How do I Reduce Fine Lines and Wrinkles?

Finding the best way to reduce fine lines and wrinkles can be an extremely frustrating task. With so many different lotions, creams, cleansers, and other products on the market, it's hard to tell the effective items from those that are little more than pretty packaging. Each effective line and wrinkle treatment will only work on specific kinds of lines and wrinkles. Therefore, the best way to determine what treatment will work for you is to think about the kind of wrinkles and lines that you are dealing with.

Superficial wrinkles and lines can be eliminated with the help of non-invasive lasers. Also, topical creams that are prescribed by dermatologists will help to eliminate surface skin damage. While topical creams may take up to two months to work, most laser patients see results within six sessions. The one drawback to laser treatment is the cost of the actual procedure, which can be rather expensive.

Deep-set fine lines and wrinkles must be attended to by a licensed plastic surgeon. Unfortunately, this type of skin damage cannot be reversed by committing to a dermatologist-prescribed skin regimen. Face lifts, mini face lifts, and filler injections are the best way to reverse deep lines and wrinkles. While these procedures are invasive, they will produce the best results for people who are battling deep fine lines and wrinkles.

Aside from surgical procedures, the best way to eliminate any kind of skin crease is to stay away from the sun. While wearing a protective sunscreen every day, even during the winter months, is important, this is not enough. Take the time to put a sun hat on while sitting on a beach or out in the open air. Wear good quality sunglasses that will protect the delicate skin around your eyes, and be sure to keep yourself hydrated while you are in direct sunlight.

If you are already battling fine lines and wrinkles, staying out of the sun will only prevent further skin creases from developing. In this case, using a quality moisturizer will help. Moisturizers have the ability to plump facial skin, which reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Using a moisturizer every day is a great way to avoid further skin folds -- don't forget to choose a moisturizer with sunblock!

In addition to all of the things listed above, visiting with a licensed skin esthetician can also work wonders. These professionals can provide you with a number of skin treatments that will help reduce any fine lines and wrinkles you may have. When you combine sun sense, a skin routine, and the help of a skin expert, you will likely be able to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

@raynbow- While I think it is best to wait until you are in your 50s or 60s to have a facelift, it isn't a bad idea to begin the fight against wrinkles at a younger age. Having Botox done in your 30s and 40s can prevent lines and wrinkles from developing in the future. Fillers can also stimulate collagen, which will help prevent future wrinkling of the facial skin.

Your best best for reducing wrinkles is to eat a healthy diet and use a good wrinkle cream. If you are thinking about procedures like a face lift or injectibles, it is best to wait until you are older.
