@rundocuri- If you use a basic dish washing liquid, I don't think that you will have any problems washing your cheese slicer. I think that you should avoid using any cleaners that have harsh abrasives, because they could scratch and damage the blade.
I also recommend that you wash your cheese slicer carefully with a soft dish clothe or sponge by hand instead of putting it in your automatic dish washer. Since the blade on most cheese slicers are thin and delicate, putting the slicer in a dish washer that uses fast-action water and harsh detergent could cause damage.
