I'm a pretty good cook, but I've never had the least amount of luck making a chocolate sauce for ice cream. It always tends to be runny and it gets weird when it hits the cold ice cream. I'd rather buy it and know what I'm getting.

Chocolate syrup is best when the end result is a milkshake. Nothing else blends as well, and it usually has a decent chocolate flavor. I hate getting what is supposed to be a chocolate milkshake and it's only a vague tan and tastes like someone sort of waved the chocolate syrup bottle over it. But, I digress.

For a special treat, I'll spend the extra bucks for one of those "gourmet" sauces that make you wonder if you've died and gone to heaven.
