Those who are undergoing major stress or significant chronic pain are likely to have higher blood pressure.

It makes sense to try to reduce stress. This may be accomplished in the home environment through the practice of meditation, special breathing practices, or for those who are religious, through occasional earnest prayer. Sodium is is a big culprit in high blood pressure. Unfortunately we are taking in too much of it because most of the bought foods have high levels of sodium (table salt).

The daily safe level of sodium intake recommended is 1500 to 2300 mg. Apparently in United States, the data show that we take two times as much sodium as we should. It is a good idea to keep track of it, especially those who are prone to, or have high blood pressure.
