How do I Choose the Best Men's Deodorant?

Choosing the best men's deodorant requires some consideration. One of the first steps to finding the best deodorant requires a person to fully understand their body type. Each person is unique and has distinct attributes that will contribute to how a men's deodorant may or may not work with their body's chemistry.

Individuals who have illnesses that affect their body chemistry should be careful when choosing a deodorant. For example, those that suffer from conditions such as hyperhidrosis may want to consider deodorants that minimize sweating. In this case, choosing an antiperspirant may be the better option. Antiperspirants are deodorants to provide a protective seal against the sweat glands and reduce sweating.

Lifestyle is also a factor that is necessary to choosing the best men's deodorant. The more active a person is, the more likely a stronger deodorant will be the right choice. Many deodorants are created specifically for men who lead very active lifestyles and need something that will complement their lifestyle.

Some men's deodorants have special attributes that make them unique. For example, one deodorant may focus on eliminating bacteria while another deodorant focuses on neutralizing odors. If the individual has a specific need, they should explore deodorants that cater to that need.

Deodorants are also applied using different methods. Most brands use either a spray, roll-on or stick method. Each method has its own advantages. Choosing the best men's deodorant requires choosing a brand that utilizes the individual’s most preferred method.

Another detail to consider when choosing a deodorant is the smell. Each person will have his own unique scent preferences. Men’s deodorants come in a variety of scents, and non-scented deodorants are also readily available.

The safety of a deodorant is also important. Some deodorants contain ingredients that could pose health hazards. One particular chemical found in many deodorants is aluminum. This common ingredient has been known to cause skin irritations and other potential health problems. Fortunately, there are a number of organic deodorants available that avoid hazardous ingredients. Organic deodorants provide an eco-friendly and healthy alternative.

Individuals that have trouble finding the best men's deodorant should also consider home remedies. There are a few home remedies that are perfect for neutralizing underarm odor. For example, applying vinegar or baking soda under the arms can eliminate odor. Vinegar or baking soda is also a good idea for those with sensitive skin. Using a facial cleanser under the arms can also remove odors and keeping the area clean with a facial cleanser will improve underarm skin as well.

Over time, a person's lifestyle, body type, and body chemistry can change. A person who wants to ensure they are always wearing the best deodorant should consider these changes and make decisions accordingly. Also, it isn't uncommon to try several deodorants before finding the best one.

At what age should I start buying deodorant for my son?

He's very private and I don't want to ask him about it. I would rather just buy it and leave it for him in the bathroom. Is there an age when it's time?

@otatop- If your son uses a gel or a cream type deodorant, it's not as likely to stay on in the water as a solid stick type deodorant. I think you win the argument. None of them are truly waterproof.

Well, that's not entirely true. Secret makes something called Clinical Strength, which is waterproof, but I believe it's for women.

My son and I have had a long running argument that maybe someone can settle for us.

He is a frequent swimmer and says that when he is in the water his deodorant stays on. He says it's waterproof.

I smell him and am sure that it is coming off in the water. I say it is not waterproof.

So is men's deodorant waterproof? And if it normally isn't, is there a special one that is?
