some websites that claim to be unbiased reviews and "not affiliated with or selling either brand" is endorsing the cheaper machine. As a full time web developer I noticed that another site with the exact same design is indeed selling the cheaper machine. Obviously the sites are from the same people.

Anyway, I think the water tastes great and I have noticed a huge difference in my health (and I frequently drank water -even before kangen).

My son is almost six years old and has autism. He has had almost 40 hour weeks since he turned two years old with ABA therapists, OT, speech therapists, feeding specialists, and adaptive physical education.

My family went to Arkansas last Saturday to visit family. My father and aunt had a Kangen water machine. We started Trevor on 8.5ph Kangen water the next day.

In two days, my son talked and made sense for the very first time! No lie! In the past he only jabbered a few words and numbers but never when prompted. It is now one week later and he is answering questions, singing a song from beginning to end, lifting his spoon to feed himself and actually making it to his mouth without dropping it. Even more - he is sleeping through the night. In the past he was my nocturnal child who stayed up for several days at a time with maybe two to four hours of sleep each night.

The eye contact is amazing and he is telling me "I love you" and gives exciting hugs. Today we went to El Torito for Sunday brunch and he behaved perfectly and enjoyed his food.

So my point is, I don't care what any negative person has to say because I believe in the power of the secret and why be negative when I can be positive! If you sell a different product, great for you. But you don't have to beat up the competition to make your product look better. It is what it is!

What if your water cannot help children with autism? Do you want to have it on your back that you might be discouraging many people who could be helped to try something that may not help them?

So hell yes, I purchased a Kangen water machine and I am expecting it on Monday! Kangen helps autism I will tell you. Forget selling the system. I will give you water for free to help your child with autism even if I have to keep purchasing them myself!

I do not need the money -- my husband is a very successful broker. This is to help people - not a selfish gig!

anon85275

Here's my take to all independent distributors of electronic ionizers. Whenever you claim that your product is better than Enagic and that the way they market their product is a scam, will show to the world you are an amateur business person. Totally behind school of economics.

Just look at the facts: Amway, Market America, Quixtar, and other networking, direct selling companies are making billions of dollars moving products made in the USA. Now, do you hear them putting each other down?

Go to any mall and you'll see JC Penney next to Macy's, Kohls, Target, Sears, Nordstrom and other boutique shops clustered together. Do you know these stores don't bring each other down? No, of course not. Why? It's all about market share.

McDonalds, Burger King, Denny's, KFC, Popeye's, Toyota, nissan, Ford, GM, BMW, Mercedes Benz are all clustered together. It's up to the consumer to make a choice based on convenience, value-added, and prices.

Now if you believe Enagic's product is more expensive, don't buy it. If you believe other brands are cheaper, you think the quality is better and acceptable then go for it. But, don't knock down the competition because your product is cheaper, and of lesser quality.

The more you mention Enagic's product, the more people will dig about the product. They'll find out Enagic is of better quality and worth the price.

Thanks to all of you amateurs, Enagic's business is exploding and capturing the high-net-worth, celebrities, athletes, medical practitioners and middle-high class customers. Wall street brokers are buying Enagic's machines. Weak product, weak marketing, unsecured business wannabes resors to name calling.

anon85033

What's so funny? Just analyze this: you can buy 24 liters of bottled water for $5.50. Let's say you drink just 1 liter of bottled water a day. Remember you're suppose to have eight glasses of water a day and that is equivalent to six liters. So technically you need six bottles a day to keep your body hydrated. So you need to buy six sets of 24 bottles each. That means you will need to spend $33.00 a month for your drinking water. That's $3,960 for 10 years -- assuming prices of bottled water don't go up.

Now, how about the wife and the children? Don't they need also to drink water. So let's just say you spend $100 a month on average for your entire family for water consumption. In 10 years you've spent $12,000 just on bottled water. And don't forget the gasoline you will use to drive and get your bottled water. So, Enagic's $3,980 unit is less expensive in the long run. And the amazing thing is, they make five models to choose from. There is one for $1,280. They also have a $2,380 unit, a 3,280 unit, a $3,980 unit and a $5,980 unit. If cash is short buy the least expensive one for $1,280.

If you don't believe about the five types of water the unit produces, then don't buy it.

People thought for thousands of years the following:

The world was flat. Man was not meant to fly. Cars will never replace horses. Electricity, are you crazy? There will only be fie computers in the world. Air-conditioner? Why do I need a cell phone? GPS -- what? Are you for real? So on and on. The skeptics will always be there whining, complaining and totally broke and the forward and open minded keep proving them wrong!

I'm an open-minded engineer. That is, I am open to new possibilities, but I'm not so open-minded my brains have fallen out.

When I see controlled clinical tests (blind testing, large sample size, adequate control groups, test for placebo effect, etc), and the results are published in a peer-reviewed journal, and the results are repeatable, then I will gladly believe in these "water ionization" machines. Until such time, there are too many possible explanations for the "miraculous" health improvements.

1) The average American doesn't drink enough plain water every day anyway. Drinking more plain water and eating less junk is a huge step in the right direction by itself.

2) The body's PH is carefully regulated internally, and destabilizing it may not be the best idea in the long run.

3) Placebo effect? People do lots of things to their cars and they swear the "butt-dyno" tells them it has more power, but a real dynamometer says otherwise.

There are more issues I could address, but suffice it to say I want to see concrete, objective, scientific evidence before I buy into any of the advertising.

I have heard about the devastation of Lyme disease. What a horrible thing to have to go through!

I have had my own health problems which make working a 40 hour week as a painter problematical at times, if I am required to do a lot of ladder work or spend a lot of time on my knees. Because of this, I have had real financial problems the last four years.

I know trying to buy a $4000 device for detoxifying my body, regardless of how toxic it is, just isn't in the realm of reality for me. After being around toxins for almost 40 years, I'm sure there isn't much that could be more beneficial!

It's sad that someone with the alleged keys to "The Elixir of Life". deems it necessary to make the kind of profits, generally reserved for the types of parasites that control the pharmaceutical industry.

anon82269

11 months ago at the age of 29 I couldn't walk due to severe symptoms of Neurological Lyme Disease. I had to quit my job, lost my home, and had to move back in with family. I have been married 11 years and have three children and our lives drastically changed when I got Lyme Disease. If any of you know what Lyme Disease really is, you will know how debilitating it is.

It got so bad that I was not able to walk, think, or even talk at times. That is, until a friend of mine introduced me to Kangen water.

The very day she introduced me to the water, I drank 20 glasses within a two hour period. I couldn't get enough of it. At first, I did have a metal taste in my mouth. If you don't know where that comes from, you need to do your research.

This water has a major detoxing factor to it which flushes toxins and heavy metals from your body -- a very good thing!

Anyway, after drinking the 20 glasses of water, my pain was completely gone, and I was able to walk for the first time in about five months. In fact, I was able to run! My family couldn't believe the difference in me. This was day one with the water.

There will be people who are always skeptical; that is their nature. People have to make their own decisions and most people have to "see it to believe it." It's not worth fighting over. If you don't like the water, fine. But don't go out there slamming it when you really haven't given it much of a chance. There are those who have been truly transformed by it, me being one of them.

Just because you see "bad" posts doesn't mean you should stop researching. Don't take the first words you see for truth. Do your research. Enagic has been FDA approved and has all of the paperwork/certificates to prove its authenticity on their website for the public to see.

The science behind it is incredible. Do your research.

After reading all of the pro-Kangen comments, I wonder: "How the did humanity ever make it this far without Kangen?"

The truth is, humans get along fine as long as they're able to consume pure water (water free of chemical additives)in adequate amounts. While owning a Kangen water purifier at the cost of $4000, would probably ensure that anyone would drink plenty of pure water all day, just so they get their money's worth, don't you work too hard for your money to do that?

Instead, I purchased a simple counter-top water distiller for $99. Distillers work using the same "science" mother nature does to produce the purest water: vaporization and condensation. You'd be amazed what is left behind after the distillation process.

For trace minerals and detoxification of my body, I simply consume California Earth Minerals' Terramin powder. It also handles balancing the pH of my body.

So before you jump on the Kangen bandwagon, do a little bit of your own research. Consider it earning $4,000 for nice vacation. Doesn't it make sense to at least trya distiller before you blow that kind of money on a Kangen?

I promise you, you'll be glad you did.

Kangen water is awful. It is just a stupid scam. Who would buy a water filter that costs three thousand dollars. If you like kangen water, you should know that it is not alkaline water. Kangen water will make you have cancer. Honestly it will make your life worse. -gingy

anon79345

OK, here's an "MLM/Pyramid" breakdown for those of you who are misinformed...

Enagic sells products through direct sales, not MLM. I currently work for a private corporation, and I am at the bottom of that corporation, which means I make the least amount of money, while each manager above me makes incrementally more, concluding with the guy at the top of the corporation -ah, I mean, "pyramid."

Now draw yourself a picture. Do you see a pyramid shape? One guy on top, lots of little guys at the bottom? Take a look at the public/private corporation you work for. What are the chances in your lifetime - if you don't have a four-year degree and connections - of making as much as the CEO or president if you're one of the little guys? Even if you work really, really hard.

Although I work my butt off every day, they'll never promote me to the top!

Thank God for direct selling, not MLM, to supplement my income. Now I have the opportunity to make what I'm worth -- as long as I work for it. And who knows? If I work even harder, and ethically, maybe someday I can join others (not one) at the top!

Think about it.

anon78733

People talk that Kangen water is so great that they drink a gallon of it a day. Did you try drinking a gallon a water before trying Kangen? The body needs lots of water daily and I seriously doubt that the Kangen people were trying a gallon of "regular" water before trying a gallon of Kangen water.

anon77497

My daughter has a Kangen water machine and loves it. She feels better than she has in years. I am interested in trying it, but when I mentioned it to my doctor he said he wanted to see a break down of what is in the water.

Since I have a blood pressure problem I imagine he wants to know if there is anything that could be damaging in the water. Would appreciate some information. Thank you.

I am doing an objective paper for a college writing class and decided to do it on ionized water. I didn't know there were so many different names for it and I cannot find a real good definition for it.

I an in anatomy and physiology II and do not see any way to verify the claims I have been reading nor did my instructor. The chemistry instructor was rather puzzled by it all too.

After about 22 hours worth of research, I am beginning to believe it is full of half-truths and pseudo-science. I will study on. Don the Elder

Kangen water tastes dead. Tea and coffee made with it taste chalky and thick. And at least half the time, it makes me slightly queasy, bordering on outright nauseated.

I've been drinking it for months (free, through the friend of a friend) and have had absolutely no changes in my health in any way.

And, if it's so great, where is the published science? I can't find any real research, only anecdotal stories.

I'm sticking by my belief that MLMs are pyramid schemes. Thousands of dollars for something you can buy in most stores now? You have to be kidding me! Scam. Foul taste. No science. What more does a thinking person need to know?

RichardBravo

OK people seriously need to get educated on the whole "scam" rhetoric you are so quick to throw around. Do you even know the meaning of the word?

Scam: (n.) A fraudulent business scheme; a swindle.

Fraudulent: (adj.) Engaging in fraud; deceitful.

Fraud: (n.) A deception deliberately practiced in order to secure unfair or unlawful gain.

Now tell me: how did you get scammed?

Here's the thing with all the people who are so quick to call something a scam or diss the mlm industry: Let me ask you something. The last time you bought something - anything - did you call the store a scam?

Did you call the car dealership a scam the last time you bought a car? Did you call the grocer a scam the last you bought food? Did you call the store in the mall a scam the last time you bought clothing?

When someone buys a Mercedes do they balk at the price and start name calling because the dealer and the manufacturer and all the other people involved in bring that car to the market make money in the process, hence increasing the price of that car tenfold by the time it gets to you?

Or are you under the impression that the mlm industry is the only business model on the planet that makes a profit when something is sold?

Or maybe you think the distributors in the mlm industry should what they do for free? Are you the only person on the planet who should get paid just because your "job" is different from what we do to make a living?

Or maybe your "job" is the pinnacle of morality and ethics, and you see people in the direct selling industry or other alternative means of earning a living, like a home business, as unworthy of a pay check.

It is sad that people are so quick to discredit anything that has to do with a direct selling model from a sheer naive mindset, just because you don't understand it.

I seem to recall that mindset being the basis of much destruction throughout history.

The difference with mlm from other retail distribution models, such as a grocery store, is that you can see clearly that the person bringing you the product is making money on the deal.

When you buy groceries you don't think about the grocer making money do you? Why? Because it doesn't matter; you need food, so pay up without question.

Just because home business owners who choose to leverage the mlm business model make money does not make the model a scam. It just means you have a problem for some reason and you choose to label it because you either don't understand it, you haven't succeeded yourself, or someone burned you in the past and you're ticked off and choose to take it out on anyone who does choose mlm.

But that's like saying Toyota is a scam just because they had some recalls. A few bad apples make an entire industry a "scam?" That's naive and unfair.

Get your head straight, let it go and move on. Maybe you'll live a more productive, happy life. ~RB

Kangen water is amazing. It's sounds like the naysayers have nothing better to do than to whine. I have a kidney disease and my doctor even said I should drink the water.

I'm losing some of the edema and I don't feel as bad as I have in the past. I am not a distributor, I am a faithful drinker of this water and will continue to do so. I am buying a machine for my home so that I can fully receive all the benefits I need.

lovekangen

I’m sure that not all Enagic Distributors are as “receivable” to Anon 69527 and some may appear to be only about the sell. Enagic distributors have educated more of the American public of the benefits of alkalizing the body in the last seven years than all others put together in the history of our ionizers.

Please, try to keep from confusing passion and excitement of an exceptional device with only desire for profit. Many distributors share this info full time as a business and should be compensated as any business should.

I love Kangen water and have received it free for ten months. I, my wife and ten year old have had amazing physical results and education. I am ordering my SD501 next week. My “Upline" distributor has been extremely patient.

anon69527

Bottom line is: kangen is scam!

The company cares more about the "business" of selling "product" on a purely emotional level (MLM) than the product itself! It needs to be overpriced so it can "feed the upline."

There are much better units at half the price and without the "Born again Christian, Southern Baptist" devotional brew HAHA that goes with and sales pitch.

Do your research people, leave the emotions at home and compare. You'll leave kangen in the weeds where it belongs!

anon68983

People need to do their own research and I don't mean surf the web and repeat all the garbage shown in the incredible number of sites that do not know what they are talking about.

Just to clarify: Otto Warburg Nobel Prize winner did not discover that the cause of cancer is lack of "oxygen in the cells." This next statement is taken directly from the Nobel Prize website, "he has shown, among other things, that cancerous cells can live and develop, *even* in the absence of oxygen." Nowhere does it mention the cause or the whole lack of oxygen argument.

Oh good lord! Are you guys kidding? Kangen water tastes horrible! It is not amazing. It tastes like metal, leaves your mouth with 'cotton mouth syndrome', turning your saliva into glue. suspicious20: One of the properties of the Kangen Water, is the micro clustering. Because the water molecules are five to six clusters after ionization, it penetrates the cell wall faster then normal water molecules of 15-20 clusters.

In the labs, prescription drugs are designed and tested to absorb into the body with the clusters size of 15-20 (a certain rate of time). The best way to understand, would be to research the tea demonstration. If you watch the video you will see that the Kangen water penetrates the the tea bag faster then the tap water. In fact, it makes five or six cups of strong tea before the tap water can even make one. This demonstrates the micro clustering ability.

Everybody's body is different and as a general rule, you don't want your prescription drugs to enter the body 10-20 times faster then they were intended to, do you? That is why they suggest drinking the neutral 7.0 pH that the machine makes, as it has not been ionized.

In regards to scientific studies, just research them; quite a few readily available.

And last, Doctor Shinya is best known as the inventor of the colonoscopy for the endoscopic treatment of polyps and without requiring use of surgery.

His revolutionary “Shinya Method” has become widely used in colonoscopies, and is the standard screening for the leading, non-tobacco related cancer killer in the US, colon cancer.

I purchased my SD501 because of the research that I did concerning the micro-clustering properties. The three main properties really make this a no-brainer for anyone -- yes anyone.

We all eat food filled with all kinds of additives, chemicals which end up in our fat cells and lead to toxification. I did not have any effects from the water quickly after I bought it.

Since then however, I have had several improvements in my health. Buy a machine. It will be the best purchase of your life.

Kangen water is a rip off. do not waste your money. I have had mine a year and nothing.

anon61671

The chemistry here is just wrong. H2O doesn't split into HO and OH. That doesn't even make sense. H2O splits into H+ and OH- ions.

RichardBravo

A quick addendum to my previous post just for clarification.

The SD501 generates acidic water options ranging from 5.5pH - 2pH with multiple variations in between. (I only indicated a range of 3.5-2)

The Electrolysis Enhancer is used to create these waters (sort of a watered down bleach if you will).

There is also an 11pH water created during the generation of the Strong Acid water (2.5-2pH) which is often overlooked by the so called "third party experts" when they review these machines.

(Research the dual channel water separation that is used by the Enagic machines to generate the various water options.)

The 11pH water acts as a detergent, while the 2.5pH water serves as an antibacterial. The two combined have replaced the majority of the common household cleaners in my home. Yes they are created using the electrolysis solution, but I now have a near chemical free "green" home.

Just a little more food for thought.

I'd be happy to provide further information on the solution should anyone need more reference material.

Cheers! ~Richard

anon58008: Sorry to see that you have been misinformed some how. I still can't figure out why this particular topic is so prevalent regarding Kangen Water. First of all, my comments are only in regards to the Enagic machines specifically. I do not represent any other machine and cannot speak on their functionality.

The Enagic SD501, which is the top selling unit, or any model in the Enagic lineup of water generators which creates acidic waters, utilizes a simple saline type solution to assist with the electrolysis process when generating the ACID waters available with the machine. (3.5pH - 2pH) These water options are *not* for drinking purposes but for topical applications and cleaning purposes, which is clearly indicated in the machine's instructions as well as in various presentations and online marketing materials.

The high pH drinking waters (8.5, 9, 9.5) do *not* use the solution, but are strictly generated via the large plate configuration and electricity within the generator. Again, *no* chemicals are involved in creating the drinking water.

I do my best to stay out of the melodrama battles that ensue in this industry, however you must keep in mind that there are manufacturers and more so a great deal of their representatives and distributors that have embarked on an aggressive campaign to discredit Enagic and Kangen water itself, by spreading misinformation under the guise of "expert" or "non biased review" websites. The majority of these sources, however, are nothing more than competitor affiliates posing as third party labs, experts and reviewers, and are constantly misquoting Enagic to further their agenda of convincing the public that their machines are "just as good."

But ask yourself: When was the last time you saw a luxury car manufacturer embark on a gratuitous campaign to compare themselves to an economy car company? The simple answer is you haven't. And for good reason: there's no comparison to be had.

Yet many "bargain basement" companies are constantly comparing themselves to the top players. So too goes this industry.

Enagic is simply too classy to retort with similar name calling and discrediting the competition. And as a representative of the company, I strive to combat the issue by providing more value and being helpful. The machines speak for themselves, which at the end of the day, is all that matters.

If you haven't used a machine I recommend you do so prior to forming an opinion one way or the other. That is truly the only way for anyone to make an educated decision.

Sincerely, Richard Bravo

anon58008

I am looking into this water thing. My concern is on the chemicals needed to help produce this water - they are toxic.

All the information I have found seems to make you believe that the entire transformation of the water from 'bad' water to 'better' water is done via electricity. But in fact the electricity is used to chemically break down the water it is actually the toxic chemicals that are doing the work. This makes me very concerned.

And until I can get a clear answer on the need for these chemicals - I will not be a customer. By the way, I also do not drink soda, which will literally melt a copper penny in a mater of days.

Remember - just because it is sold does not make it good for you.

anon57634

Suspicious20: You are blatantly ignoring hard evidence.

You can drink Kangen water with medication. The company simply advises you to not drink the high PH water 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after taking medication. The machine makes a 7.0 PH purified water to take your medication with.

Since when can you purchase anything containing any amount of platinum for $25 at Wal-Mart?

Yes, the Enagic machine does cost $4000. And yes, that is quite a markup considering that the machine costs around $1400 to make. Consider this: look at the shoes you are wearing. I am assuming that you paid a minimum of $50 for that pair of shoes. Do you know how much it costs to make those shoes? $2. I believe that is a much higher markup.

The other alkaline machines are made of plastic and titanium mesh and cost less than $100 to make (not to mention that they are outsourced to China, Korea, etc...) and then they charge $2000.

And as for suggesting that this is all a sham simply because it is not approved by the FDA, well, I think you need to open your eyes a bit. Are you aware that the FDA released a statement in 2005 stating that marijuana had no medical value despite worldwide scientific evidence suggesting otherwise? And yet they approved marinol, a synthesized cannabinoid produced by Solvay Pharmaceuticals. Do you know why this is? The FDA accepts money from pharmaceutical companies in order to perform "research". The pharmaceutical companies largely fund the FDA. On top of that, the pharmaceutical companies have 1,274 registered pharmaceutical lobbyists in Washington, D.C.

These lobbyists supply lawmakers with all manner of gifts in order to gain their support. The federal government is the other funder of the FDA. Do you realize what this means? The FDA is run by the pharmaceutical companies. Pharmaceutical companies are not in the least interested in healing people. They are interested in keeping people on drugs so that they keep making money.

Do you think that maybe that's why they would never approve an ionized water machine? Since when is it safe to trust the government, much less the FDA?

anon55385

When I first heard about Kangen water, I was excited, as I thought it might really be able to help with my migraines. But, I really wanted to know the science behind this water before dishing out the very expensive machine.

Stephen Lower critically examines some of the claims about "ionized" and alkaline waters from the standpoint of modern chemistry and physiology in order to provide you with the information you need to make your own informed decision.

Regarding the many testimonials for Kangen water. Studies have shown that placebos can relieve the symptoms in about 40 percent of those who suffer from chronic ailments.

So, do your research! Good luck to you all!

anon53718

Enagic is the best hands down.

For those of you looking for scientific proof, all you have to do is examine the differences in quality of materials used and amount of electricity run over the plates to separate the ions in the water.

I am a mechanical engineer and have done extensive research on this. That is the only thing that matters in these machines. Kangen uses the best grade of titanium coated in platinum and runs 230 watts of electricity. No other company even comes close to this. All of them use inferior material, they stretch the metal on their plates which exposes the metal and could cause metallic poisoning by the way, and they only use about 80 watts of electricity. Otherwise their machines would blow up since they aren't made to handle that much wattage.

This is why the Enagic machine is the only one certified as a medical device. Actually, the competition machines are all the exact same machine but constructed with different bells and whistles and then have a different brand name thrown on them.

For those complaining about price and the MLM crap, I also did research on that end. I found out the the Enagic machines cost $1400 to produce and sell for $4000 - about 65 percent pay out for commissions.

The competitor's brand costs about $300 to make and sells for $2000 - about an 85 percent pay out for commissions.

So you tell me, who's really the rip off?

To gl1200 phil. As regards your overly acidic body. You are in acidosis and if your blood pH drops below 7.35, and your body has no more ability to compensate, then you are dead within a few hours. Your teeth are breaking because over the years they have had calcium leached to keep your blood from dropping below pH 7.35.

Change yourself into an alkaline pH immediately or you can bet that your hips are going next.

anon51448

gl1200 phil posting #50 is completely backward.

1. Cancer survives in an acidic environment low pH not high pH. Alkaline is high pH and while we are at it, electrolysis splits water into -OH and positive H.

2. Enagic is the only company to use medical grade platinum and titanium. Which do you think is the best company out there?

Kangen water is amazing it is a small price to pay when it comes to your health. it is water that has a different approach to h2o and your health. Just research it first and try the water for a month or two before you talk. First, does any other company give you free water first before you try it? no. that is a fact. Second, does any other company give you a choice of 8.0 ph/9.0 ph /9.5 ph? nope Third, does any other company give you a 15-year guarantee on the machine? Fourth, do they give you a five-year warranty? Fifth, do any of them have doctors standing behind the product So when it comes to credibility i don't think i will listen to non-credibile advice unless you have the proof. i can try to convince you here with my own research but i think i'd rather let you kill your own selves while i watch you die like the rest of the U.S.A with the highest deaths when it comes to cancer, swine flue, obesity, diabetes, Alzheimer's and dementia and so many other crazy things. PeterSWFL

I am new to this blog and have read previous postings which I will not address at this time. My first concern is to address the initial article, "What is Kangen water?" I am a drinker of Kangen water, but not an Enagic distributor. Prior to becoming a full time drinker of the water, I did extensive research on the concept of ionized/alkalized water as it pertains to good health, and on the distinctions of the various units that produce ionized/alkalized water. As the article states, Kangen is a brand name. It is also a registered trademark for water produced by only an ionizer/alkalizer manufactured by Enagic. The reason that "Kangen" almost always appears on web sites sponsored by representatives of alternative manufacturers is, people are looking for Kangen water. Most people are introduced to ionized/alkalized water by Enagic distributors who are out there spreading the word. After many people learn about the water, some naturally begin to look elsewhere for more information, and frankly for more affordable options, and the internet is a pretty handy place to start. That is where I begin to have a problem with this original article. The text here is substantially less biased against Enagic than other articles I have read, but still is flavored toward the notion that, since Kangen water is ionized/alkalized water, and since other non-Enagic units make ionized/alkalized water, it's all the same. That's like saying that Coca-Cola(TM) is caramel flavored carbonated water and is therefore the same thing as any other "cola" made by any other company. Having established the debatable lack of distinction begin the various waters, the article claims that the difference then, is the price and the marketing method of Enagic. A large portion (50 percent to 60 percent) of any direct-selling manufacturer's selling price consists of expenses for marketing, advertising, and sales. Enagic distributors perform all the marketing, advertising, and sales, plus all customer service after the sale. Enagic allots 57 percent of the price of the unit to the distributors to compensate them for these services. Apparently some of the other companies same substantially on marketing and advertising costs because Enagic distributors are doing the work for them. But that is still not why Enagic units are more expensive. It's popular to denounce MLMs and blame that marketing technique for the price of Enagic units, but the claims are clearly not valid. The real reason the Enagic units are so expensive is because they are the best built using the best materials. Each Enagic unit is hand built from start to finish by a single crafter. All parts used are manufactured by Enagic, never outsourced. The units are built to *never* have to be replaced. Any problems which may occur due to long-term use and normal wear and tear can be solved by part replacement or repair at a fraction of cost of replacing an entire unit. The "engine" of any ionizer is the chamber containing the electrolysis plates. The plates in the Enagic units are manufactured exclusively with medical grade titanium and platinum, both very expensive materials. Enagic's plates are larger than other manufacturer's plates, and are solid. Contrary to popular claims, solid plates present maximum surface area, are least susceptible to heat breakdown, and least likely to clog from buildup. If *any* breakdown occurs in the electrolysis chamber of another manufacturer's unit, the entire chamber must be replaced, since their chambers are sealed. Enagic chambers are *not* sealed so they can be opened and repaired if necessary. Think, "Having to replace the engine in your car because the water pump wears out." You have a choice. You can buy a cheaper unit to make your ionized water. The water will not be as stable, will likely lose its benefit quicker, and will sooner or later cost you more than the Kangen water from an Enagic unit. It may cease to give you *any* health benefit, if it ever does at all. It's up to you. Save your money or save your health. Which is more important?

gl1200phil

Thank you Mr Bravo for your thoughtful and informative reply. My tone in my posts was probably a little harsh. The wraps to remove the toxins in our bodies, sounds interesting and something that might be good for me. I had never heard of these before. Again, thank you for your kind rely! Good health, an old hippie seattle

RichardBravo

On another note: Regarding the chemical exposure in your career... I work with another company that manufactures an herbal body wrap product. I have heard countless stories of people going through serious detox during these body wraps.

One such instance was a lady that worked in some sort of chemical plant for 20 years or something like that. Some 15-20 years later when she came in contact with the body wrap, her friend who introduced her to it helped her do a wrap session. Apparently this woman's wraps turned bright orange during several sessions, which was the exact color and smell of the chemicals she had worked with for so many years.

I'm sure you already know that our skin being the largest organ of our body acts as a giant sponge.

I've also read similar instances where long time smokers went through several sessions and the towels came out various shades of brown and reeked of cigarette smoke.

Point is, you are correct. We live in a world surrounded by toxins and poisons that our bodies are simply "soaking up" through our daily lives. Pollution, chemicals in food, etc.

The worst part is most people are completely naive or worse, they ignore it.

RichardBravo

"OldHippie" What's up!

Well first of all for the record... I stand corrected sir. Not afraid to admit it. My feedback on CO2 was not entirely accurate. In most instances carbonation is relatively harmless in soda. There have been instances reported of negative effects but the jury is still out in my research.

I would concur with your previous findings that it is in fact the phosphoric acid as well as high fructose corn syrup that are two of the most damaging ingredients in soda. I knew this but had regurgitated something I found on CO2 in my previous posts. (note to self: Dumb, don't do again!)

As for my input stating 32/1 water to soda alkalinity, that was based on simple tests conducted by placing 8 ounces of soda in a container and adding 8 ounces of Kangen, 1 measurement at a time until the soda was in a neutralized state (7ph). The ratio varied between 20-32 glasses of Kangen, typically ranging on the high end. The point being to illustrate just how damaging to our body's alkaline state soda really is.

As for the user who commented on getting sick, I too am having a hard time believing it was directly contributed to the water. First thought was "you drank the wrong one." The SD501 makes several "types" of Kangen, which did you drink? There are a few that are too acidic or too alkaline for consumption-- they are intended for cleaning. There are clear warnings not to drink these. If you are still listening here, could you please explain *exactly* what happened?

Hippie... if I missed something in my response that you would like me to respond to please point it out. As you can see, the lack of of links in this discussion would make it relatively silly for me to be here with the intent to "sell." I really am here for the discussion and to learn myself, so I am open to everyone's input and will not hesitate to admit when I'm wrong.

Thank you for the "smart" conversation! ~RB

Having been on this on going discussion for several months my stances have been:

1. It is a proven medical fact cancer thrives in a basic (alkaline-low pH number) system and *cannot* survive in an acidic (high pH-neutral being 7) system.

2. I believe (this means opinion!) that drinking Kangen water or any other "processed" water raising pH levels is good for the human body. My problem is with the machine that makes Kangen water, the price and method of sale, not the Kangen water itself.

3. I do not believe (again-opinion!) that someone could have had damage done to their body from drinking Kangen water for four days (or forty for that matter!) that would result in hospitalization and the damage that is reported below. Again-my opinion. I would have to believe there must have been another factor or reason and the Kangen water was merely a coincidence. I would not be surprised if the MD in this case, was appeasing the patient, many have the attitude that most of their patients haven't a clue and might just agree to shut them up. Again this is *my opinion*.

4. I believe it is of the utmost importance in matters such as these, when we are all laymen, that people state their qualifications or state their resources to keep from giving advice that could be potentially harmful or lethal to others. Having said this:

5. I have been waiting for some kind of response from Mr Bravo, for some of his claims I have refuted!

Kangen water is the only water in the world that is not acid water. So if you have anything to say about Kangen water, drink it for a month brfore you say it. Mt father is diabetic, has gout, has blood clots and several other things wronge with him also. He drank the water and stopped drinking it twice because he believed it bothered his body in some way. But now he is drinking it all the time and he went to the doctor for his bloodwork and the doctor said his bloodwork could not be any more perfect. He is 85 years old. You should never say a word about this water unless you have drunk it for a month. It will detox your body, so the guy that got sick needs to go drink some more. I have looked for years for the one health thing that worked and I have found it -- Kangen water. I will never be without it!

anon40342

Why do they tell you not to drink this Kangen water when you eat? I have been drinking the water since feb and I love it. I have cut out all tea and soft drinks I have so much more energy and feel better. this is good stuff.

anon40330

I drank kangen water for 4 days, and wound up in the hospital. I was having such severe pains in my lower ribs/ upper stomach that I was doubled over in pain. My esophagus is badly damaged, and I am on 3 meds to try to repair it. I can barely eat, I have lost 10 lbs. in a week. My doctor said the problem with these "fad drinks" is that they are not FDA approved. I am so mad that I have to suffer through this pain, and so much for the "free week" of water someone pushed me to try. I can only imagine what that hospital bill will cost me. I have never had a problem like this before, and now I am very sick because of this water.

One great piece of "propaganda" I came across was from an Australian beverage producers concern, whitewashing the use of phosphoric acid. It can be easily found on the Internet.

gl1200phil

Thank you Mr Bravo, for taking the time to answer my questions about carbonated water and body pH levels.

My research, based on actual scientific experiments and research, which I found online, came up with some of the same results as you with one BIG exception.

Co2 does not have that great of an effect on pH levels in soft drinks and sparkling water and that is NOT the reason why they are so harmful! One study allowed the drinks to sit over night opened, to allow all of the CO2 to dissipate. When pH was measured, the next day, the change was minimal, demonstrating that the CO2 was not the culprit in the low pH levels.

Another study did find that sparkling water did have slightly lower pH levels than the plain mineral water used as a benchmark, but well above that of fruit juices, colas and other soft drinks.

The biggest culprit of acidity in soft drinks is the phosphoric acid used as a flavoring to give the "tart" taste. There are other ingredients that can be substituted for the phosphoric acid, such as citric acid,

but they break down quickly and are not practically free. Phosphoric acid is a waste by-product just like the fluoride we have been poisoned with for years in our drinking water... These substances would have to be discarded, which would have a cost associated with the disposal, if industry hadn't found a "creative" way to get rid of these toxic substances. (Are they still using mercury in the amalgam tooth fillings and as a preservative for vaccines, which some

researchers have blamed for the incredible rise in the cases of autism in children??? Sure hope not!!) All of these substances, have come under fire for their suitability for human consumption.

Doing this little piece of research, really pointed out to me the need to eliminate all of the toxic substances we are exposed to daily, and the need of "special tools" to help our bodies detoxify. My father died in August

2006 with a brain tumor associated with cancer, and my mother is currently having chemotherapy for lymphoma.

I am a painter and have been around toxic substances for 35 years. Long before my parents ever got sick, I had always half jokingly said that all those toxins I've been around for years would eventually kill me. It is less of a joke every day!

Mr Bravo,

Having reread your comments about CO2 and pH levels in soft drinks, here are your statements copied and pasted:

"I have no medical credentials, but I have done a lot of personal research over the last 7 years on the importance of alkalizing the body. CO2 is the primary reason soda is so bad for you. It takes 32 8oz glasses of water to neutralize a single 8oz glass of soda. CO2 is acidic and toxic to the human body, therefore, carbonated drinks, such as sparkling water, are actually unhealthy for our bodies. Any sparkling water that I have tested pH levels on, registers between 3-2.5 pH; neutral being 7. Maintaining an alkaline, 7+ pH level, in our bodies chemistry is critical to avoiding disease. Extensive research has shown that degenerative diseases like cancer thrive in acidic environments and die in alkaline environments. There are many books on the subject. Linus Pauling's research is among the best."

Everything I have read totally concurs with your statements of cancer thriving in an acidic body and unable to live in a basic (alkaline) one.

A little about me... As a high school sophomore, I took chemistry. I was the only sophomore to do so that year. There were two juniors in the class. The balance were seniors, numbering 30 or 32 students. (You can draw your own conclusions...) I also took biology and physics in college, however, I never graduated. I do have some educational background in what I am writing about. The "facts" you have stated above about CO2 are wrong! And to be generous, YOU ARE *misinformed*. Where you came up with:

"CO2 is the primary reason soda is so bad for you. It takes 32 8oz glasses of water to neutralize a single 8oz glass of soda."

I don't know, but I'll let anyone else reading this, to make their own conjecture! My previous post states my sources.

Did I read somewhere that you sold these devices....??

anon34788

Can you really get these at Wal Mart? because I got mine, for the comparatively expensive $2,500.

I *will* say though, that after about a month, I am drinking a *lot* more water than I normally did. (BTW, I was/am a skeptic with this, and any pyramid type scheme.) So, I'll wait for any improvements. I *think* it's making me feel more lively...

You know, it does make you drink more water (a lot more too, not just a little). If it only does that, it may eventually be worthwhile... though if you can get a similar product at Wal Mart, that's great.

RichardBravo

CORRECTION:

In my last post I stated Kangen Water ORP levels as a positive(+) number, when in fact the correct level is a negative(-) ORP number. Negative ORP levels are the desired number you would look for when testing the ORP level of any given beverage. The higher the negative number, the better the oxidation reduction potential will be. Sorry for the confusion.

RE: gl1200phil

I have no medical credentials, but I have done a lot of personal research over the last 7 years on the importance of alkalizing the body. Linus Pauling's research is among the best.

In addition to higher pH levels of 8.5-9.5, is the high positive ORP level in Kangen water. ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential). Think of how metals rust as they are exposed to the elements over time; so too our cells begin to breakdown as we age. Kangen water has been measured with up to +500 to +900 ORP levels (depending on the source water) which is thought to be a major factor in the incredible results people are experiencing; essentially providing extra help for the body to heal and repair itself. Aubrey de Grey has provided fascinating research on this subject.

RE: anon33067

The potential for dissolving time released medication too quickly is the main concern. Breaking down an aspirin or vitamin faster would be a good thing. Another factor is that drugs are basically acidic, as such, Kangen water may neutralize a medication to some degree or all together, rendering it useless and countering the desired result from the medication. It is beneficial to drink Kangen water with supplements as it aids in providing a positive alkaline environment that the body's chemistry needs to absorb nutrients properly.

Our body is such a fascinating organism that is incredibly well designed and smart. The basis behind the positive effects that Kangen provides is all about supporting our body's chemistry so it can do its thing the way it was intended to do... heal & repair itself.

One more comment in regards to medications... I have read many statements where people seem to be confused or misinformed as to what is actually stated about Kangen water and medication. *No where* is it stated in "official" company literature that you *cannot* take medications and drink Kangen water, as to imply that Enagic is stating that you cease the intake of your medication. It is simply recommended that you not take your medication "with" Kangen water. It is recommended that you wait at least 30 minutes prior and 30 minutes after, taking your meds with clean drinking water, before resuming the consumption of Kangen water. That's it. Nothing more.

I hope that helps. ~Richard

anon33067

So the company is saying that you shouldn't take medication with the Kangen water because it can dissolve the medication faster than normal water.

It should be pretty simple to prove or disprove their warning. How about just taking 2 tablets of medication, putting one in regular water and one in the Kangen water? According to their claims, there should be a distinct difference in the time it takes to dissolve.

This seems to be about the only thing that can be tested in regards to the companies claims as to health benefits and warnings.

I've heard the whole ionizing of water speech years ago and it was about making water wetter for cleaning laundry without soap. Turned out to be bunk. This really feels like a spin on that.

But heck, if it dissolves that medication better, well maybe there is something to it.

gl1200phil

I have had acid problems most of my life. I have put my basic questions first, and my background after, I doubt many would want to plod through it, so before I lose too many readers I ask:

(thanks to all for reading and any discussion- peace-old hippie seattle)

Getting back to me, age 54, since I was in my teens I have always drank lots of carbonated water in such forms as sparkling water, seltzer water, club soda, some San Pelligrino and Perrier, lots of Talking Rain (Sourced and bottled locally and an old friend of mine, leases the property that it is sourced from in Preston, WA). I have found on many occasions tap water and bottled water give me indigestion and make me feel bloated. The only time I get this from carbonated water is when I have really bad indigestion and/or acid reflux.

Which brings me to my main question, if anybody *knows* the answer, not a guess, does sparkling water act like this Kangen water?? Don't worry I'll take any answers with a grain of salt, unless of course someone has genuine credentials and is willing to give them, as the fine retired physician did.

Cancer in the family- My father, three years ago died of a brain tumor at age 82, and had prostate cancer for 3(?) years. Now, my mother, at age 83, has lymphoma and is doing chemotherapy. Now, how all of this links together, with the Kangen water, which I just learned of from reading this an hour ago, and being stated as fact-not as a plea for sympathy is after seeing my mother, I got into my truck and on the ride home, I heard a discussion about cancer. I can't tell you who they were or even what station I was listening to, but it was stated that *cancer thrives in an acidic system and will not grow in an alkaline one.* My mother doesn't like to drink water and I try to encourage it, but it's just no use.

Since my early teens, I have had a very acidic system. Some interesting consequences-My clothing, T-shirts and under shorts, after a while start falling apart...I get holes in them and they become brittle and tear easily. I don't know if this is related, but i only had a couple of cavities at around 12-13 years of age no more until my 20s. I want to think this acidity kept bacteria, etc low, having this effect...this I surmise-I could be totally wrong. About a year ago, all my teeth started to break down (yes..I didn't see a dentist for years). The first dentist was amazed as all my teeth looked fine on the outside with minimal plaque, and he didn't know why it was happening. I went to another dentist, who did dentures, said that I was absolutely correct in my thinking that the high acidity was the culprit, and asked if I had problems with a dry mouth. I said yes, especially at night. He said this was really bad, when the mouth gets dry the acidity gets even worse. He wants to pull all of my teeth and do full dentures...at $12,000.

Brain Dunning did a *great* review of Kangen and other devices for ionizing water and goes over the health benefits in detail. It's a real eye opener. You can listen to the podcast episode "Kangen Water: Change Your Water, Change Your Life" where he covers it. He also posted the transcript of the episode.

Go out and research Kangen Water and maybe try it and see for yourself. Stop bashing something you don't know about. Go out and prove that it's bad. Then we'll listen. 'til then keep an open mind...what if?

RichardBravo

Hi everyone, my name is Richard Bravo, and I am a new user of the Enagic product and a distributor. I wanted to make that clear so you all know I have nothing to hide. I first saw these machines in action about 2 months ago at a local presentation where Dr. Dave Carpenter, a naturopath from Idaho, presented the data on the science and background of the technology and the recorded cases of increased health, etc.

Ultimately it is up to each person to do their own due diligence and come to your own conclusions. I personally have done extensive research both online and off, including drinking the water for the last month and half and I am convinced.

For one I feel 10x better than I have in the last 4 years. I don't eat an overly healthy diet, I don't workout, up until a couple of weeks ago I drank about 2 sodas a day, and I typically drank about 30-40 oz. of filtered or bottled water a day. The only thing that has changed in my daily routine is to add Kangen water. Coincidentally I am drinking more water now and almost no soda. I haven't really lost more than a few pounds of weight. I've actively studied alternative health for the last 6-8 years and I take whole food supplements. I know my own body and this is working.

The biggest factor for me is that my kids drink more water now and actually ask for it. My 13 year old son hates water and will avoid it at all costs. Over the last 3 weeks he has been taking a thermos full of it to school, on his own accord mind you, which he drinks all of it, drinks it immediately when he gets home and when he's doing his chores. My 4 year old asks for it all the time instead of juice.

One last personal experience concerns my wife. She has had issues with constipation for years, a condition most women are afflicted with. She typically goes about once a day and has tried everything from teas to herbs, etc and typically drinks an average of 120+ oz. of filtered water a day. She has been bouncing off the walls the last few days because she is now going 2-3 times a day. Again, not changing anything in her daily routine other than the "type of water" she is drinking.

As I said initially, as with anything else I encourage people to do their own due diligence and independent research and not rely solely on the "hearsay" of others; be it positive or negative. Ask them to prove it does not, just as you ask for proof that it does work. It's just as easy to tell a story of something working as it is to get on a soap box and make unsubstantiated claims to the contrary. Just because someone yells louder doesn't make them right.

I can only present my personal findings here. But I will say this... Please do not give up on this amazing technology simply because someone online said something stupid or because someone says "the science" doesn't make sense. As with any "alternative" health technology or process, the standard medical community will balk at the ideas being presented. This should be of little consequence in your research when you understand that standardized medicine always balks at alternative health practices. Look at chiropractic arts, reiki, acupuncture, herbal apothecary, qi gong, tai chi, etc. "Traditional" "western" medicine was quick to claim tom foolery and shenanigans in regards to these now widely accepted and greatly beneficial forms of alternative medicine.

There are a slew of medical practitioners that stand behind the technology and have seen results in their own patients including Hiromi Shinya, who pioneered modern colonoscopic techniques and invented the electrosurgical polypectomy snare now common on colonoscopes. In fact, if you really want to find out for yourself, find someone with an Enagic machine in your area that distributes the water and try it for yourself. I believe that is the only way you can truly come to a conclusive answer.

PS: As for the "chemicals" in the Enagic machine, it's simply a saline solution which is used to aid the electrolysis process when making the strong acidic water. The regular Kangen water (8.5-9.5 ph) water is pure ionized water and no chemicals are required to achieve the desired ph levels. Several companies and their agents are out to smear Enagic and misquote the company constantly for their own gains. Again, be careful what you read and take as fact just because *they* say so.

So What is Alkaline Water and Why Make Our Water Alkaline?

Acid wastes (from the lifestyles we lead - not only from food and drink, but also from stress and other pollutants) are dumped into the bloodstream and lymph, and then are transported to the liver and kidneys for the detoxification processing and elimination.

The pH level of our internal fluids affects every living cell in our bodies and the effect that over-acidification can have upon the health of our bodies is immense, with a chronically over acidic pH creating an extremely negative environment which affects all cellular functions from the beatings of the heart to the neural workings of the brain.

In order to hydrate your body optimally, you need to drink water that is alkaline and mineral rich. Alkaline water helps to neutralize acids and remove toxins from the body. Alkaline water also acts as a conductor of electrochemical activity from cell to cell.

Ideally, water should have a pH between 8 and 9, and you should be drinking 3-4 liters of it daily. As you hydrate your body properly, you’ll develop more of a thirst for water.

anon28863

Some of you sound like you don't know what you're talking about. Do you understand what a ph level in your body is? The ph level in your body can definitely affect illnesses and health levels. Kangen water does not have to be the *only* answer, but it can be helpful to certain people with high acidic levels (because Kangen water is a different ph level than other water, or can be).

Eating healthy and exercising can be the only thing needed for some people, but others might need a little more help. I think, if it's going to help someone in their struggle, why not? Even if it's not the only answer, if it helps someone let them use it and let that be that.

suspicious20

Dsatmhk. There is no such thing as disease? How crazy? You are right..Next!

Because I don't agree with you, you and your cohorts now want to monitor my responses. Prior to that you didn't care what I said. There are plenty of people who know the truth or you wouldn't be trying so hard to convince one person. Thank you for finally giving up.

anon28664

You don't know what the Lord designed.

You made a statement about Kangen water curing skin disease and you can't back it up so now you give up. So I'm glad you have decided to quit because frankly I'm tired of getting notices that you, or whoever you people are, keep answering my posts. Leave it alone, con someone else. Your machine is no good and you and I both know it. You claimed it cures skin disease, etc, but you have no proof to follow up with.

dsatmhk

I give up trying to justify something that I have used, researched and am selling with no problems whatsoever. We all choose what we are willing to put into our bodies. The Lord designed the inside of our bodies to be 75% water - our brains are 90% water, so what better substance to put in there other than water.

Our insides are also supposed to be alkaline, but because of the crappy diets and food without proper nutrients, we are extremely acidic. There is no such thing as disease, only different levels of Acidosis - google it and you will see. I refuse to argue about the validity of Kangen water anymore with someone that is "ignorant" of the research that has been done on Alkaline water. If you don't want to drink it, fine. All I can say is, "Next!"

anon28529

i have been drinking kangen water for 3 years, and i don't know what i would do without it. it has changed my health, and my energy level. yes it is expensive, and i'm sure there are other ionizers out there for less.. whatever you choose it will be good for u, i personally am fanatic about kangen water and would not use anything else. the MLM part of it can be annoying, but you don't have to be involved in it if you don't want.

suspicious20

*lolol* If you can show me in 45 minutes your water can cure cancer or some kind of skin disease I would buy two. But you can't. You have no way to prove this water cures anything and you certainly can't prove it in 45 minutes. By that I mean, lets see a video of someone with skin disease, they drink the water and 45 minutes later they are cured. That is basically what you are saying.

dsatmhk

Thank you mikedn. You are right - you can't knock it until you've tried it, *and* studied the affects of Alkaline water, that has been documented for years. Dr. Otto Warburg won a Nobel Prize for discovering the cause of *cancer* in the 1930's!! We have known for this many years that it is a lack of oxygen in the cells. So why do we keep treating the symptoms, and not go to the cause? Could it be that the prescription industry is a multi-trillion dollar *business*?!! This could change the lives of millions of people, and I for one am going to tell as many as I can.

mikedn

I recently tried the Kangen Water from my friend Bryan Polee. You should really try it out. You will be simply amazed at what it can do to your body. I'm no doctor, but I do believe that doctors should start thinking about using this device to weed people off their meds.

anon27959

I have a friend by the name of Bryan Polee who uses the Kangen Water for his son's skin disease and many other ailments in his family. I myself just recently tested the water and it is *simplyu amazing*. I wouldn't knock the water until you actually try it out and sit down for 45 minutes and let someone show you what it can do. I'm only saying this to let you see the wonders that it can do. I have just purchased my machine, and I am one extra person to say *stop drinking bottled water*! It is horrible for you, watch last nights 20/20 special as well.

"1 in every 18,000 here in the U.S." That is because no one believes the hype. You know what just because it happens in japan doesn't mean it's good for the world. I think you are just one of those people who are anon24800 and anon26126, 9931...water is water.

People have been drinking water for many years..polluted or otherwise. You are trying to sell a machine for $2500 and you can probably sell it for $25..but you are trying to scare people with that recording you have on the phone at a number no one can get in touch with you on..because you really can't answer any questions. I took the water to a scientist friend and really he is not impressed..

Why don't you do something here in the United States and let the FDA look at it?...I doubt you would do that because it's fake...get over yourselves..it's just another scam and prey on peoples fears especially with the economy the way it is...sorry still no sale...I'm really bored with this anyway we poured out the water...have no use for it...

dsatmhk

The reason that we recommend *not* taking your meds with the Kangen water is because it is highly alkaline and hexagonal shaped. Therefore, it reaches the cellular level more quickly than acidic water.

For those meds that are designed to be time-released, they would not do what they were intended to do.

When I take supplements, I use the 7.0 balanced water at that time; which is also made by this machine.

For me and my family, I want the best product on the market. Enagic machines are used in Japanese hospitals as medical devices. Japanese doctors are not paid until their patients are well; so it is in their best interest to make them well as quickly as possible. These machines are in 1 out of every 5 homes in Japan as opposed to 1 in every 18,000 here in the U.S.

It sounds like you heard about Alkaline water from someone that approached you about a machine? If so, you were probably offered to drink the water for 2 weeks? That is how it is marketed. I don't see any other company marketing their machine this way. We want you to see what the water will do for you and your family. Illness and disease cannot live in an alkaline environment or a body that is alkaline. In order to achieve an alkaline body we must eat alkaline food and drink alkaline water. I am informing anyone I contact about the water of this information. I want to see people get well. I want to see sickness and disease brought to a halt in this country.

If it takes an MLM company to get the word out to our sick nation, then so-be-it! We are killing ourselves with our diet, literally. All we are trying to do is get the word out that things need to change.

There are numerous demos on the internet, showing you the differences between Kangen water and bottled water. It is astounding. I can't believe that I was actually paying money for that wonderful bottled water; not to mention all of the plastic that was going into our landfills because we can't seem to keep up with the recycling effort.

The next most important part of the Kangen water, besides the pH being alkaline is the ORP value. This is the Oxygen Reduction Potential of the water. I will let you research that and see what you find. It is an interesting read.

No one is trying to scam you. We are all free to do our own research and make up our own minds. God Bless you in your endeavors.

suspicious20

dsatmhk, so you drink your regular bottled water with your meds and then drink kangen water..OMG you people are amazing..you will say anything to make a sale.

Ms. Nurse has yet to answer with all her scientific background. In any case. We in the neighborhood have just decided to stick with Aquafina and Dasani...so you can take your stuff somewhere else.

You are just selling a machine that we can get at WalMart doing the same thing for much less money. Of course if $2500 per machine was on the line for my company, I might make up stuff about...ohhhh Pez dispensers and how dangerous they are and how people should buy my "magical" dispensers. You see where I'm going with this..

your use of the word Kangen as a noun is way off...

dsatmhk

The reason that you are warned *not* to use the Kangen water to take your meds is because it is a high alkaline water and it reaches the cellular level very quickly. It may cause time-released meds to reach the cells too quickly, therefore defeating their purpose and design. It is only a warning, not a threat.

suspicious20

To the nurse who hasn't said one thing to back up your talk. Who are you? What kind of nurse are you? And if you are so positive put out there what your research came up with. I don't mean using your silly line "As a nurse I've studied the body and as a scientific mind I've done the research"..lolol unless the doctors all come to you for answers (and I doubt it very much..you probably work for kangen and you would say anything to sell it) your words are not a prayerbook and they aren't the gospel. So in your words..*prove it*!!...P.S. *good luck to you too*

hmmmm skeptics. I've done the chemistry and lived the results. Do your own research. As a nurse I've studied the body and as a scientific mind I've done the research. I say prove it wrong. Oh and p.s. good luck

100% pure water is not safe to drink...lololol okay Im really done..no sale here..sorry!!

anon24800

Last time i checked water breaks down to two parts, which are acidic (H+) and basic (OH-). Join the two you would get H2O. And that's 100% pure water and it's not safe to drink.

Im sure its a scam for a company probably based out of Japan to try to get money from people they think are gullible. The two people who claim to be representing this mess well lets just say they aren't from Japan. I wish our government would police some of these scams more closely. I for one will not be patronizing this company or any company that claims they have "magic water" when all they have is water with whatever nasty chemicals they want to put in it.

what are the differences between RO water and Kangen Water?

anon24336

what a load of cosmic debris..learn some real chemistry and see the flaws...

Testimonials and anecdotes are not reliable scientifically. This reads like a scam. "Cherchez le money." Seek the money-that is the key to this idea. There are many things people can do to improve their health or prevent disease that have no money cost. Proper diet (if type II diabetics would attain and maintains normal body weight, many of them would not require diabetic medications), exercise, avoidance of alcohol in excess and above all not smoking.

I would like to see some peer reviewed research supporting "Kangen Water."

Which brainless visionary concocted this scheme? Al Gore or Michael Moore???

I tried to post the last comment don't know if it went through. Here is my comment again. Its the word Kangen a "marketing term" meaning "return to origin" in japanese. Basically, Im looking at the bottle now and it says WARNING: Do not take medication with this water. I was told that is because it dissolves time released medication too fast. again....ITS WATER. So you lost weight and your heartburn disappeared. You probably started eating better and that caused your weight loss which in turn took care of your heartburn. Has nothing to do with the water. Japanese government approved? Yea we all wait on everything to be approved by them. Why does Enagic have to add chemicals to water to make it "Kangen" water. From what Im told they can't keep up with the competition. And last..2500 bucks for a machine you can probably get from Walmart? Times are hard and to be preying on people (especially the elderly) is wrong. And that is what this company is doing. At least in my neighborhood they are.

Although Kangen Water might be healthy, i think that some purveyors make hard-to-believe claims about the product. I would wait until there are some scientific studies that proved the results before i believed all of the claims.

That being said, i am absolutely not suggesting that it is UNhealthy. it is almost certainly safe and healthy to use.

I want to know why this company would tell someone do not take medication while drinking this water..its water why can't you take your medication especially those who are older and have diabetes and high blood pressure. What makes your water so wonderful that you don't need your meds. People have not been drinking this water since beginning of time. When you came along they were on meds..some even taking life saving medication. And your bottle has the gall to say stop taking medications with this water..doesn't sound to legit to me. Anyone dare to respond?

I work with a group of doctors that feels safest recommending Kangen water (by Enagic), which comes from a processor certified in Japan as a medical device. If my body is 75% water, I don't want to be processing water with anything but the best.

Kangen water is amazing. It is top of the line water. I had terrible heartburn before drinking this water. I no longer have heartburn ever. 3 months and counting. I also lost 15 pounds. Have my whole family and friends drinking it.
