Green tea moisturizer is a type of moisturizer that contains green tea as an active ingredient. Green tea may be added to moisturizers for the face or body, but is more often found in facial moisturizers. There are many different types of green tea moisturizers available.

Green tea is a powerful antioxidant that has been shown to calm skin, and protect skin from damage from free radicals, pollutants found in the environment, and in foods. Green tea moisturizer is able to effectively hydrate the skin, but is often gentle enough to be used by people with sensitive or acne-prone skin. Keep in mind that just because a moisturizer contains green tea, it is not necessarily all natural or hypoallergenic; it is important to still check the ingredients list for any potential irritants.

One common type of green tea moisturizer is an acne moisturizer. The green tea may be added to a moisturizer in addition to acne medication, such as salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. The acne medication can target blemishes to heal them and prevent new ones from forming, while the green tea can calm redness and potentially help to prevent scarring.

For those with dry or normal skin, however, this type of green tea moisturizer may be too harsh; those without acne should not use acne moisturizers. Instead, a standard green tea moisturizer may be used. This moisturizer may also include sunscreen; SPF 15 is fairly standard. It is important to wear sunscreen every day, so selecting a moisturizer that already includes it is a great idea.

Another type of green tea moisturizer is designed for sensitive skin or oily skin. This type of moisturizer may be fragrance-free, oil-free, or hypoallergenic, and is a good choice for people who experience redness or an allergic reaction to other moisturizers. The calming properties of green tea may be very helpful in this type of moisturizer. Of course, it is still important to wear sunscreen to protect the skin from sun damage; this can lead to wrinkles or skin cancer.

Green tea moisturizer is typically comparably priced to other facial moisturizers. Day and night versions may be available as well; night creams often offer more intensive repair and additional antioxidants, but are too heavy for use during the day. In addition, green tea is often found in facial masks, which are used to deeply cleanse the skin and draw out any impurities. It may be necessary to try a few different facial moisturizers before finding an effective one. Experts often recommend giving a new moisturizer at least a two-week trial period, unless it causes burning or itching, which can be a sign of an allergic reaction.

@discographer-- Yes, there is green tea body moisturizer but you may have to do some looking because it's not a very common product.

I actually purchase one from an Asian cosmetic brand. Green tea is a more common ingredient in Asian cosmetics, some brands have a full moisturizer line with green tea.

I use green tea body moisturizer because it's very hydrating and soothing. So it's great for dry skin in winter and also great for sunburned skin in the summer.

I picked up a mild face lotion with green tea at the store last week because it was on sale. I have acne prone, oily skin and I had never tried green tea moisturizer before. I also did not know of the benefits of green tea for acne until I started using the lotion.

It's really wonderful and it's working great for my skin. The lotion doesn't have any acne medication, but it's oil free and hypoallergenic. So it doesn't clog pores and it's very mild. It's a little runny but absorbs easily.

Since I started using the lotion, I've not had any new acne spots and the ones I had before are no longer red. They seem

to be healing quickly and I don't think they're going to scar. Usually it takes forever for my acne spots to heal and they always leave a blemish. I think this green tea moisturizer is a keeper and I recommend it to people with acne skin.
