@alisha-- Your 'fad health trend' comment about acai berry products might be partly true, because in reality, acai berry juice has *less* antioxidants than blueberry juice. But neither one of these are bad juices, there still one of the highest antioxidant containing juices available.

Both acai berry and blueberry actually come from the same family, they both have antioxidants and all the health benefits that come with that. Acai berry also has some other nutrients like Omega 6 whereas blueberry has anthocyanins which protects the cells.

So, in terms of antioxidants, blueberry is better than acai berry. But overall, they're both good and healthy.

Has anyone tried acai berry juices and drinks? I've been hearing a lot about it. I think some popular names like Oprah Winfrey started this trend of drinkin acai berry juice and taking acai berry extracts for health. It apparently has a lot of antioxidants in it and helps people lose weight too.

I'm wondering how accurate this information is. Does acai berry really have more antioxidants than the more common fruits like blueberries and strawberries? Will I get some extra benefits from it? Or is this another fad health trend?

A great tip I learned about antioxidants in fruits is that fruits with darker reddish colors have the most antioxidants. So grapes, blueberries, pomegranates are high in antioxidants for that reason.

That's why when I'm picking out fruit juices or fruits to make juice at home, I use this rule to get the most antioxidants possible.

I think pomegranate juice is very good and it's been advertised a lot lately too. The juice is pretty expensive at the store but a little goes a long way. I generally pick up a bottle and put a little bit in other fruit juices daily to add more antioxidants to my diet.
