Was "Mein Kampf" a Popular Book?

"Mein Kampf" was written by Adolf Hitler and is notoriously known as the Nazi bible. The book made headlines in 2015 because it was once again released in German bookstores. Previously the book had been banned from reprint in fear of igniting the hatred that caused World War II. However, the reprint includes analysis and criticism, which have lengthened the original version from 700 pages to almost 2,000. "Mein Kampf" became a best seller in the 1930s when the Nazis rose to power. Actually, when Hitler led Germany, every newlywed couple and German soldier was given a copy of the book. Today, the reprint of the book is heavily regulated in hopes of dislodging some of the myths told in the original version.

More about World War II:

  • Some argue World War II was actually just a continuation of World War I.
  • World War II was the most widespread and deadliest war in history.
  • World War II lasted six years, from 1939 to 1945.

How many copies of Mein Kampf were sold in the year it was published? That was the question I thought you were going to answer. --johndunmc
