Sweet dipping sauce is used with a variety of foods, from appetizers and entrees to desserts. A variety of meats, including chicken, sausage and pork, are often served with sweet dipping sauce. Many types of Asian cuisine and assorted vegetables are complemented by dipping sauces. Some desserts, including fresh fruits, are also served with dipping sauce.

Vegetables can be easier for kids, and even some adults, to enjoy if they are accompanied by a sweet dipping sauce. A blooming onion can be dipped into a sauce made from mayonnaise, ketchup and cream-style horseradish sauce. Sweet potato fries can be served with a sauce made of sour cream, brown sugar and crushed pineapple. The fries are also complemented by maple yogurt dip, which is made with plain yogurt, maple extract and honey.

Several Asian appetizers, including wontons and chicken balls, are complemented by a sweet dipping sauce. Thai hot and sweet dipping sauce is made with garlic, cider vinegar and hot pepper flakes. It is sweetened with sugar and seasoned with salt. Peanut dipping sauce combines peanut butter with dark soy sauce and sugar. Oriental dipping sauce is made with sesame oil, green onions and sugar.

For added flavor, chicken strips, wings and nuggets can be dipped into a honey mustard dipping sauce. The sauce is made with a combination of mayonnaise, two types of mustard and honey. Another sweet dipping sauce is made with ketchup, dry mustard and brown sugar. Sauce for chicken nuggets can be made with a combination of crushed pineapple in juice, pineapple orange juice and barbecue sauce. A sweet barbecue sauce that can be paired with chicken or pork contains ketchup, crushed red pepper and sugar.

A variety of meats, such as sausage, shrimp and pork, can be served with dipping sauces. Pork kebabs can be served with sweet dipping sauces, including a combination of curry, peanut butter and soy sauce. Shrimp can be served with sweet chili Thai sauce, which is made from rice vinegar, sugar and fresh ginger root. Bacon-wrapped, brown sugar smokies dipping sauce is made with mayonnaise, barbeque sauce and brown sugar.

Fruits are often served with sweet dipping sauces. Sliced fruit, such as bananas, apples and strawberry slices, can be dipped into fudge sauce dip. The sauce is made with butter, condensed milk and chocolate chips. Super fruit sauce dip is made with brown sugar, vanilla and sour cream. Fresh fruit dip can be made in a hurry by combining cream cheese and marshmallow creme.

I really like sweet and sour sauce, but most of the pre-made stuff you find at the store is no good. Does anyone have a good recipe for making it at home?

Thai peanut sauce is one of my all time favorite sauces. It tastes good on anything, not just Thai food. I have even eaten it with burgers and fries before.

While it is not exactly a sweet sauce, it does have some sweetness to it. When I make it I usually use pineapple juice to give it some sugar.

When I order pizza I really like to get the cinnamon sticks with the vanilla cream for dipping. I have realized recently how easy it would be to make cinnamon sticks at home, but I am not sure how I would replicate the frosting. It is thinner than most frosting. Could I just mix frosting with milk or cream? If anyone has tried this before please let me know.
