What are the Different Alternative Treatments for Cancer?

Cancer is a major disease that has killed millions of people around the world. At this time, there are ongoing research and medical efforts to cure cancer; however, there are also various different alternative treatments for cancer which have been reported in alternative medicine literature as having shown promise as cancer treatments. Edgar Cayce, widely acknowledged as the father of holistic medicine, suggested various alternative treatments for cancer in general and for specific types of cancer, such as breast cancer and leukemia. For instance, some of his general suggestions include colonics, castor oil packs over the abdomen and liver, osteopathic or chiropractic adjustments to the spine, alkaline diet, and consumption of eight cups of water per day. Other Cayce suggestions pertaining to cancer treatment include use of the wet cell appliance, reading of specific Bible passages, prayer, the ideals exercise, ultraviolet light therapy, animated ash, beef juice, surgery, and consumption of three almonds per day.

Sound therapy is another alternative treatment for cancer. In France, sound therapy was found to be successful in destroying breast cancer tumors. Sound therapy to increase tumor temperature has been successful in destroying tumors in China. High-density ultrasound has been found to successfully treat cancer of the liver. Also, high intense focused ultrasound (HIFU) has been found to be a successful treatment for cancer of the prostate.

Laser therapy for cancer is sometimes listed as an alternative medicine treatment; however, this therapy has been increasingly done in traditional medicine, also. For instance, high temperature laser treatment where a laser was put into the patient's brain has been done in brain cancer treatment. Laser therapy results in reduced bleeding and fewer potential problems than regular surgery.

The Hulda Regehr Clark protocol is another one of the different alternative treatments for cancer. This treatment includes use of wormwood herb and black walnut tree green hull tincture. In addition, this treatment includes use of an electric zapper that is held in one's hands during treatment. Dr. Hulda Regehr Clark reported that cases of cancer were cured using her treatment.

Leaky gut syndrome is a factor in many different illnesses, including solely cancer. The alternative treatment for curing leaky gut syndrome includes drinking American saffron tea to help heal the colon. Drinking slippery elm tea is also recommended as a treatment for leaky gut syndrome. Also, alkalizing the diet and getting colonics is suggested.

Removal of certain foods from the diet has been stated as a strategy in cases of cancer. Studies have shown that certain foods could put people at higher risk for cancer. For instance, studies have found that consumption of phytoestrogens can put people at higher risk for cancer. Phytoestrogens include foods such as soybeans, products containing soy, bran cereal, flaxseed, beans, peas, lima beans, clovers, alfalfa, and pinto beans. Artificial hormones in milk, cheese, and meat can also reportedly put people at risk for cancer.

Vitamin therapy has also been an alternative treatment suggested in cases of cancer. For example, it has been reported in medical literature that vitamin D is helpful in cancer treatment. Other vitamins such as vitamin C and vitamin E are reportedly useful in treatment of cancer as well.
