There are many different kinds of Crock-Pot® appetizers, some taking as little as an hour to cook and others taking much longer. A Crock-Pot® can cook spinach and artichoke dip in a few hours and spicy cheese dip in less than one hour. For meat lovers, hot and spicy chicken wings and sausage and peppers are appetizers that can finish within six hours; meatballs take a little longer at about eight hours.

Spinach and artichoke dip is one of the Crock-Pot® appetizers that takes very little time to make, as it can usually finish within three hours. All that is needed to complete the recipe is chopped spinach leaves, chopped artichoke hearts, granulated garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, cream cheese and sour cream. The spinach and artichoke hearts must be thoroughly drained before putting them in the Crock-Pot®. Serve with toasted baguette slices.

Another one of the Crock-Pot® appetizers that can cook in very little time is spicy cheese dip. Put cubed cheese, hot chili peppers, stewed tomatoes, chili flakes and sauteed onions into the Crock-Pot® on low for two to three hours. Stir, then let it sit for a few minutes. Put it into a large bowl, then top it off with a few pieces of chopped onion, tomato and more chili flakes. Serve it with tortilla chips.

Hot and spicy chicken wings are one of the many Crock-Pot® appetizers that can be served as part of dinner or as a standalone appetizer. In a bowl, mix ginger, chopped onions, honey and chili sauce, then pour it over the chicken wings in the Crock-Pot®. It takes less than ten minutes to prepare them, but about six hours to cook.

To make sausage and peppers, start off by cooking the sausage in a skillet, then throw it into the Crock-Pot® with green peppers, chopped onions, cherry tomatoes, tomato paste, chicken broth and salt. Allow the flavors to blend together for about six hours. If serving it as an appetizer, leave out toothpicks so guests can get a little of each ingredient.

Some of the best Crock-Pot® appetizers are those that take only a few ingredients and can cook all day without being watched. Meatballs are one of those appetizers. Throw a bag of frozen meatballs into the Crock-Pot® with one cup of cranberry jelly. Some prefer extremely spicy meat while others prefer something with just a dash of heat, so add in as much chili sauce as desired.
