Okay, the part where you're talking about freon says the cold liquid has to be heated then recooled. Why does it have to start out refrigerated if the point is to compress it to heat it into a gas?
I know that the expansion valve is a pressure relief valve that lets off the pressure once it's liquid to let it expand into gas again, this time cold. Maybe the reason it starts out cold is because a certain amount of pressure is required?
I'm still trying to figure this out because I want a way to a portable air conditioner that I can run on solar power. I think I have a long way to go but it would be awesome to be able to cool a car with a broken A/C using the power off the very sun that's giving you the overheating problem.
