Although it is a little different putting in coved molding than your regular old, run of the mill trim, it is something that a regular person can learn to do with persistence.
I was lucky enough to be raised by a great carpenter, and have another great (and old school) carpenter for a grandfather. I was also fortunate that they realized you didn’t have to be a boy to learn the trade.
While I am now a freelance writer, and have degrees in education and theatre, I am also a more than adequate carpenter. I actually taught my husband how to put up coved molding in our old home.
Even now, when we take on home remodeling projects (which we love to do) I am usually the one who tackles the trim.
Our neighbors think it’s so funny to see a short, little petite thing running the miter saw! I say they just ought to get over it! A girl can learn to do things far more complex than a coved ceiling, even in a man’s world!
