A hair transplant procedure can be very helpful for both men and women who are experiencing hair loss. After a hair transplant procedure, however, many patients end up with some type of scarring in the area from which the hair plugs were taken, known as the donor area. This donor area is typically on the back of or the side of the head, and sometimes scarring in this area can be covered by certain hair styles. Some hair transplant patients prefer to cover up these scars by using a concealer applied daily, while others prefer the more permanent method of tattooing. There are also some surgeries that can cover up transplant scars.
Probably the easiest and least expensive method of hiding hair transplant scars is to grow the hair to a certain length. Men and women who prefer longer hair usually do not have to do much more than this to keep hair transplant scars hidden from view. Those who prefer shorter hair styles, though, generally have to explore other methods of covering up these scars.
There are a number of special concealers on the market designed to help camouflage thinning hair as well as hair transplant scars. These concealers are made in a variety of different hues and shades to match nearly every hair color, and they can be applied shortly after the sutures are removed from the donor area. Although this method is quite inexpensive, many hair transplant patients do not like that the concealers must be applied every day and sometimes numerous times a day.
Micro hair tattooing, sometimes known (MHT), is a more permanent solution used when hiding scars from a hair transplant. During this procedure, the hair transplant scars are covered up with a tattoo. This tattoo is made to look as close as possible to the person's natural hair color. To achieve this effect, varying sized needles are used, as well as slightly different pigmentations
Individuals who are looking for a way to get rid of a hair transplant scar instead of just covering it up have the option scalp scar revision surgery. During this procedure, the scar tissue is removed, and the scalp is pulled back together. Although the scar will technically still be there, it will be much smaller and much less noticeable to the untrained eye. After this surgery, as the patient ages and the scalp loses elasticity, there is a possibility that the scar can widen and become noticeable once again.
A follicular unit extraction (FUE) is another surgery that can hide hair transplant scars. In this procedure, individual hairs and follicles are taken out of the scalp area around the scar, or from the beard. These hairs are then implanted directly into the scar, and grow just like regular hair. Individuals with smaller scars and hair to spare are prime candidates for this procedure.
I was scared by old plug removal and was told the donor site would be almost invisible. This was a blatant lie.
Why are they allowed to do this to people?
