I'm a lecturer and researcher and I travel a lot for conferences. Before I had an electronic diary, none of my colleagues or employees knew where I was. They would email me but it always took me a while to get back to them.
Then, my secretary told me to use an electronic diary and give them access to it. Using an electronic diary is extremely easy. The hardest part is remembering to update it. But I've made it a habit now and once something is organized, the first thing I do is input it into my diary.
My secretary, colleagues and employees now know where I am and when they can see me at the office next. It has made all of our lives so much easier. I'm happy because I don't have to feel guilty about not checking my email very often.
