Acid cigars are a special brand of aromatic cigars. They come in a range of flavors that, in smoking experience, are said to be comparable to the traditional Churchill and Robusto cigars. Although relative newcomers to the botanical aromatic cigar market, Acid cigars have managed to gain quite a following with cigar connoisseurs.

The Drew Estate, a company based in Nestili in Nicaragua, manufactures Acid cigars. The company was formed in 1995 by former lawyers Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel. They teamed up with the New York based artist Scott Chester to produce Acid brand cigars. The name was derived from Chester's art studio, Arielle Chester Industrial Design (ACID).

These cigars were the first cigars that the Drew Estate had produced on their own smoke. Their earlier efforts had been produced for them by Nick Perdoma and his cigar-making company Tabacalera Perdomo. One cigar, La Vieja Habana, proved successful at the World Trade Center Mall and the 1997 Retail Tobacco Dealers of America (RTDA) show. This encouraged the Drew Estate to start their own production unit in Nicaragua.

Jonathan Drew and company unveiled the Acid cigars at the 1999 RTDA show in Las Vegas. The cigars were portrayed as lifestyle luxury goods for people unafraid to explore and forge new paths. They proved to be an instant hit in the botanical aromatic cigar market.

The company places great emphasis on producing premium quality Acid brand cigars. Over hundred aromatic oils, herbal essences and spices are used in Acid cigar production. They make use of the finest tobacco from around the world.

Different kinds of tobaccos may be blended together to produce unique flavors. The tobacco leaves are cured by an organic fermentation process. For this, they are kept immersed in red wine for over three months. The cigars are shaped by hand.

Given their popularity and the competition, the exact production process of Acid cigars is kept a secret. No one knows the exact chemical composition of the aromatic ingredients or the exact blending details of the tobacco leaves. The Drew Estate keeps the botanical aromatic cigar market interested by continually refining cigar flavors, producing limited varieties and introducing new ones.

Acid cigars come in different sizes, wrappers and types. Some of the popular ones are Acid Nasty, Acid Earthiness, Acid Kuba Kuba, Acid Ming Dynasty and Acid Krush Blue Connecticut. Acid One is the sole Acid cigar in the line that does not have any aroma.

The Acid brand cigars can be purchased singly, in a dozen or in more quantities. They come in attractively packaged wrapping, in boxes and in tins. They are available in cigar stores as well as online at the Drew Estate website and other cigar sites.
