Acid reflux sore throat is a condition that results from extreme cases of acid reflux. Acid reflux is a condition that occurs when acid from the stomach comes back up the esophagus and causes pain. If the acid comes too far, it can get up into the throat and cause damage and pain. In order to help a sore throat from acid reflux, an individual should drink water, gargle, try eating cold foods, and utilize acid reflux medications.

Acid reflux is a common condition that affects many people every year. Since it is so common, more and more people are also dealing with acid reflux sore throat as well. @simrin-- Over-the-counter anti-acids are basically useless in my opinion. Try aloe vera juice instead. It can be found in natural food stores, it's very good for the stomach.

You also need to drink more water to "clean" your throat often from the acid. For sore throat, suck on natural candies with honey. Ginger candy is also very good. It treats both sore throat and upset stomach. In fact, I was doing a holistic treatment for a while with ginger powder and honey for acid reflux. I used to mix the two and take it first thing every morning.

@ZipLine-- Thanks for the milk tip, I will try that. I'm experiencing sore throat due to acid reflux as well. My throat is very painful, the pain even radiates to my ears.

Do you take anti-acids as well? If so, which one?

I have a chronic sore throat from acid reflux. I heard that if acid constantly damages the throat, it can eventually cause throat cancer. I'm very scared about that and I'm trying hard to keep my acid reflux under control for this reason.

I am using proton pump inhibitor medication to reduce my stomach acid. I'm also watching my diet. I eat bland foods that don't increase acid production.

My doctor also told me to sip on milk throughout the day. This pushes acid back and soothes and calms the stomach. I think it's helping.
