Chest wrinkles are lines in the skin of the chest that generally start to appear as we age, usually much more on women than on men. They can also appear from weight loss that leaves the skin a little loose or from damage after years of sun exposure. Preventing chest wrinkles is the best way to fight them since they are typically difficult to completely get rid of once they appear. Steps that include taking good care of your skin and sleeping in a different position can help prevent and reduce chest wrinkles.

One good step that may help you prevent chest wrinkles before they start is to take very good care of your skin. Drinking enough water each day will help hydrate all your skin, not just the skin on your chest. Healthy, hydrated skin resists wrinkles much easier than dry, damaged skin. A good diet rich in fruits and vegetables can also help your skin get the right nutrients for better health.

Avoid doing things that are known to damage skin, such as smoking. Cigarette smoking narrows the blood vessels in skin, restricting the flow of nutrients and oxygen. In addition to this, the thousands of chemicals in the inhaled smoke are known to deplete the collagen in your skin, which makes it less able to stretch and spring back. All these things help contribute to chest wrinkles as well as wrinkling on the face, hands, neck and the rest of the body.

Sun exposure is also known to be potentially damaging to the skin. As such, it is important to use a sunscreen when you will be in the sun to protect your skin from the generally harmful UV rays. Tanning in a tanning bed can also help promote wrinkling and damage, so it is probably something you should avoid if you want to prevent chest wrinkles.

You may also do well to use a good moisturizer once or twice a day on your skin, with special attention to the chest area. This can help skin stay hydrated, especially if you are prone to dry skin. Switching to a soap with built-in moisturizers may also be a good idea if you currently use a soap that is harsh and tends to strip the skin's natural oils. These are typically good principles for overall antiaging skin care and should help prevent or reduce wrinkled chest skin as well as wrinkled skin on the rest of your body.

Another good tip for fighting chest wrinkles is to avoid sleeping on your side. When one side of your chest is compressed against the other as you sleep, lines can more easily form between the breasts. There are also products such as specially designed pillows to put between the breasts and special bra-like devices designed to smooth the skin on the chest. You might find these are worth trying, but chances are that good skin care and sleeping on your back will do more to prevent chest wrinkles than most gadgets and devices.

@talentryto- Yes, using a sunscreen cream will protect your skin from the sun's damaging rays, and will help to prevent wrinkles on your chest when applied before going out in the sun. If you swim, you should choose a waterproof formula and apply it liberally at least 30 minutes before going outdoors and swimming. You should also re-apply it every 30 minutes or so when you spend a lot of time in the water.

You should also make sure that you choose a sunscreen that contains a sun protection factor, or SPF, of at least 30, so that you can enjoy your time in the sun and water longer without developing chest wrinkles.

Is it true that using a sunscreen cream will also help to reduce chest wrinkles? If so, will applying one work if I spend a lot of time in the water? I love to swim in the summer.
